Paula and Dave were the most welcoming people. We were made to feel so comfortable and at ease in their beautiful home. Dave cooked us a gorgeous meal the evening before they left. The dogs are a delight, so different but very funny in their own way. The cats are no problem at all. Our bedroom is pure luxury with a fabulous view and a beautiful en suite. We are very much looking forward to sitting for them again in a couple of weeks. Probably the best house/pet sit we have done.
Sitting for Tamari and Duke was wonderful. Tamari is lovely, with prompt responses and super helpful with any questions I had. Tamari's apt is a great location for exploring all of the innumerable cultural opportunities in DC, being just 1 mile from the mall. Public transportation is easily accessible but I also walked. The neighborhood is active with young people and felt safe to walk in all times I was out. Tamari's apt is comfortable and secure, with great, friendly building support from the 24hr concierge coverage at the front desk. But that's not the best part...Duke is the best part! He is the sweetest, smartest dog, and a great companion. We had the best time walking all over, through the surrounding historic neighborhoods or to the mall. He's a very easy dog to walk, doesn't pull, keeps a nice pace, and listens well. We frequented a great dog park; he's great with other dogs, very playful and not aggressive. He can get excited with other dogs on the street but it was easy to read him and adjust. I will be missing that sweetheart for a long while, and hope there's an opportunity to return.
Pet sitting for Patrice was a delight. She made everything so easy and organized. Great notes and easy ways to remember which dog gets which bowl, harness, etc. "Red for Rocko" All the dogs are a joy in their own way. Their personalities are so different and so fun to watch them all interact. They get along so well and are so easy to take care of. I let all 3 of them sleep in bed with me sometimes and they could not be cuter. Rocko likes foot of the bed and Sheba and Ziggi like to snuggle up close. Sheba would pat my face in the morning with her paw if I was snoring :) On nights when I wanted more space they were perfectly happy to sleep on their own in the living room. I walked all 3 together in the mornings and sometimes for one of their walks later in the day. And then would walk 1 or 2 at a time for shorter breaks throughout the day. Sheba and Rocko walk very well together. Ziggi sometimes brings a toy on a walk with her. None of them had an accident in the house the whole time I was there, even on a couple days I was gone for 8 hours exploring the beach towns up the coast. It is a lovely neighborhood and so conveniently located to shops, restaurants and the beach and nature walks. Patrice's home is very modern and comfortable. The Rumba makes it easy to keep the floors clean of dog hair. The patio out back is a great place to relax and the doggies love hanging out there. Patrice has eclectic artwork all around too to make a wonderful atmosphere. I would happily stay again and would recommend this sit without hesitation!
