I had the loveliest stay with Teasel and Maggie. Jon and Carolyn offered to video call to see if we were a good match as we live quite far apart. On the first day of the sit they kindly picked me up from the station, which is about a 10-15 minute drive away though there is also a bus on week days. I felt very welcomed into their home, which is very comfortable and has everything you might need. I can imagine it's perfect if you have to work from home. Because the weather was gorgeous I spent most time either in the garden with the dogs or on walks and runs with them! The bedroom was very comfortable too though, with a view of the horses and ponies in their fields, which was lovely to wake up to. There are many gorgeous shaded walks in the area, and the Butt & Oyster pub is only 15 mins away, where you have a view over the river and the boats. Jon and Carolyn are super communicative, and it was easy to stay in touch. The dogs are very easy to care for, very affectionate, especially Maggie. They enjoy going on walks, even though Maggie can be a bit scared/yappy when there are other dogs near but she's a sweetie really. Teasel is very easy going and always hoping you'll drop some bread crumbs etc... :) I'd definitely recommend this sit to anyone who likes a relaxed and comfy pet sit and I would love to go back any time the dates are suitable.
Donna went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable in her home. She left me beverages and snacks to enjoy, left the place spotless, and gave excellent instructions on how to care for her cat Sheba (who can be a little shy at first). I enjoyed my time there, exploring the area and bonding with her adorable kitty. I would not hesitate to go back again. Thank you Donna for everything!
Pou is amazing, a lovely kitty 🐱 super sweet and adorable if I had to use a word to describe him I will say he is an independent cat, honestly you don’t need to do much for him as he is mostly outside, nahomi is great super fast to respond and kind, this was an amazing sit!
I was so happy to catsit Kaia! She is the sweetest, loveliest cat who is a pleasure to be around and take care of. Jacob and Wendy are also very welcoming and supportive. The house is conveniently located near a park, a subway station and lots of shops - the area feels very safe and comfortable. Overall, I had a perfect experience and would love to catsit Kaia again if given the chance.
I had the most wonderful time meeting Libby and Flynn. Libby’s home is beautiful and situated in Whistler, which offers great snow and outdoor activities depending on the season. Flynn himself is incredibly loving and chilled. He’s also a very intelligent dog which is super handy; the one time I forgot to give him a treat after lunch, he made me aware instantly, haha. I’m incredibly grateful to both for my trip to the mountains and hope to return soon.
We had a wonderful stay at Cathy’s place! Masey and Maverick are adorable and excited to be around you! Masey is a cute lap lady. She loves to cuddle with you when you are on the sofa. The sweetest moment is if you pat her, she will turn her belly towards you and sleep like a baby. Maverick is affectionate. He will follow you everywhere in the house. In the morning, he will sleep near your bed and patiently wait to give you a big hug when you wake up! It was also fun to walk Masey and Maverick outside! They know their neighborhood and can lead us to explore different parts. And they even knew how to get home before we figured it out. Cathy is super friendly and caring. We got a chance to meet Cathy in person during this stay. She shared with us many tips for navigating the city, neighborhood, and house. She was very kind to let us access almost everything and wanted to make us at home! Cambridge is a great place that is accessible to various restaurants and is not far away from Niagara Falls and Toronto. I strongly recommend Cathy’s place if you are near the area!

My elderly mother needs a pet boarder for the holiday. Alpha dog requested my mother to visit with her 15 year old dog once and then requested three more Visits. They kept her dog five hours each visit promising she was reserved for a holiday week stay. (12/23-27). On her fourth visit they canceled her holiday week reservation indicating her dog is barking in her cage. My mother spent a total of $200, when this pet observation could have been 4 hours NOT 20. On some level it appears like a scam and taking advantage of the elderly. .Be warned.

I am a local resident who began bringing my 1.5 year old Standard Poodle, Majik, for daycare a few months ago. The daycare service was great, and everyone that I had spoken with was so informative and thorough, verifying our dog's vaccination/health status. Our main focus was gaining control of the smartest (of 4) standard poodles. While we did a few sessions with recommended training professionals, Alpha Dog had been so effective for daycare, we called to inquire about daycare and training that allowed us to have him to share our beds while they did the training. It has been an incredible experience! The training manager, Samantha McCabe, set up his weekly schedule was very helpful with setting up his weekly schedule, guided us through our outdoor and in-home concerns. His primary trainer, Tiana, and Sierra, handled Majik with such care, working with him out at Crissy Field and the Mill Valley Dop Run 2x a week. After only a few sessions, we noticed an enormous (quantum leap!) increase in his responsiveness. He now comes running even if distracted by other dogs (which are his favorite). She even worked with us at the beach to show us how to continue reinforcing the training! He comes, he stops and drops mid run, which might save his life in a threatening situation. AlphaDog, I am really grateful that we thought to come to you and let you lead the way on how we gain control. We are receiving so much value in the training…And in having a more exercised dog who is less unruly around other dogs… Thank you for all you do!
I have two pitbull puppies Ares and Bentley have come here! Aloha Dog is such a great place to bring them to. They staff took the time to meet them and assess them into the right play group and made the process super easy. Everyone is so nice there. I unfortunately live a little far but know if i need a safe place for them to go my girls will be taken care of really well.
Alpha Dog's Board-n-Train and my one on one sessions with Samantha have been life changing in addressing my Great Dane's leash reactivity. She has addressed the underlying root cause to build Henry's confidence gradually. This has transformed his behavior around other dogs while on leash making our walks fun again. I highly recommend AlphaDog!
We've been taking our pups to AlphaDog since moving to Marin in October 2018 and could not be happier with their daycare and boarding services. Whether we're leaving them for a few hours, a few days, or a few weeks, we know that everyone on the AlphaDog team will treat our dogs as their own. While I could certainly keep going with my own praise for AlphaDog, the most important feedback comes from the wagging tails as we pull into the parking lot - Lincoln, Millie, and George always know where we are and can't wait to get inside to see their friends!
An absolute gem when it comes to dog boarding. We are SF residents and for the amount of space they have and the value it is worth the quick drive. Our pup Leo has been going here for 3 years now. Staff is super communicative and everyone there really loves their furry customers
The people who work here are very kind, so it pains me to write this review. First, the communication is bad. I waited months for an assessment. Before getting the assessment scheduled, I sent all of my vet records. I explained that I had a dog with a birth defect, and that my vet and I had chosen to leave him intact as a result. AlphaDog told me to have the vet send them a letter and we could get both dogs scheduled for an assessment. Fast forward two months, it's assessment day. I bring the dogs in. They have their four-hour assessment. When I pick up, Veronica, the assistant manager, tells me that they cannot take an intact dog. What a waste of everyone's time. I wasn't going to write a negative review for bad communication. However, my dogs both got kennel cough during their assessment.
My dog is everything to me and I trust this place. Our Golden goes here for both training and lodging. During one of longer boardings he ended up having bloody stool (nerves!) and I got an email from our trainer & from the Alphadog owner, as well as multiple texts from Alphadog letting me know what is happening, what action they are taking... I felt well informed and in the loop at all times (and I was out of the country). They took him to the vet and did everything necessary to put me at ease. 5 stars for that. We also did our Service Dog training here and our pup really connected with Sierra (the trainer). I gave her quite a few challenges in terms of my expectations for the pup and she did a stellar job making sure he meets/exceeds the mark. 5 stars for training as well. Once I picked up my dog almost at 11 PM because I wanted to see him asap after a trip and to my surprise someone very friendly opened the door as he was doing his rounds and gave us the dog in an orderly manner. For me this place is not cheap but I feel a sense of security when my dog is here.
My 14 year old dog has never been so beautiful! Cheryl is easy to work with and reasonably priced. I expect to never change groomers and recommend this place heartily.
We have worked with Les since our dog Luna was 8wks old. Les has guided us each step of the way. Luna is now 11 months and is turning out to be an amazing dog. He has taught her and us all the basic commands and was always a phone call or email away if we needed help with anything in between lessons. His training techniques can be applied anywhere from busy city streets to vet visits to encounters with other animals and children. Les even helped with the introduction between our 10 year old yorkie mix and Luna. I loved how caring he was toward Luna during training. Les even encouraged us to bring my 8 year old nephew to training as well, which has paid off amazingly with the twos relationship. We are so grateful for Grateful Pets! Sheryl and Les took excellent care of our dog during an extended stay over the holidays. We checked out a few places in the area and are so glad we chose Grateful Pets. It was a perfect fit for us and we will definitely be coming back for daycare and overnights in the future.
I have taken my dogs to Sheryl for many years. She is amazing as a groomer. I highly recommend her. In addition her husband Les is a dog trainer. I hired him a few years ago when I adopted a new dog and already had 2 at home. He helped teach me how to introduce a new dog into my home. They are an amazing team. Check them out.
Les and Sheryl are not only experts in providing the environment that you have dreamed of for your dear pets, but they are also experts in helping your pet feel secure, challenging your pet to enjoy the time away from you, and to get exercise that is tempered for your pet's age and ability! Our aging sweet Ravi, golden retriever, loved coming to their homestead. Sometimes, he didn't want to go home with us! He would say hi and turn back to see what action he had missed. We look forward to taking our next dog to them for their careful care.
My Aussie “Abby” and I have been working with Grateful Pets for several years. Les is a patient, attentive and dedicated trainer; his instruction has been invaluable helping me learn to manage what started out as a wildly energetic pup 5 years ago! We also count on Sheryl’s expert grooming to keep Abby trimmed up and sticker free. Abby has boarded with them many times, and is clearly loved like a member of the family. We are so grateful to have these wonderful folks nearby, and highly recommend them!

I house and Pup sit for my Aunt and Uncle frequently. Grateful Pets with their dedication and love of fur babies has made the experience a phenomenal joy. By helping the Pup to understand her manners and giving me a place to bring her when I am working there is no better. I am so thankful my Aunt found them several years ago.
I am so pleased with the care Twist receives when he is in the care of Sheryl and Les. I have a Puli and Sheryl spends hours with him at grooming. He is also taking advantage of their daily doggie care. He has a blast interacting and socializing with the other dogs. I've also have Twist board when I have to go out of town. I know he's in great care and don't worry about him.
I visited grateful pets today for them to meet my dogs and hopefully set an appointment for them to get groomed. I have two blue nose pitbulls, a male who is 6 and a female who is 8. Les and his wife came out with face masks, which I don’t blame them due to the SIP but I do believe they scared my dogs. My dogs started barking, but all they did was bark. While they were barking they were still wagging their tails, showing they were happy. Instead of petting them and trying to get to know them, Les right away turned us down. I am disappointed he did not give the dogs a chance. I know there is a stereotype for pitbulls to be aggressive but if they would have taken the time to meet my dogs and actually interact with them, they would have realized my dogs do not fit the stereotype.
