Eric and Ri have a lovely 2-story home nestled in the hills of San Pablo with a gorgeous view of San Francisco in their dining nook, where we enjoyed coffee every morning and soaked in the view. Their home was well stocked with everything we could need, including all the kitchen tools, and they generously shared their pantry supply with us too. The central heat worked super well, and their home is decked out with Alexa's in every room, which were fun and convenient to interact with. Eric was very kind, professional and communicative before, during and after the sit, giving us a detailed tour of the house before our stay to ensure we felt prepared and had a chance to get acquainted with their pets. Bert and Ethyl are sweet pups, who warmed up quickly and loved our attention and affection. Our main challenge with caring for them was during walks, as both dogs are reactive on leash and rather strong willed. The neighborhood doesn't have sidewalks and the many territorial dogs in the neighboring homes created a bit of stress during our walks. However, they're really sweet and low maintenance at home. A couple who feels equipped and experienced with handling two strong pups on multiple daily walks would be the most ideal fit for Bert and Ethyl. Otherwise, they're fun loving dogs who are big cuddle bugs, and will make you feel right at home. The downstairs is devoted to the cats who live separately from the pups upstairs. Both kitties are sweet and low maintenance, so it felt easy to be at home with all four animals. Overall, the Samcott residence provided a warm and welcoming stay. We appreciated getting to know and connect with their sweet fur family!
I had a wonderful three weeks looking after Scrabble, Trouble and Loki at Jenny and Johnathan’s very comfortable apartment, which is part of Bentham Hill House, located in its own beautiful parkland with resident wild deer which I was lucky enough to see on a few occasions. The other human residents are very friendly and helpful, which came in handy when I accidentally locked myself out of the building on the first day. The location is beautifully quiet and peaceful but close to Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells and a great location to explore all that Kent and Sussex has to offer. The three cats were very easy to look after and Jenny gave me a great insight into their different personalities beforehand, which was very helpful. Scrabble was my little shadow and happy to stay close by, his brother Trouble was very easy going but more independent, and Loki was shy at first, taking a little longer to relax, but eventually was happy to have a tickle on his head and found his voice, letting me know if he thought I should feed him or let him out. Thank you Jenny and Johnathan for the opportunity to stay in your lovely home and look after Scrabble, Trouble and Loki, I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Bentham Hill House and I would certainly recommend this housesit.
We had a lovely time with Paul in Copenhagen over New Years. He is a cute, affectionate puppy and was a joy to look after. The apartment was well located, not too far from public transport and supermarkets. Xiaohan was very responsive and helpful throughout our stay.
We love this place! This was our 6th sit with Rebecca & Jay. We started to sit for them in 2020. For us, this is like coming home. We love their 5 dogs, 3 horses, and 2 cats. The dogs are around us all day. They like the attention we give them. After our 1st sitter job, they even recognized us when we came back. It was love at first sight. Although it might sound a little tough to take care of all these animals, it really isn’t. The dogs and cats get food twice a day. We feed the dogs in the garage and the cats inside. They even know their bowls, and there is no fighting. Rebecca always has a detailed description of which horse needs to get which food and how much. Each horse gets a little different food, but it’s really easy to follow these instructions. Bringing the horses in and out to and from the pasture was something we never did before, but this was also very easy. They all know what’s coming and where they are supposed to go. They follow whoever is leading them. A cookie or another treat will always help if they have one of their days…. Cleaning the stables is good exercise. Rebecca explains everything in detail, and it really isn’t hard. Everything was close, and we were able to do it even though we had no experience the first time. There are not many reviews for Rebecca and Jay because we did all our other sits outside the system. Sadly, we have already accepted another sitter job next year when they will go to see their son and grandson in Japan for the first time after Covid. The grandson was born before Covid closed travel to and from Japan, and they have never had a chance to see them since. We are so sad we can’t do this sit for them, and we hope they can find someone who loves pets the same way we do. These dogs will make your day. The 2 Bearnaise mountain dogs will cuddle with you whenever you have a minute. The Pitbull mix is the calmest we have ever seen. She’s an older lady, and love is all you get from her. Beaux is a huge white Sheepdog. He sleeps inside the house at night, but you won’t even notice he is there unless there are coyotes roaming outside. And the last one is Grace. She is a calm, older, and smaller mix dog that will stay on the porch all day. They all love to walk. Rebecca and Jay allowed us to use their Truck to go to a few very nice trails in the area. If you are a pet lover you will never forget this sit. The house is big and comfortable. Rebecca and Jay are the most lovable and generous people we have ever met.
Our time house sitting for Nadine and Luc in Herisson, France was an absolute delight from start to finish. Nestled within the charming old town, their beautifully decorated home became our sanctuary for a memorable month-long stay. Taking care of Louis and Marie, the adorable cats, added a special touch to our experience. Louis, with his unmistakably loud purr, and Marie, the sweet, sleepy, clingy cat who would happily stay on your lap for eternity, quickly became our beloved companions. The internet connection was great throughout our stay, allowing us to work remotely without any hassle. And being just 50 steps away from the picturesque riverside made our daily walks an absolute pleasure. Nadine and Luc's hospitality knew no bounds. They graciously spent the first two days with us, ensuring we were well-acquainted with the area and introducing us to the warm-hearted locals who would become an integral part of our experience. Their thoughtful gestures, including providing provisions and connecting us with helpful resources, truly made us feel at home. Speaking of the locals, the sense of community in Herisson is unparalleled. From the vibrant street market featuring local delights every Friday to the generous gestures of the villagers who went out of their way to assist us, we felt embraced by the warmth and hospitality of this tight-knit community. Exploring the village revealed a treasure trove of delights. Music gigs, pizzas, and the patisserie offering the most heavenly chocolate croissants and freshly baked bread became cherished parts of our routine. And let's not forget the weekly visit to the local farm, where we indulged in the freshest vegetables and artisanal bread. Our time in Herisson was something that we will never forget and happily repeat, Nadine and Luc are great hosts and if you are lucky enough to do this house seat you will understand why we fell in love with all of Herisson!
