We had the privilege of looking after Maggie for a winter week. Over those seven days we fell a bit in love with this happy, friendly and characterful dog. She was a little quiet and reluctant to make friends at the beginning but once we proved we knew the routine and could be trusted to follow it, she relaxed and allowed us to be her temporary tribe. Sally is a great host. She is both welcoming and friendly providing us with detailed information about the house and Maggie. Before and during the sit communication was easy and helpful. The house is very comfortable, with a separate apartment for us. The location is good for exploring, shopping and close to an excellent local pub serving very good food. We very much appreciated the trust placed in us to look after lovely Maggie and this beautiful house. Thank you Sally.
From the outset, Celie and Mike were really welcoming, generous and friendly. We felt at home straight away and they showed us where everything was and how the home and staff operated. Their beautiful house is situated within a few feet of the river and has stunning views over woodland and a huge millpond. We were super comfortable during our six week stay, with a huge king sized bed and en-suite shower room and a separate bathroom. The wildlife is abundant and a large variety of birds comes onto the feeders. Hundreds of dragonflies and damselflies acrobatically flew around the house and a marvellous balcony off the lounge, that overhangs the river itself! It was so tranquil and the village had several lovely pubs and artisan shops. There are also a few small supermarkets within a ten minute walk, and larger ones only a few miles away. We visited historic Colchester, Mersea Island, Audley End House, farm shops, garden centres and lots of beautiful villages on the recommendations of Celie and Mike. There were lots of footpaths to walk on and and cricket to watch on a Sunday, all right on your doorstep. Communications were excellent throughout the sit and we kept in contact every few days or so. If you are fortunate enough to be chosen to sit here in the future, you are very lucky and will absolutely love it. What an amazing sit! I am sure it will stay on my top 3 of best sits for ever! Where to begin? First, Laurence and Alain are so nice and arranging. Everything was smooth, communication was great, infos were clear. I had the chance to share a dinner night with Laurence and Alain upon their return and was spoiled with a delicious meal at one of their favorite local restaurants. Interesting conversations and great stories, it was a real pleasure. About the two furry stars of the house: they are a delight! Mouchette is a beautiful and elegant cat, so soft you would think her fur is made of silk. She's living her best life under the Algarve sun. She loves to play and tries to catch all the insects and geckos, especially those who dare enter the house. She is shy at first but will definitely show signs of affection and ask for cuddles after getting used to your presence. And Chocolate the panther! He is just a pure loving cat with a bubbly personality. He loves to sleep and be near you whatever you're doing (being on your lap no matter in which position he'll have to lay/sit). I absolutely loved our time together, I really got attached to these two and already miss our little daily rituals. About the house ... Well, it is wonderful. Truly wonderful. Decorated with taste, spacious, filled with light, lots of charm, style, quiet, with a pool and an incredible garden with lots of singing birds, plants and trees that release amazing smells and / or offer delicious fruits... I immediately felt at home and very very confortable. You can see hills, the sea and the beautiful sunsets from many spots in the garden and inside the house. The location is really great, a few minutes by car or bike from the sea with many different beautiful beaches where you can run, paddle, surf, ... Cafes, restaurants, supermarkets are close-by, very handy. I cannot recommend this sit enough and I would absolutely love to come back. Thank you again so much Laurence and Alain for giving me the opportunity to stay in your beautiful home and have the chance to meet the four of you. Laura & Alex are incredibly kind, welcoming, wonderful people and their home parallels with a beautiful energy and truly breathtaking views of the Bay Area. So incredibly peaceful and relaxing was our stay with the best of company - Petunia, Stash, and Tavi who are all very low maintenance and sweet. The furbabies were a joy to care for and added to the calm & zen environment surrounding us. This sit was a true treat and a gem of an opportunity. We give our highest recommendation and big big gratitude for these wonderful people, pets, and home!

Their attention to detail truly stood out— they provided us with an incredibly comprehensive guide that helped us settle in effortlessly. It was evident that they had gone the extra mile, even preparing some things in advance for our arrival. The apartment itself was a gem. Impeccably clean and fully equipped with all the essentials, it was a home away from home. Located in a picturesque area with the added bonus of a pool, the setting couldn't have been more perfect. But what truly stole our hearts were their adorable cats, Prince and Sahara. These two furry companions were not only the cutest cats we've ever encountered but also incredibly easy to care for. Spending time with them was an absolute delight, and it added a special touch to the entire pet sitting experience. Overall, we can't give anything less than a glowing 5-star review for our time as pet sitters for Andreas and Jennifer.
