Dog Sitters in Distillery District

Franci looked after our cats and house for a month and was wonderful! She’s an excellent and timely communicator, and was very proactive, both before and during her stay, in terms of asking questions and confirming/clarifying anything that wasn’t clear from our end. It was clear from that that she's not only self-sufficient, but really thinks ahead and cares about details as well. She kept the house and garden area looking great! She’s also excellent with pets - it sometimes takes our cats some time to get used to new friends, but it’s clear from the frequent photos and updates Franci sent that she bonded with them immediately. In fact, a former stray we adopted just weeks before her visit was still shy and tended to stick to one room of the house; by the time we returned from her trip, this former homebody was confidently trotting around the entire house, exploring and interacting with our other cats! Franci was great about giving medication regularly to one of our cats, which gave us peace of mind during our travels. We’re very grateful she stayed with us, and recommend her highly – thanks, Franci!

Olivia took care of my three cats for two weeks. Two of my cats were orphaned at 2 weeks old and haven’t known too many humans, while my other cat is a recent street rescue who had to be socialized to be around humans. All three absolutely adored Olivia, especially my shy street cat, who seemed to like her way more than he likes me! Olivia also had to deal with an unfortunate and unforeseen apartment disaster. Throughout the whole ordeal she was level-headed and competent in getting the issue resolved. We really appreciated this and everything else she did to take care of our babies. We’d be happy to have her sit for us again.

We feel extraordinarily lucky to have found Lesley and Jordan. Our older Bernese Mountain Dog, Eva, was immediately a beloved member of their family. They took her on daily hikes, walks and everywhere else they went. She played with other dogs, dined in local restaurants and from the pictures they sent, completely enjoyed her time with Lesley and Jordan. She almost seemed disappointed when we came home. Jordan and Lesley sent us regular updates and went above and beyond to work with some stomach issues Eva had at the beginning of their stay. Not only was Eva very well taken care of, if not a bit spoiled :-), but we returned to find the house and car spotless and fresh baked cookies, homemade pizza dough and rolls waiting for us. We were able to spend the night before our departure with Lesley and Jordan and they are delightful. We feel very fortunate to have found them would have them sit for us again in a heartbeat.

The sit was actually done by Silvana, Leonidas' wife, who travelled from her home in Aruba to do the sit. We didn't meet Leonidas but he did come to stay for a few days. Silvana took great care of our elderly dog, Barney. She gave him his supplements and gave him gentle walks, as agreed - and lots of affection. Silvana also communicated well, sending regular news, photos and videos of Barney without us having to ask her for news, which was a plus. Barney was happy and in great shape on our return.

Kathryn is an angel!!! She loved the animals, kept the house clean, and is a wonderful communicator and person!!!

Lauren was the ideal sitter! She looked after our cat so well, he's usually very very nervous but we could tell from the pictures and videos that Lauren sent us that he warmed up to her much faster than he does with other strangers! Lauren was so helpful to us while we were traveling, we needed to check in with things at home for various urgent reasons and she was just so quick and clear to communicate with us. 10/10 would have Lauren back at our place again!

Gillian arrived early from Toronto (with a lovely gift!) so we could meet in person & she could get the lay of the land. She left for the airport right after work to fly into Vancouver and i really appreciated the effort - it was comforting. Lovely, warm, trustworthy person. She Answered all my texts promptly and sent pics of my beloved fur buddy every time, which as we all know is everything! And since my cat was in Gillian’s lap or on the bed with her in the pictures i knew he was at ease and liked her. I came home after a delayed flight and there was dinner in the fridge which was delicious & a nice bottle of wine. I would have her back and highly recommend her.

Matt was great. He met with the pets and walked through our routine prior to our trip. He sent periodic updates and handled everything professionally. Highly recommend

Nika did a great job of taking care of our dog and two cats, despite a fairly demanding work schedule. Neighbours commented on how our dog took to her and how happy the pets were. We appreciated the pictures and updates that Nika sent us while on our trip.

Egi was very gentle and loving with my dog. He is very cautious around new people but he warmed up to her right away. Egi communicated clearly and promptly before and during the sit and was reliable and responsible. She took good care of Plato and my plants also. Thanks Egi.

Ciara stayed in our home with our dog and three cats for 5 days, and she was great! She was super flexible on our departure day so we could connect in person before we left. She seemed comfortable and self sufficient and sent periodic updates. Our dog started a new medication right before Ciara came which was tricky to give, and we had to keep mixing up the way we presented it. But when our pup decided she was over the medication, Ciara tried different approaches until something worked. We are grateful as that method is still working for us! Our pets were very comfortable snuggling up with Ciara, and we came home to happy fur babies and a tidy home. We would definitely have Ciara again and highly recommend her for your pet sitting needs!
