We had the most incredible stay at Melanie’s looking after the lovely Roxy, Bella & Poppy. Melanie left such helpful information on the local area, lots of walk recommendations, and easy instructions to follow for caring for the pets & home. Communication was so easy & we felt right at home in her beautiful house! Roxy & Bella are the 2 most wonderful dogs. So well behaved, easy to walk & adventure with, and so cuddly in the evenings! Poppy is a cute cuddly cat. All 3 were so sweet :) We’d happily house sit for Melanie again!
This is a great opportunity if you're looking for an authentic farmstay experience in a beautiful part of Wales with lovely dogs and a range of farm animals to keep you busy and entertained. The comfortable farmhouse is set back from the A495 with the dairy farm across the road so expect the sounds and smells of a working farm. The sheep are 2 miles away but only need checking every few days. Same for the love birds. Susie and Jonathan were welcoming and easy going hosts. I arrived a couple of days early which gave me more time to practice the routine. Once I got into the rhythm of the farm it was straightforward. The goats George and Mildred took some coaxing between the stables and their field but by the end they were eating out of my hand. The horses were stabled overnight so the biggest job was mucking them out which took about an hour. Emma, one of the 5 friendly outdoors cats liked to help! Walking Bear and Bea was a joy as they're so well behaved and there are woods and a field up the lane where they can be off lead. Coco stayed home but often joined them in the garden at the front. They're all great friends and will compete to win your lap, even Bear! He's a bit of a chewer so don't leave your shoes (or a tea towel) where he can reach them! I got a last minute message from Susie towards the end of the sit for a contractor to visit to fit an alarm but she rearranged without hesitation when I asked her to delay it till they returned.
I enjoyed this process with Liz and Brent from start to finish. Kind and gracious hosts with excellent communication skills made this a clear and smooth sit. Their home is lovely and comfortable, and the location, about a 10 minute drive from downtown and close to many hikes, is perfect. It's quiet and serene but close to the action. Ellie cat shared so much love with me. She is playful, sweet, and snuggly. She slept with me most nights, and she is incredibly easy to care for. I highly recommend this sit! I never met Ruth but the communication was great. The house is beautiful wIth spectacular vIews of the sea and the cat Llew is a star and very nice company. I would love to petsit again, I recommend Ruth and Llew and the great scenery in this area.
Anita and Lou took all the time necessary for me and the animals to get to know each other. The first minutes, the dogs were very animated! They were really excited to have visitors. But afterwards, they calmed down and maintained a good behavior throughout my stay. They were easy to walk both together but you need to have Gloria's leash well in hand as she can go after a squirrel without warning. Otherwise, it was very pleasant to discover their beautiful neighborhood with the dogs. (Thank you Lou for the neighborhood street map). With the invisible fence, it is very easy to take care of them. Rafael on his side tells you when you should feed him, when you should pet him and when you should let him out. He is totally adorable just like Gloria and Raven who are true loves! This is an easy and enjoyable dogsit! Thank you for trusting me with your pets!
