First off, Carys is absolutely LOVELY and so it's difficult (and uncomfortable) to write a negative review, but for us, this house sit was disappointing. We had originally advertised for a cat sitter, but our circumstances changed prior to the sit (no cat now), and instead we needed someone to be there just to water the plants. We have two well stocked courtyards of plants back and front of the house. Carys was happy to do this. The brief was to water and deadhead the plants DAILY. We returned to find the plants in the front courtyard absolutely parched. Soil completely dried out in most pots, plants limp and most of the flowers in our two window boxes dead. Nothing had been deadheaded. The front courtyard certainly hadn't been watered in a while. (The back courtyard at least had been watered, which was good). Whilst Carys had left the house relatively tidy, it hadn't been cleaned (ie: cleaning products used to wipe down the kitchen surfaces, cooker, bathroom, wash the floor, polish furniture etc). After being in the house for 3 weeks we would expect the house sitter to do a thorough clean throughout the house for our return. Not leave us to have to start doing it when we arrive back. It was disappointing. Carys is lovely and had been kind enough to leave us a note, flowers and a bottle of wine, but I feel she needs a better understanding of what taking care of a home fully entails. I'm sure this will be a learning curve for her, and our comments will be taken forward for future sits. Carys we really wish you well.

Great communication, house was left clean, and although I didn't get to meet Milly in person, my husband said she and her sister were pros and knew our boys would be in good hands.

This was our first house sit, we were incredibly lucky as Sarah and Brian were soo lovely and welcoming, making us a home cooked meal on our first night which allowed a smooth transition for Gummo and Miss Kitty.
Sarah and Brians home is beautiful, warm and comfortable, in an amazing area on the outskirts of Bergerac. We walked into town frequently and also walked around the vineyards behind the house. We particularly enjoyed daily walks around the Parc de Pommebonne, (3 mins walk from the house) which includes a swimming lake, red squirrels and numerous hides to watch the bird life, frequented mainly by locals its a gem and so close by. There are numerous cycle tracks, we particularly enjoyed cycling along the Dordogne River to Lalinde for a lovely lunch.
There are perfect reading spots in the garden, ideal for catching the afternoon sun. The roosting starlings in the garden are superb and a wonderful sight to see in the evening.
Gummo and Ms Kitty were perfect and its very easy to become attached to them both. Ms Kitty is timid initially but it's wonderful to see her zoomies when she feels more confident with you. Gummo is irresistible, he is a loving and has a calm nature. Both dogs are easy to care for and you'll fall for them both. Both dogs take medication twice daily but Sarah has easy to follow stress free instructions.
Sarah and Brian were well organised and great communicators, Bruce and I felt at ease throughout the sit.
Great first experience of house sitting, many thanks to Sarah and Brian.

Florence
Thank you Flo and Anthony for sharing your home and your two lovely pussycats with us. We were a big nervous about being in a city but we got on fine with excellent instructions about which bus to catch to go into the city which we did three times. Also we were able to enjoy many parks, and three National Trust properties. Frankie and Greyson were great cats to look after. They are very independent but loved a good stoke and to curl up close to us to sleep. It was fun to shake the biscuit container and call them and hear the tingling bells come from afar. We recommend this housesit. The cats are great, Flo and Anthony are great and responded quickly if we needed to contact them and the area is lovely too, and more like a village than part of a city. We felt safe and chatted to the locals when we were out and about. We will remember our time here.

Thank you very much dear Sheena for an amazing week in your cozy house in the beautiful area of Amberley. We have had a fantastic time with such clever dog Rolo and the lovely cats. Would be very happy to sit for you again.

This was one of our longest pet-sitting experiences, lasting a memorable 7 weeks. Fondee, the lovable cat, made it an easy and enjoyable time. We had our daily routine of brushing and giving Fondee scratches, which typically lasted for about 15 to 30 minutes, because she just loveees all the attention and the feeling of being scratch behind her ears makes her drool 🤤 literally 😂. She would visit us on the different rooms when we are working and not paying enough attention, she just wants to be around the both of us most of the time which is very cute and endearing.

We also had the pleasure of taking Fondee for walks on the Sky view deck of the condo, which was part of the Stirling complex. This condo had amazing facilities, including 4 swimming pools, a gym, and a tennis court.

In our opinion, this pet-sitting experience deserved a perfect 10/10 rating. We couldn't have asked for better hosts than Billy and Eleanor.

Nina
I had a great time housesitting for Nina - Achilles, Crispy and Nova are lovely pets. The house was in a calm location, 5 minutes from the shops and about 1 hour from Liverpool (1 bus and 1 train). There are some nice walks along a stream and in forested park which are easily accessible with plenty of foot/bike paths.

Before the housesit, Nina was very easy to contact and she explained everything when I arrived and left some instructions as well. The house is very comfortable with everything you need. Nina was also very kind to pick me up at the station and stop at a shop to get a few groceries.

Achilles, Crispy and Nova are all very affectionate and friendly and will cuddle with you at any time! Although Achilles and Crispy take a lot of your attention , Nova will ask for some especially in the guest room! Achilles and Crispy were great to walk with.

This sit was just great! We stayed a week with Leo, Cleo and Little One. They are all huge cuddlers and we loved every minute spent with them. The house has everything you need and it was perfect to stay by the pool with the dogs (Little One stays indoors all the time).
LeeAnne and Zack are very kind and made us feel welcome and comfortable.
We definitely recommend this sit to everyone!
