Nick looked after our house in Caversham, Berks and our 2 Bengal cats, Margot & Dottie, for 2 weeks whilst we were on holiday. We had previously arranged a meeting with him at the house some months earlier. This enabled a fairly swift handover but it was clear that Nick was unflappable and likely to be able to cope with pretty much anything. Nick is very easy going and affable, seems reassuringly capable and has a very positive attitude to the pets - 'let them come to me when their ready'. I gather that by the end of his stay, he and Margot had become firm lap friends and it was clear that he had gone out of his way to temp Dottie with food - she can be a fussy eater. Both cats were in good health on our return and Nick had kept us informed a couple of times, via email, during his stay. So much nicer for the cats (and humans) than the yowling trips to a cattery at both ends of a holiday. We arrived home late on a Sunday evening and, by earlier arrangement with Nick, he had left earlier in the day. So, we didn't see him on our return. However, he had set the cat auto-feeders for their supper that night and the house was spotless and such a joy to come home to after a long day's travelling. Bedding had been washed, floors cleaned/hoovered and the limited amount of garden watering (due to auto watering systems) had clearly been done and the water butts re-filled - virtually no rain during his stay. Val was absolutely fantastic! Our shy cat (slightly neurotic) fell utterly in love with her. Val's attention, kindness, and patience with both of our cats made our trip away really easy. She is a cat whisperer for sure! Our home was impeccable. I can not recommend her enough, seriously, this has been a fantastic experience for us and for our cats. Thank you Val! I hope you come again :)
If you are looking for someone that checks all of the housesitter boxes, Jasmine is it. A professional remote worker that is self sufficient and reliable. She went above and beyond by arranging a meeting with our next housesitter when our end date was unexpectedly extended. Her easy going personality made for a seamless transition. We are having Jasmine back in December and hope to have her care for our pets and home in the future. Highly recommend!
Kira is an amazing host! She was really fast at any communication and made sure our stay was a breeze. Winnie and Floofy are just the best! They are both so friendly and gave us so many cuddles. Kira’s home is in a great downtown location too! Near a lot of shops and restaurants and just an amazing spot. We stayed during the heat wave so we were very happy that the pool and gym were available for us! Overall we really appreciated the cleanliness we arrived to and the quick response time if we ever had any questions! We’d definitely come back if she has any dates we’re available for!
