Eevee and Scarlet stole my heart. Their personalities are completely different, but they're both sweetie pies. Eevee is spoiled and gets jealous if she doesn't get all the attention during waking hours, while Scarlet loves nighttime cuddles to the point that she'll put her head on your pillow if there's room. The dogs are most active after their evening meal. They wrestle and chase each other until they eventually tire out for bedtime. Otherwise, they like to lounge and relax most of the day. Leia, the cat princess of the crew, stayed close and was watchful. She didn't hide and would approach me, but never wanted to cuddle. The house is spacious and cozy with everything you need to feel at home - from fast wifi to a great stove to comfy chairs on the patio. I even got to meet a very friendly neighbor. Shawonn made time to introduce me to the crew before he left so we wouldn't be strangers. And Shannon made sure to comment and give feedback when I sent updates. Great pets, great parents, great sit!
Sitting for Hamish and Monty was a wonderful experience. They are lovely characters and very easy to look after. Hamish will happily go where you are. He is great on walks, loves looking out at the sea when going along the promenade. He loves a treat and makes sure you know to give him one, by either looking up at you, or giving you a nudge on the leg! Very funny. Hamish is like a little shadow around the house, he likes to see what you are doing. He slept on our bed every night and you would hardly know he was there. Monty also follows you about the house and presents himself for strokes and some play too! He is a lovely cat, very affectionate and happily purrs away on your lap. Monty and Hamish are funny together, they seem to like to play with each other. Month waiting to pounce on Hamish, or Hamish chasing Monty - or telling him off when he is scratching at furniture. They have a great bond, which is delightful to see. Morven’s home is a beautiful place in an amazing location. It has everything you could need. And is literally a few minutes to the sea. Communication with Morven before was easy and really helped us to understand her needs and those of Monty and Hamish. I would 100% recommend this sit. We would love to return in the future.
Although this was only a brief sit, we had the loveliest time with Ralph - one of the cutest pups we’ve had the pleasure to meet. He is full of energy and has a great personality. Although only 6 months old, he listened well, and was no trouble at all in the house or out for walks (although he is very friendly and did want to say hello to every passing dog!). Ralph’s family home is beautiful, warm, inviting and with everything you could need. It is also in an amazing setting, overlooking the race course - ideal for walks and runs, and still only 30 mins or less walk from York city centre. When we arrived at the house, Beth welcomed us in and talked us through everything we needed to know, making sure both we and Ralph were settled and happy. The whole family was lovely☀️ This was a great sit and we’d certainly be happy to stay again. 100% recommended if you’re looking for a York based sit with a great dog.
The pet owners: Our sit for Jo and Russ was superb. They were so warm and welcoming, very lovely people indeed. We were provided with a comprehensive welcome package and walk-through that left us fully prepared for the sit. Jo left printed maps so that we could easily identify local walking trails. The pets: Baily is a dog-lovers dog. We fell in love with him immediately. He is so sweet and a wonderful hiking companion. Although Jo and Russ did not require it, we walked Baily almost 8 miles each day rain and/or wind (I know the saying is rain or shine, but we did not get super lucky on the shine). Phylis, the cat really warmed up to us and let us know what she needed when she needed it. She was very charming and whirled and twirled around my legs every morning. I even received a few kitty kisses from her. She is an indoor/outdoor kitty and used her litter box perfectly but very infrequently. The house: It is newly built and very comfortable. I am goldilocks when it comes to beds, and I can report that Jo and Russ provided a large bed that was top notch. The bathroom is very large, and the shower/tub has great water pressure (plush towels were provided...nice touch). The kitchen has everything you need and more. The living room is comfortable and there are lots of tv/movie watching options. Remotes are super simple to use. The house is cozy and warm. The town: The location was absolutely perfect; it was an easy and safe walk to the center of town and an easy drive to the Peak District (amazing hikes and small towns) as well as Chester (a lovely black and white town). The markets were wonderful our favorite being Waitrose, just a mile walk, but they also had Aldi, and Iceland (Jo tells you in her welcome guide what to expect from each). The independent butchers were the highlight of our shopping trips, I believe we visited them all (more than once). Lee Parrot, just across the street from Aldi is known for award winning sausages and Art and I have NEVER tasted better! One of the butchers are located in the town Market an old building that also hosts some food vendors, some craft vendors, and fish monger. Overall, a great experience that we would highly recommend to others and would love to do again. Thank you, Jo and Russ, for letting us borrow your pets, your home and your town.
Nichola and Rob were very welcoming when we arrived and took the time to show us all around their property and gave us very detailed instructions in relation to all the animals. We thoroughly enjoyed our four weeks at The Poplars and grew very close to Sasha, Ren, Tinsel and Tiger who all loved some cuddle time. The chickens provIded fresh eggs every mornIng and we loved cooking on the AGA in the kitchen. The cows were pretty much self suffIcIent and only needed theIr hay topped up every couple of days. The village and surrounding border countryside is a truly beautiful part of Shropshire. Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful house looking after all the animals. We would thoroughly recommend this sit to anybody interested in applying.

We received 4 legs and a Leash's information when we asked a neighbor who their dog walkers were. We've been super pleased with Sharon and her team! We started working with them for dog walks in January for our then 7 month puppy. It was just a means while we waited for his neuter in April and the plan was to continue back with daycare. However, we liked our walker and Sharon so much we decided to keep the walk in addition to the one day of daycare. We've also had Sharon stop by to take care of our 11 year old cat and small parrot when we went out of town for a long weekend. She came by once a day to check on them. Our cat, who normally hides when new people come in, instantly warmed up to Sharon after her second visit. The group sends out regular updates with photos for visit and walks, which really gives you a peace of mind.

She is very professional and animal-friendly. From our meet-and-greet to her returning the keys, I felt comfortable with her taking care of my cat. Mama Pat has been a wonderful find for us. We live in Villa Park also, and feel so glad to have found a safe and caring place to leave our black lab Bella. She is nervous when we are gone and I think we finally figured out the best fit for her. The fact that she can play with other dogs all day and sleep free in someone's home just as if she was at her own house is the best fit for her. Pat provided daily photo updates to us directly as well as posting often on social media. She conducts a meet and greet with her and her own dogs, and requests vaccine records as well. Our Bella loved being there and it was so comforting to know that she was being well cared for!
Patricia watched my Meatball a few times a week and on the days she didn’t watch him at her home, she would come walk him while I was at work. Meatball Loved going and playing with her dogs as well as any other dogs she had that day. He was super tired when he would come home. I’ve known Patricia for years and I was so excited when I found out she had started all this! Over the weekend she watched my dog Ranger, who is my best friend in the world! I was extremely nervous to leave him, but I know he was in great hands! She sent me photos throughout the day and my dog seems so excited to go over there. First I would say I am so happy I found Patricia and her amazing services. She and her family truly not lie when she says they treat your furry babies like their own. My dogs were comfortable all the time. Spacious backyard for high energy dogs(just like mine) and lots of love and cuddles. She even left my dogs sleep in their bed, since my dogs are used to and it is the only way they sleep( note... I took their beds). My dogs were safe and happy the six days of their stay there. I will never worry again of my dogs when they have to stay behind on a vacation time as long as it is Momma Pat's. Hope she never stop her business. 🙏 ❣🐶🐶

Lara is the best! She not only takes great care of our dogs year round, but we just had her take care of them while we were on vacation and couldn’t have been happier. We forgot to leave one of the dog’s special food that he needs for a medical issue and she tracked it down and picked it up for him. He never even missed a meal! Loving service from reliable people
My husband and I haven’t taken a vacation in over a year simply because we were scared to find a new dog sitter after our move. We have two big dogs with a lot of energy, and one of them has health needs. While we were gone, Janice sent pictures and updates. Our dogs looked happy and like they were on their own vacation. The yard is fenced in and looks like a dog park. We will absolutely continue to use them and now can feel comfortable if/when we go out of town.
I have to say, the Owner of this company was just amazing. Taking and sending us great pictures of our doggos daily. She also was very strict with one of our dogs cones and when we picked her up today, her paw was better than we do at home. The owner also kept us up to date on how they were doing throughout the entire stay. I will definitely be using this company in the future. No worries when I have our doggos staying here. If you're not sure, I would say try this company, they far exceeded my expectations.
It's hard to put a price on feeling that's your pets are safe and secure while you travel or while you are at work. If you could though it would be far less then we spend with Janice knowing our pet is with someone that cares about them and provides a safe and fun environment. You have to love leaving your dog off and having them shake fearfully in the car but be wagging and happy when they see where you drove them. Everything about working with Janice is friendly, comfortable, and at times self-sacrificing for you and your pet. We are lucky to have her to care for our animals.
Always takes great care of our dog, and sends photos of him while we're out so we know he's okay. The owner is great to talk to and responsive over the phone, so it's easy to set up appointments. Prices are extremely reasonable, too.
My dogs, Buster & Whoopie, love their time at Wood's Wags and Wiggles! Janice obviously loves dogs and is very friendly. I especially love when she sends us pictures of our dogs having a good time!
Woods Wags and Wiggles did a cat-sit service for 1 week while i was out for a wedding in Mexico ... Upon my return i came home to a happy and well taken care of cat. Overall very very happy with the service!

I couldn't be more pleased with Ryan. He is so kind and gentle with my very senior CHUG... I used his services for grooming/bath/nails several times and all amazing! I have also hired him to come let my dog out when we would be gone for long periods of time. I have recommended him to several family members which worked out great for them too!!! I highly recommend Ryan with Duke Dog Care. Ryan took care of our sweet senior dog and gave her the meds she needed and was so patient and caring with her. Veevee was always so excited to see him. Duke dog care has been the greatest. After some injuries to each of us it was difficult for to walk our two dogs. After emailing duke dog care, he set up a schedule to walk our dog. After my fall, he stepped up to walk our little girl mornings and afternoon. I don’t know what we have done without Ryan. Our dogs love him and it has wonderful watching dexter learn to welcome him
This guy takes care of everything! We started as training clients but kept with them for walks, baths, overnight care and they even help keep our home tidy with all the mess dogs make. I come home and everything is done, I just get to relax with my pup!

We have been using Fetch! to walk our dog for the past 3 years (almost every weekday) and could not be happier. Erin and the walkers have really taken care of our former shelter dog, who can be shy and skiddish at times. I know he looks forward to the walks, and we look forward to the notes about the walks at the end of the day. We had also boarded our dog with our walker when we went overseas for a week, and he was super relaxed when we returned. Erin is extremely responsive, even with last minute schedule changes. We have use a couple other dog walking services prior to Fetch!, and we would recommend Fetch! and Erin to anyone who has a pet in need.
I have a Catahoula Leopard - large breed ~80lbs. Erin's confidence with both the breed size and my dog's stubborn demeanor sets her apart from many services I have used. She is reactive to ensure my dog does not use his weight against someone and is proactive before another animal (such as a squirrel) is spotted. I can say she loves my dog more than even I, which for me is important. Her prices are very reasonable for the services and expertise she brings to the table. Highly recommended!

I have left my 2 senior mini schnauzers with Kim twice now and they absolutely adore her! Besides missing my dogs I don't have to worry about them at all. I know she takes great care of them and has so much experience, they are probably safer with her than me. On their most recent visit, one of my dogs didn't eat for the first day and Kim kept a special eye on her and updated me, then added chicken to her food to get her to eat. It worked! I will only leave my dogs with Kim from now on, the peace of mind is priceless.
We have been a handful of times and the dogs seem to love it there. They have tennis balls for toys granted neither of my guys have toy aggression so it's no problem. Like most dog places, it has a slight dog smell but it's SOO much less than the others that I have sent my guys to. Even my old man dog who almost never plays with anyone besides his brother played with other dogs. I didn't believe them until they sent me proof. Lol. I do love that there is a slight discount for multiple dogs. We have only done daycare and a nail trim so far.
We love this place! They post daily Updates on Facebook with pictures, have couches, open areas for the dogs to run, and so much more! The staff here is also incredible. Pickup and drop off a staff member comes to get and give you your pup. Everyone is so nice, kind, and excited to meet your dog, the owner is fabulous and she is so kind to the pups too, you can tell everyone that works there loves on your dog just like you do. I feel great about dropping my pup off here as he is so excited to get out of the car when we pull into the parking lot. (Something he didn’t always do at his old daycare)
We 100% highly recommend Dogtastic Fun for both daycare and boarding. We have a rescue pup that has high energy and high anxiety - the staff and environment has been so beneficial for her health and wellness. We loved the trial day of daycare to ensure it was a good fit all around, and we just boarded for the first time - and had peace of mind the whole trip. The staff know my dogs by name, and I fully trust that they provide excellent care every time. I never worry about dropping the kids off because they're dashing into the place, excited to be back.
Love this place! Staff is very friendly and helpful and the love they show my dog while I’m away makes me feel reassured. They always accommodate late pick ups and last minute boarding which is super convenient!
This is a fantastic place. The staff always goes above and beyond to care for our shamrock . We have been taking our dog here so many years she is now 12. She takes heart medicine and they do a great job making sure she gets her medicine twice a day.
My dog is ALWAYS running to the door to get inside. He never did that at our other daycare. Plus bowz is a German Shephard Husky mix we can never get all his energy out at the dog park.... he is wiped and a snuggle bug at the end of the day
It's obvious they love the dogs & our pup always looks forward to going there. But..the place smells AWFUL. The ammonia smell hits you as soon as you walk in. They need to do a better job cleaning, disinfecting. Unless this improves we will be looking for a new place to board. I dread the stink as soon as I walk in the door. Please do better.
When our usual dog daycare business was booked solid for spring break, i thought we were in trouble! Enter Dogtastic Fun to the rescue. We were able to happily enjoy our vacation knowing that Biscuit, our 7 year old pampered and shy rescue dog was having the time of her life. You can tell that the staff at DF really love animals and take good care of them. They even post pics of your furry friend on facebook and are EXCELLENT at keeping in touch if you have any questions. We were even able to tack on a last minute bath which really turned B into a fluffy clean dog. Thanks Dogtastic Fun! 2 paws up!!
If I could give them a million stars, I would! I cannot say enough about everyone at Dogtastic Fun! My puppy has been going there for 2 years and he absolutely loves it. He's 13 lbs and thinks he's a big dog. The dogs are together based on their temperament, so he gets plenty of play time with the big dogs. Each dog is accessed by their individual needs. They are watched over and played with constantly. If they need quiet time, they are given quiet time. Every single person on staff LOVES DOGS. Jammer HATES when I pick him up at the end of the day and won't even look at me when he comes out. He tries to get back in the play area with his friends. As soon as he gets home, he's out for the night. Thanks Sue, Debbie, Cassie and all the staff for taking such care of us. We love you!!!
Our pittie Buddy is very well loved and cared for and naturally we wanted to take him to a kennel that would love him like their own. Cedar Lane is a great place and our dog liked it last time he went. He came home totally relaxed and very happy. He willingly went with the staff this time for boarding also which tells us he is in good hands. Buddy does not get along with other dogs so it’s great to have an option to not have him around other dogs! Highly recommend this kennel for all your needs. Kind staff and a very homelike environment. It’s a vacation for your dog also!
Jeannie is amazing!! We have an 80lbs Huskie pitbull with a ton of anxiety. They always take care of Kylo and give him plenty of options for play time. Unfortunately Kylo also likes to tear things apart, including his cot. Jeannie was fantastically patient with him and worked out a better sleeping arrangement for him so he felt comfortable away from home. It really goes to show how much Cedar Lane really cares for the dogs and does everything in their power to give them a good stay!
I think the real judge of a kennel is whether or not your dog wants to go back the second time. I have a fairly anxious dog, and at some *other* places (vets and some kennels) she would tell me she really did not want to go back. However at this place, I was surprised how she was not only willing but eager to go back to this kennel! She readily walked on back behind the counter! This is her way of telling me they take good care of her, which is always a relief for anxious pet owners like me. I give full marks for their kenneling service. I have no comment on their grooming service as I have not used it.
Our very first time bringing our fur baby here after our usual dog daycare canceled on us. We are very pleased with the service and care provided. We live over 30 minutes away and will continue to bring our Olde English Bulldog here when we need to. Clean and professional, caring and loving staff. The owner is the sweetest and very caring. Loved the nature feel of the kennel. Our pup came home a very happy customer. I'd give them more stars if I could.
Cedar Lane Kennel was a wonderful spot for our 2 year old Corgi. When we picked her up she was happy and energetic. Jeanie was very helpful with scheduling and making sure our dog had her typical diet. Definitely would use this kennel again.
This was the first time using Cedar Lane Kennels but definitely NOT the last. I was initially attracted by the expansive/wooded outdoor space and the homey setting. Jeanie, the owner, raises and has shown her own dogs -- the depth of her canine knowledge shows and is very comforting. My sweet dog is 10 years old and getting finnicky in her old age -- she apparently sulks and eats very little when we board her. Jeanie was incredibly attentive, patient and tried everything she could think of to get my dog to eat. She kept me informed by phone the entire week which I appreciated. My dog could not have been in better hands and I would recommend Cedar Lane Kennels without reservation.
My dogs seem to really enjoy their time at Cedar Lane. At the very least, they always come home looking good and acting happy and healthy. I love that all my dogs get to share playtime together for one price. Also, having brachycephalic dogs that are intolerant to excessive heat and cold, I love that there is an option for indoor playtime. Their boarding prices are very reasonable, and I like the security of having the owners living on the premises. We recently added bath time to the last day of their stay, and they came home smelling fabulous. So far, we have had nothing but positive experiences with Cedar Lane Kennels, and we would recommend them to anyone with dogs in their family.
First time leaving our rescue in a kennel for 12 days since we adopted her a year ago. We were very anxious, but SO HAPPY with the experience! Jeannie and her teams's care were amazing. Our dog isn't comfortable around other dogs, which is one of the reasons why we needed this type of kennel setting. Jeannie guided us through the process. You can really see how much she cares for the dog. Our pet was happy to see us, but also loved and was comfortable so quickly around Jeannie! She did go to say goodbye to Jeannie (until her next stay :)!) It's very affordable, our pet was safe, and we loved the option of playtime, so did our dog. Thank you again Jeannie for taking care so well of Pepper!
I have two pit bulls that I had to kennel for a 3 day weekend -- one senior dog, and the other is 18 months old. Peter and his staff took excellent care of them!! My senior dog has been kenneled before at another place in Downers Grove, and when I picked him up, he was panting, nervous, and shaking for DAYS! It was heart breaking and I felt horrible, because I knew he had a bad experience there!! So when I was kennel shopping, I was extra careful. I stopped by to check out the Cedar Lane Kennel facility before I took my dogs there. I wanted to meet the staff/ owners and see the facility. I was happy I went, because I felt really good leaving my dogs there. And when I picked them up, they were very happy, friendly, well behaved, and overall very well balanced, especially my senior dog!! No stress on him at all!! Everything was great! The groomer at Cedar Lane Kennel also did a very nice job on my dogs. I would definitely kennel them there again.
Very caring owner and staff. Having never boarded our dogs before, felt very comfortable having them there. Our home was damaged by a tornado and Cedar Lane Kennels, took our dogs in for a doggie day care while repairs were being done. They were very generous and kind to do this for us.
