This was an absolutely perfect sit and we feel very lucky to have had the opportunity to do it! Akela is a bright, sweet and loving dog who is just a joy to spend time with. She loves her walks and to play with her ball but at the same time is very chilled. She also loves conversation, hugs and kisses, so we just loved spending time with her! From the moment we came into the home we were treated like family. Christine is so warm and bubbly, both her and Nik are wonderful people with a lovely home in a beautiful location. Outside it’s lush and green with access to a large veggie patch. Inside is a great space, inspirationally decorated and very comfortable. We had the use of their car which made it easy for us to run to the shops. Although their generosity and kindness meant we had a few staples before we even needed to head out. It’s a shame we couldn’t spend more time there; between Akela, the home and the beautiful surrounds, it’s the perfect place to experience Maryland life.
Cambria, Dave and Ziggi were all so delightful! We had some scheduling changes to navigate, and with COVID closures still in full swing, Cambria graciously let me work remotely from her patio during the day and checked in regularly to make sure I had everything I needed. This was my first time using TH and also traveling solo, and it was so nice having Ziggi around. He's very sweet and easy to care for. Overall, I had a wonderful experience and highly recommend the stay!
Bubble was very easy to look after and obviously enjoyed living in the countryside! Antonia's home is large, quiet and comfortable, and the kitchen/dining area is light and airy - ideal for crafting. There is no shop in the village but other village shops are only a few miles away, and there are the usual supermarkets in Brackley. Communication was great too.
The most peaceful stay with 2 adorable sausage dogs. The location is quite magical, on the edge of a wood with lovely walks right on the door step. The house is so lovely, a spacious cottage that feels like a loved home, a place you can relax and curl up with the dogs. Daisy, Darcey and Luna the cat are supper friendly, funny and great company. The dogs are super easy to walk. The bed was more comfortable than any hotel bed I have ever slept in and the silence is really quite special (Only broken by Luna meowing) A short car drive to Marlborough (The shops are amazing) so even though the location is remote you dont feel out on a limb. You will need wellies!
We had a lovely time with Smudge and the chooks at Sophie's cosy home in Richmond. Smudge was a breeze to look after, she loved chasing the ball at the dog park and even came along with us to the local pub for a drink. Sophie's home is in a great location, close to the supermarket and easy to get to with public transport. We would highly recommend this sit.
