It was absolutely wonderful caring for Masha, Flynn and Iris. Christine and Ari have a house that feels like a home in every way, the neighborhood is great for walks and they are a delightful couple. They felt like friends immediately. I hope to be able to sit for them again!

Thanks for the wonderful stay!
The house is in a very beautiful, remote and rural setting in a forest. Just as you imagine by looking at the pictures. I used the sauna multiple times and was very happy with it. The fireplaces are also very cosy and make a lot of fun in winter. Also, there is a hot tub - heated by wood, so it´s quite an effort to run that in winter and I didn´t.

The pets were really easy-going. The dog Laku was extremely friendly, the cats were sleeping mst time as cats do.

I highly recommend!

I had the best time sitting for Scott and Sarah. Ziggy and Storm are easily my new favorite cats, they were a joy to be around. Scott and Sarah were great at communicating when any needs arose and their home was clean and in a great location with plenty of amenities.

Thank you again Julia and Kirby for having me! I am extremely grateful for this unique opportunity and I had an amazing time.

I had zero prior experience with horses but really wanted to try it out to add to the list of animals I've sat for. Julia and Kirby were great instructors, showing me the ropes(literally) on how to handle the horses and what needed to be done around the stable. They provided a hardcopy cheatsheet of the daily routine and contact information of neighbors which was very convenient. They were also quick to answer any questions I had throughout the sit. The house itself was also very nice with an amazing view of the valley from the bedroom.

For anyone who is interested but hasn't dealt with horses before: This was a great opportunity, the horses were all well behaved and easy to handle. Even though it was all new to me, it is definitely still manageable with a 9 to 5 (remote)job. The morning routine took the most time, which averaged about 70 minutes for me as a solo sitter(could probably cut that in half if you have a partner). That involved taking the horses out to the pasture, cleaning up the poop and pee, getting the food and supplements ready for lunch and dinner, and leaf blowing off the hay and dirt around the stable. Then the lunch feeding and bringing them back in the afternoon were very straightforward, taking maybe 15-20 minutes each. I was honestly a little nervous at the very beginning but you really just have to follow the instructions and you'll be fine. I did also sit for Rocco and Harriet while I was here. They were very low maintenance but loved getting scratches and would sometimes come along when I was bringing in the horses. Rocco likes barking at people walking by the house while Harriet just rested in her little crate area for most of the day.
Ojai is also a great town to explore with a lot of personality. Kind of reminds me of Carmel-by-the-sea. There is an inn up the street that has a small meditation garden with a great view of the valley.

Our first experience as a pet sitter was better than we could have imagined. It was a pleasure to have met Terri and the kittens Kitkat and Kmichi and to have spent a few weeks in their company. Terri welcomed us very well, with great communication, she made sure we had everything during our stay and even gave us a gift when she returned home. Terri, it would be a pleasure to have Kitkat and Kmichi with us again and thank you very much again for your trust, attention and care with us during this experience. Stephanie and Rafa 😊
