We had a great time taking care of Rocky and Oreo! We fell in love with them instantly, they're the happiest pets we've met, and they are a great pair together. Rocky was a gentle, loving dog who will be your best friend if you give him all the pets! He is very well-behaved and can be walked without a leash. Oreo was a such a sweet pup, she loves cuddles, laying down in the grass and is always happy to see you! We are already missing them! It was a real pleasure to meet Linda, her warm welcome and generosity made us feel at home right away. The house was sparkling clean, extra comfortable and everything worked very well. We enjoyed eating out on the pretty patio, watching the dogs play or laying down next to us. We were lucky to be here when the raspberry and blueberry bushes were in full bloom. The neighborhood is very quiet and ideal to walk the pups. We definitely recommend sitting for Linda if you have the chance to do so, we would come back as soon as we could! Thank you Linda for 2 amazing weeks.
I originally choose to apply for this sit due to the feedback provided from other previous sitters. They were not wrong. Wally is absolutely wonderful to stay with. He is loving, affectionate, CALM (which is a lot to say for a Labrador!), a gentle dog for taking on walks, non-dog reactive when we met other dogs on the walks (maybe a couple of times a little cute whimper when he saw them from across the street), easy to care for, and listens well. The only drawback with Wally is his shedding. However, I think this could be controlled more with perhaps regular grooming. Of course, we brushed him daily after his morning walk and he still was a big shedder. So, maybe that's just him. Renee and John's house is centrally located in Phoenix in a 1950's neighborhood where the majority of the homes are updated (including theirs). It reminded me of a neighborhood I lived in previously for about 25 years. It was fun to take Wally on walks around the neighborhood and view the modifications to each home. Wally's house is also updated, including the kitchen and bathrooms. We found some restaurants nearby that we really liked and went to more than once. (The MacIntosh and Keegans) There is a Dunkin Donut Shop nearby, which we went to almost every morning. Because of the house's location we found we needed about a 20 minute drive to the museums we wanted to go to, they were: The Phoenix Art Museum, The Police History Museum (downtown - which was under construction in many areas, but we managed thanks to GPS in the car), The Hall of Flame Firefighting Museum and the Buddy Stubbs Motorcycle museum located in a Harley Dealership! We had been to the larger museums on a previous sit. Such as the Heard; The Wrigley Mansion; The Musical Instrument Museum and Taliesin West.) We even found a Sunday Brunch with music located in North Scottsdale called the "Local Bistro", which I highly recommend. We could get to each, spend a couple of hours and return within an average of 4 hours. We did need to arrive a day before the sit and had to get a hotel room nearby (many choices & prices) because the house has three bedrooms occupied by the family and they were departing early the next day. This was fine with us as we very much appreciate the opportunities provided to us during the sit. Since this was late May, it was very hot so we did not take part in local hiking. We did, however, go to the Encanto Sports Complex for a little pickleball after completing our "Wally" routine one morning. John and Renee always responded promptly when I texted pictures/videos/comments about Wally (which I probably did more than they wanted.) But he is just so darn cute and knows how to work those puppy dogs eyes.
Great first sit experience, awesome communication with Host. Luna was great a kind cat who loved to cuddle on the couch. House was amazing and local town has everything you need.
Rhona is an excellent hostess she gave us all the necessary recommendations, she was always very attentive, the flat is very comfortable and fresh, Dexter is a complete sweetheart he is friendly, loving, very careful and follows instructions, we enjoyed spending time with him we would definitely come back we miss him a lot he is an amazing dog.
We’d highly recommend petsitting for Traci. Traci was so friendly and welcoming; she had us over the night before she left and went over all the details for the sit. Boden is very sweet and stayed by our side the whole time. He benefits from a calm, confident hand as he’s reactive to some of the neighbourhood dogs. He’s easy to redirect with treats and reassurance and overall a good walker. Smokey is so affectionate, we couldn’t get enough of his cuddles! Traci has a beautiful home and the sunsets from the hot tub were incredible. We would definitely sit here again!
i absolutely loved my time here. roscoe, betty and oliver are all well behaved and independent while also being very sweet and loving. looking after them was easy and enjoyable. the house was beautiful and very clean with an incredible view of the mountain landscape. i have nothing but great things to say all around!
