We did a house sit for Vicki and David for 9 days and we loved every day at this wonderful house. We met Vicki and David about a week before the sit started and from the time we met them both they made us feel at ease and comfortable. When we arrived at the house it was amazing the effort that Vicki had put in to make our house sit very easy. Everything was set out so nothing was confusing. The chickens and sheep were extremely easy to take care of, but the beagle Charlie was an absolute delight to take care of and the most loveable dog. We would love to return one day to this house that was less than 3km to the centre of Woodend but the serenity of the house is amazing. We cannot recommend Vicki and David highly enough as they are a fantastic couple.
Vanessa and James were a delight to sit for. They both made us feel very welcome and at home and even left a care package for us when we arrived. We had the most incredible time caring for Cosette who is an absolute angel and we fell in love with her immediately. What a character! She’s happy to be close by whether it’s snuggling on our laps or strolling through Central Park (her favourite place), just as long as she’s part of the action. She’s easygoing, very friendly and well behaved in cafes and public areas. The apartment is beautiful, has incredible views over Manhattan and is the perfect location to explore the city from. We were in awe every day, what a breathtaking place. We miss Cosette very much and still talk about her often. We hope to come back to care for her again :)
I spent about 2 months looking after the lovely Kami in an apartment close to the beach and beautiful dunes. Almost everything went smoothly, except for some difficulties when Airbnb guests regularly moved into the apartment above me, which is now used exclusively for that purpose. Marga was apparently unaware of this until I asked her about it, as I was concerned about loud and disruptive guests who caused me discomfort and annoyance. The house is old and has absolutely no soundproofing upstairs, which means you can hear people talking and walking around at any time of the day or night, including through the wall to the stairwell. Kami is affectionate and cuddly and demands lots of attention and closeness when she wants it. She will make herself heard with loud cries when she is needy, which can sometimes be too much but is manageable. She has a sensitive stomach, so she may throw up in various places such as the carpet, bed or sofa etc. On sunny days she loves to bask in the sun on the windowsill and most of all she wants to be snuggled and pampered with lots of cuddles and playtime, which she received in abundance from me. The double bed has two 80cm mattresses, but no wedge, so I sank in towards the middle, which affected my sleeping comfort. I tended the plants outside. Communication was easy despite the time difference and my updates were appreciated.
Celia was wonderful to sit for, she was always easy to contact and left a helpful guide. She is a friendly, kind lady and we had a lovely dinner together before she left for her holiday. Gwen is a very cute, friendly dog who loves people. She loved going for walks and car trips making her easy and fun to care for. The house had everything you could need and a charming garden too. The area is beautiful and beside the ocean, so perfect for sea swims and other watersports. I could not recommend this sit enough!
I cannot recommend my recent Trusted House Sitters experience at Biljana and Robert's home with the most adorable Siamese cats, Maui and Moana enough. Starting with the house itself which caters to a really high standard, stunning large modern kitchen/dinning room with an indoors/outdoors feel that has fold-away bifold doors to the large landscaped patio and garden. I really enjoyed sitting outside on the patio area, it reminded me of being on holiday in Spain! Upstairs in the bedroom I slept in was a very comfortable double bed with a flat-screen wall mounted TV. The upstairs bathroom has a beautiful huge free standing bath and there are blue-tooth speakers inside the wall mounted mirror where you can connect music to play if you wish. I thought that was an extremely cool touch. All in all a really enjoyable space to relax in throughout the house. I met Biljana and Robert before they headed off to the airport and instantly was made to feel right at home. They talked me through how to use things in the house and showed me the feeding routeen for Maui and Moana so I felt totally in control before they departed on there trip away. If needed to ask them anything along the sit they explained that they would be available on WhatsApp. Everything went very smoothly, we messaged occasionally to keep up on how their extremely well loved, Maui and Moana were doing. Maui and Moana were an absolute joy to look after! They are Siamese and lived up to being one of the most intelligent and sensitive breeds around. Very loving and thrived on lots of positive play interaction and strokes. Maui talks alot and loved to tell me how his day was going , he would move his head in the direction to show me what he was requesting, like 'please get me my toy out the cupboard' or 'can I have some more food', hah, he was great. Moana, is a lot smaller and quieter, so very sweet and loving. They simply just liked to be around you and also often entertained themselves outdoors out and about. They both get along together really well and it was really lovely to see. By the morning I would often find them curled up together on the bed where I was sleeping. I felt quite privileged :) This sit is a real gem, it sums up all that one would look to experience with a Trusted House Sitters sit. Great hosts, excellent accommodation and gorgeous Cats!
We had a lot of fun sitting for Ben Steph and the lovely Tabu, a loving black lab..we had a great welcome and roast dinner, with the information that we needed for the sit imparted over a glass of wine. We were also treated to a curry on their return too. A great little car was provided, which we made good use of when doing some of the many amazing walks available locally and visiting great towns like church stretton, Ludlow, Bridgnorth and Much Wenlock. The cottage was very homely with a great wood burner and set in the most stunning grounds. We even had a game of tennis. Tabu, was a real pleasure to sit, loving, fun, obedient and always up for a walk. We would definitely sit again here and if we couldn't would recommend to others, who wanted to sit a great dog in a beautiful setting in the fabulous county of Shropshire. We feel that we arrived as sitters and left as friends.. Thanks guys!
