I had a lovely sit with Amelia! Caroline and Ray are kind and accommodating and have a lovely home. Amelia is a very sweet girl and no trouble at all! Would highly reccomend this sit!
You could not ask for a nicer couple than Robyn and David, nor better introduction to Nelson. They were incredibly generous, showing me the best spots for everything from walking Winnie to shopping, swimming, or getting a coffee; and they introduced me to their friends. They also were great with invaluable lessons: coffee machine, car, alarm, etc. Winnie, our Retrolabradoodle (I’m part of the Winnie family now) is so well-behaved that other dog-people would stop in cafés and the local dog playground to wistfully comment. And I had the privilege of caring for Chinchilla / Birmin Maggie in her final weeks; she had dementia and kidney troubles but allowed me to comfort her while she hung on to say goodbye to her adoring and adored humans. Rob and David also live in a one-of-a-kind neighbourhood with equally unique neighbours. This is a truly special housesit.
I had a wonderful weekend sit at Christina's lovely Berkeley home. Feist was friendly immediately while Franny hid in her secret spot for much of the first day but ended up cuddling on my lap by evening. They are sweet, funny, very easy cats to care for. Christina was great at communicating what was needed and answering my questions. Her home is immaculate and well-organized and the guest bedroom had the most comfortable mattress and pillow I've ever slept on! I would happily return to take care of Feist and Franny any time.
It was an absolute pleasure to sit for Alan and Susie. It was our first sit experience with THS and we couldn’t have asked for a better one. We visited the house about a week before the sit and right from the get go Alan and Susie made us feel very at ease and welcome in their home. They have a gorgeous cottage in a beautiful part of the countryside. The aga fills the house with warmth and the kitchen is light and lovely - the perfect place to WFH. The log burner in the snug made for sumptuous, cosy evenings after dinner. It was also glorious to have endless woodland and field walks right on your doorstep, to watch the birds from the kitchen window and the deer on the common. Totally idyllic. But the star of the show was Ozzy. Fair to say we absolutely fell in love with this wonderful dog. He is gentle and affectionate but also playful and full of energy. Walks with Ozzy were a delight. Off the lead, he’d go bounding off in to the wood or across the field but would always come back when called. On lead, he didn’t tug and patiently waited til it was safe to be let off. He is very happy while out and about. Most days he had a couple of hours but at the weekend we doubled that and he was pooped but very contented. Whilst working from home, he was the best companion, curling up in front of the aga most of the time but providing happy distractions when he wanted to nose in for a cuddle. At the end of the week, it was hard to leave him. We are already looking forward to our next sit at Nairne cottage.
I just finished a wonderful sit for Jules and Roddy in their little cottage on a large rural estate outside Stirling. What a peaceful, private and beautiful place it is. Of course, what made the sit so special was the company of their two pups, Aggie and Jesse (Migs to her friends). These girls are so affectionate and well-behaved, and caring for them was an absolute pleasure. I loved our long walks along the river (they adore retrieving the sticks you toss in!) and through the wooded paths. I loved our evenings snuggling on the couch together just as much. It was very difficult to say goodbye to them — I bonded pretty hard and miss them. The home is warm, cozy, and very comfortable. There’s a conservatory overlooking the garden, which is filled with beautiful birds visiting the numerous feeders all day long. What a serene spot to linger in the late afternoon, dogs at my side. Jules and Roddy are terrific hosts, very warm, generous, and extremely appreciative (they brought me back a gift of amazing Turkish Delight from their travels there!). Communication was great and they were always available to answer questions, but it was all so easy that I had none. I would do this sit again in a heartbeat, and very highly recommend it. I know any sitter will also fall in love with Aggie and little Migs. Thank you, Jules and Roddy, for sharing them with me. I loved my time there.
If I could give more than 5 thumbs up, I would! Michael was so welcoming, accommodating, and was sure to provide a detail-oriented guide to caring for Gucci, Auggie, and the lovely apartment. Gucci and Auggie were amazing kitties!! Waking up to Auggie snuggling beside us and begging for neck rubs was precious. And Gucci was so sweet! We loved when she would cuddle next to us on the sofa as we watched TV. Both of the kitties were so charismatic, playful, loving, entertaining....I could go on! Michael’s apartment also made this sit a special one. The artwork in the apartment truly made us feel like we were in an art gallery! Everything about the space was wonderful. It’s the perfect place to work/study from home, and even better with cool cats by your side. We highly recommend this sit, but beware - we will be applying for it any chance we can!! Thanks again Michael, Gucci, and Auggie.
