Caring for the 30 Rambaud farm friends for a week over Thanksgiving was a wonderful experience. It was great to meet the family for a 90 minute tour before their departure, to go through the food, water, hay and cleaning duties for the animals. There is a lot to remember initially, but there are excellent written instructions in the barn and the house for reference. Communication with Alasdair and Christine prior to and during the sit was excellent and they responded immediately to any questions that arose. This sit is perfect for true animal lovers. The dogs are your constant companions and they love racing around together on the back lawn which is securely fenced. Socks the cat only appeared a few times, but Shadow loves attention and will sit on your lap for hours. Ringo the little donkey loves to have his butt scratched and Dominick the donkey is a gentle soul who enjoys chin scratches. The horses, Starr and Albany, are gorgeous and it was a joy to take care of them. The chickens and ducks are hilarious. Each have their own personality and their delicious daily eggs were such a treat. The outdoor cats are friendly and receive their meals up at the barn. The house is very clean and comfortable and we appreciated the quality linens, towels, cookware and appliances. The internet service is very good, so joining work meetings was no problem at all. Can’t stop thinking about the amazing experience and definitely hope to return for a future visit.
Everything was perfect! Teddy and Lucy are the sweetest dogs, Karen's house is very cozy and charming. I had a wonderful time spending time with the doggies by also getting to know Clapham a bit more. Overall a wonderful experience!
William is an incredible host with a beautiful home and heart! The apartment is spacious, clean and central to all your travelling needs. Most importantly Winston is an absolute angel, the best cuddle buddy, and not to mention a local celebrity! Thank you both for all your kindness and hospitality.
Highly recommend! The host: Conway and Rebekah were excellent. They are very welcoming and friendly couple. They made me feel at home. We kept in touch every day. Prior sit we had in-person tour so I knew everything about the house. The house: House in a fantastic area of London, 5 minutes walk to Greenwich park and the river Thames. Convenient location, easy access to the buses, train. Loads of shops, cafes and bakeries within walking distance. The neighborhood felt quiet and safe. The cats: I enjoyed being around Roo and Noli. They are independent and love spending time in the garden but also like company and cuddles. Roo was a bit shy at first. It took her few days to warm up to me but once she felt comfortable, we had a great time. Noli is very affectionate and attention loving, she will come and ask for cuddles. Both very loving, energetic and playful kitties.
Sitting for Jennifer and her lovely family was an unbelievably amazing experience. They are very generous and friendly people and we felt like being part of the family from the first moment. The communication with Jen and Tristan was very easy and they take the time to show you everything in the area and share their enthusiasm for the place. The house is very cosy, comfortable and has everything you can ask for. The garden around the house is huge and accommodates some forest space too, just amazing! You feel right at home. From the house we were also overlooking a wetland, which was terrific! The location is breathtaking. Sproat Lake with its surrounding forests is the perfect place to enjoy the nature of Vancouver Island. The nice town of Port Alberni is also just a 15-minute ride by car away and gives many opportunities for buying groceries or going out to eat. The dogs are wonderful, very cute and always up for a walk through the forests with you. They also like excursions to the Westcoast which is just stunning! or any other place in the area. You can play with Zillo in the large garden around the house all day long and he will never be tired. He is very energetic and a lovely, very good boy. Kitoko is the boss and she knows that :D she is very smart but also very cute and dear. You will love those two and miss them a lot when you leave! They love to spend time with you indoor and outdoor. We also had some unforgettable trips with the kayak on Sproat Lake in misty winter atmosphere. Highest possible recommendation. We would love to sit again and are so happy for the wonderful experience.
Olive is a beautiful dog, who was a joy to be around - full of love. The home was provided in an excellent state and is located in a cute street very well situated in Surry Hills nearby public transport, cafes and restaurants.
