Sitting for Rachel was very simple and smooth. Pepper and Sybil are both lovely kitties; we had the pleasure of their company for a week - they took a couple of days to start to warm up (understandable in response to home invaders!) and Pepper is the more confident of the two.

We let them have some time in the garden on our second day because they were both desperate to have a sniff of the garden; Pepper decided to have an adventure that evening and not come home when called. Rachel was very reassuring and, as she suspected (the cheeky girl doesn't mind a nighttime adventure and can happily look after herself), Pepper was ready and waiting confidently for her breakfast the next morning. A couple of days later (we wanted to ensure they were more used to us and there were a couple of 30+ degree days), we let them out again and they were much calmer, with Pepper dipping in and out of the house, so easy to get inside again as long as you keep an eye out. She was pretty relaxed around us from the get-go, but does let you get a bit closer to her as time goes by which is lovely to see.

Sybil was still a bit sceptical by the end of the week (missing her family!), but mostly stays close to the house and you can catch her if needed. Again, she had warmed up rather but she seems a bit more wary of playing with strangers than her sister. They will both have a good go at a piece of string as long as you meet them on their level (Sybil prefers to bat at it when she's hiding under the bed or around a corner to start with), and this will help earn their trust.

Would recommend you keep them inside for an extra couple of days if you want to avoid a nighttime adventure, but it's a balance between them having a great time and ensuring you know where they are. What worked for us in the interim was playing more on days they were inside, but Rachel knows her cats and was great at getting back to our questions.

If you have a chance to spend time with this lovely pair, do so; and thanks for a lovely sit, Rachel!
