We were a bit nervous as it was our first time both being away from our dog Hedi. We got daily updates of him and looked like he was enjoying his time with Ronja and Rob, which made us less worried. Our place was left cleaned, really appreciate them both

Absolutely incredible. Would have her back again. She sent daily updates and amazing pictures. Made us feel very confident that our cats were in good hands. She made it easy for us to enjoy vacation knowing our cats were well taken care of.

Here’s the review that you asked for:

Judy was very needy regarding many things related to the sit before, during and even after her stay.

I was involved in a car accident a few weeks before her stay, where I was injured (still bearing these injuries to this day) and my car was totaled so I had a very busy schedule with a lot of extra things on my plate. To which she insulted me by adding things in quotations in the review she left me, like “busy” and “chaotic” as if I was lying and my life wasn’t those things or she was questioning me. She also managed to complain about my lack of communication before and during the stay while I was dealing with these personal health issues, in and out of the hospital and doctors appointments and still trying to work full-time.

Less than a day before the sit was scheduled to start she told me her roommate was in the hospital with an infection and wasn’t sure if she was going to have to take care of her. Which would mean she couldn’t stay at my house to watch my dog. While I get emergencies happen, it provided me with last minute stress and no time to rebook the sit a third time, since she was already my replacement for someone else who canceled days prior, if it came down to that. She asked if she could bring my dog to her place, which is not what the arrangements of Zeewoi are, so I quickly reminded her of that.

She ended up being able to watch my dog at my house like she accepted letting me know she still could, with only 20hrs before the stay. But was very persistent on meeting in person before the stay, which is not required by the app. Yet I agreed to do. Even though plans changed a few times I still met with her in person for an hour before I left on my trip. However, she wasn’t satisfied with that and really wanted to be at my house a night early to get acquainted with me and my dog, she even wrote it in my review. If I wanted the stay to start a day earlier, I would have requested that from the start.

We FaceTimed for 36 minutes, days prior to the stay so I could show her my house and give her a full walk through of my dogs routine, my house, and neighborhood, as she requested. However, she still complained in my review that it was a “rushed walk through” the day of, even though I had done the full walk through days before and my profile is VERY detailed on where everything is and what my expectations are in case anyone forgets. So expect to FaceTime & meet her for a significant amount of time before her stay or you’ll hear about it later.

During the course of our communication she also made multiple insulting remarks to me via text. Such as “I’m anti crazy person mentality” after I told her I was running around like a crazy person, trying to get stuff prepared for her arrival/ my leaving and could no longer have her come by the night before. Also, at one point stated “please don’t be rude”, calling me rude while I was being a middle man for communication between her and a friend who was dropping her dogs off at my house before I returned, but after Judy’s sitting. So her choice of words and how she communicates isn’t the most respectful.

She also sent multiple texts about very common sense questions or easy problems to resolve on one’s own, such as, claiming I only had one photo on the website (there were 11), she just didn’t look in the correct place, why the tv wasn’t working (remote batteries had died), how to pull down the blinds (literally pull), and where on my dogs Apple AirTag was on his collar (a collar is only so big). So expect to have to give continuous communication and instruction.

The first few days I received multiple photos and videos of my dog, she even took him to a beach, and on walks, which I could tell he loved. However, the last two days, May 17th & 18th, I received not one single update or photo about my dog like she agreed to provide. This was one of the only requests I asked for from the start was to have one to two updates each day to know my dog was taken care of and happy but didn’t get anything regarding my dog those last two days.

However, she had plenty of time to bother me about her personal mail she had sent to my house those days. Which was never discussed or okayed, as she had no access to, because I had my only mailbox key. When I was back and received her mail she kept asking that I meet her somewhere or let her know when I was passing through Carlsbad to deliver her mail as if it was my responsibility to go out of my way to return it. It should have never been mailed to my house in the first place, there are plenty of other places she could have gotten her mail like an Amazon hub locker (most 7-11s have these) or even her own house which was less than an hour away.

Over two weeks after the stay ended another package of hers from
Amazon was delivered to my address as well, which she told me she didn’t have delivered to my house but clearly listed her name with my address. Whether it was intentional or accidental, it happened even though she denied it. Then two days after that a third package arrived for her from a completely different company. Crazy that with less than a week sit she was treating it as her own address and still getting packages a full month after her stay, of which I had to go out of my way to return to sender on three separate occasions.

She did however, leave the house tidy with the exception of food exploded all over the microwave and bottom of the sink.

She managed to keep my dog and house healthy and in shape while I was away but in terms of all the other stress, lack of updates and disrespect I had to deal with, I would not recommend using her.

Oh and despite having a very well behaved dog and very clean house she still managed to leave me a subpar and inadequate review because I couldn’t meet her needs for communication.

I feel extremely lucky to have been chosen to care for Tania and Jacqueline's trio of cool brother cats. The cats themselves are all so similar at first ... but it doesn't take long for their individual personalities to shine through!
Rufus is the 'homely one' - super smoochy and always keen for a nap!
Florence is the 'adventurous one' - loves to be out and about, and re-fueling often!
Bowie is the biggest - he's also the 'loyal one' - always upstairs in the top room, missing his owner!
So the cats are great - their owners are wonderfully hospitable, helpful, and kind.
The house is amazing - a great location and superbly practical, comfortable, and stylish.
I hope to return for another pet-sit soon, and I may even be lucky enough to care for their adorable dog Cwtch next time, too!
