We felt so lucky to have Eve sit our 2, normally shy, 3 year old cats - she was absolutely marvellous with them. A real cat lover, Eve knew how to look after our cats well and keep them happy. We loved receiving the photos of Charlie and Lola and hearing how everyone was getting on. Eve also took great care of our apartment and it was all clean and comfortable with everything in its place on our return. Eve is a thoughtful, kind, organised, caring person who I wouldn’t hesitate to call if we need another cat sitter. Indeed, she will have sat for us twice by the end of September. Lovely, intelligent, caring lady.
SIMPLY THE BEST. If there were ten stars to give in each category, Whitney deserves every last one of them. We have been fortunate to have had wonderful care for Lola in the past as we have travelled, but never have I felt so completely at ease as I did during Whitney’s stay. She communicated effectively before and throughout her stay and sent the most wonderful pictures and updates which illustrated that Lola was not just at ease herself, but thoroughly happy being with Whitney. Whitney also dealt with several curveballs (which felt monumental to us from such a distance) with incredible grace, ease and good humor. While we were expecting the threat of severe weather to be mainly behind Maine in late March, Whitney weathered not one but TWO unseasonable storms during her stay - both of which caused historic damage and lengthy power outages for hundreds of thousands of Mainers. Without power for more than three days, Whitney could not have been more calm, practical and good natured, even though the first ice storm had not been predicted and most were unprepared. She stoked the fire, drove off the island when it was safe to get cell service to give us updates, and reassured us throughout that she and Lola were just fine. When the power returned, the boiler kicked back in for a night and then shut down. Whitney helped with the coordination of the service technicians and kept us informed throughout. It is difficult to describe the level of mortification we felt that she was having to deal with such unexpected and stressful situations in our absence, but she truly could not have been more gracious, positive, and capable! Both during the unexpected and the more routine parts of her stay, we were able to enjoy such an unusual peace of mind with Whitney in charge - something that was very new to us when we leave Lola. When we return from being away, Lola normally vocalizes her displeasure with us. This time, she was completely quiet and obviously very sad to see Whitney go. It also bears saying that Whitney took time to quite thoughtfully and meticulously clean up before she left - leaving everything actually much nicer than she found it. I really can’t say enough about how incredible Whitney has been, and only hope that we will be fortunate enough to have her come sit again! We will forever be grateful for the warm affection they shared during our time away and for the ability we had to completely relax knowing Lola was in the best possible hands.
