Scott and Jennifer have a very cozy updated home in a very convenient location. You can pop onto the freeway or get downtown Palo Alto in a couple of minutes. Ollie and Indie are very very sweet dogs that get along with just about everyone. Communication was good, Instructions were well written out, and as an added bonus, the stereo system to the TV was amazing!
Wonderful dog sit, Angus is the cutest dog I ever met- really friendly and easy going, happy to go on a walk every time, we went 3 times every day. We had a great time together, playing in the lovely garden and chilling out in the big house, very comfy stay, beautiful new house with all the new mod cons. Very nice and easy communication with the friendly host Tracey, she even cooked me a delicious veggie meal as welcome, highly recommend for a chilled out sit in the beautiful Yorkshire countryside. There is a bus in half an hour to the city centre, which I used twice to enjoy this magical town.
We really enjoyed our stay at Anneke's home in the forest. The house is close to town, beautiful beaches and hikes. The alpine-style chalet reminded us of our home back in Europe and, coupled with how easy the chicken and garden were to look after, the sit felt more like a wellness retreat. Anneke's warm and welcoming personality just added to that, she is truly kind and has so many interesting stories to share. She even made us delicious breakfast when she returned and introduced us to a lovely couple of travellers that were staying at her lodge. We would happily return in a heartbeat and recommend this sit to anyone who likes nature, chicken and taking naps in an outdoor hammock.
We had a great time looking after Funky. Anish had excellent communication and made sure we were set up with everything we needed. The apartment was clean and in a great location. Funky is a lovely cat to look after, we had lots of fun playing with him once he warmed up to us.
Thank you Paul and Jocelyne for going above and beyond, you are such generous, welcoming and upbeat hosts. The home is very comfortable and relaxing, and in a great neighbourhood a short walk to the center of La Peñita and the beach. We were entertained with DY’s beautiful singing and enjoyed lazing in the pool. Loved this sit! Nick and Charmaine

Carey is absolutely wonderful taking care of the dogs. Our Frankie goes once a week to daycare and has just started staying over. We know she is in such good hands and do not worry about her. She loves the beach trips and making new friends. Highly recommend! 🐶
Millie is a regular day care and overnight veteran with Carey at Paradise for Pooches and she loves it!. It’s a definite stress free service and Carey’s love for dogs is abundantly clear in the way they respond to her. We just LOVE Carey. Buster has been in paradise 2 days a week and the odd night for over a year and he is always sooooo excited to play w all the other dogs that Carey has all under control very well! I mean 2 walks a day at the beach! Amazing! Carey is such a caring woman and deeply respects the animals and is very friendly and easy w us owners!!! Hello! Peggy the Westie here! I have just returned home from another awesome little stay with Carey and friends. As soon as I got a "whiff" of my holiday destination I started to whinge and carry on in the car. Then I nearly dislocated my mum's arm in my eagerness to join my hosts. As soon as my leash was removed I took off to play and even forgot to say bye bye to mum and dad ...oops! (Although I have made amends with an extra big loop -the-loop hello upon their return.) Mum says that all my compliments about Carey's may mislead people to think that I live in a small cardboard box and do nothing. In truth, I have a wonderful life and home full of love and adventure. I say that just goes to show how good it is at Carey's.....if it can excite a spoiled kid like me it must be paradise!!
Carey is just wonderful, can't recommend her enough. Fantastic with dogs, huge and safe fenced yard - right across from the beach. My dog loves her two dogs as well.

My little fur baby Spike stayed with the team just before Christmas. Spike has a little bit of separation anxiety but was super happy in the little paws club, he also has medication and the girls where super great with this. I saw regular posts of him on FB and he looked super happy, this put my mind at ease while I was away. when I picked him up he was happy and I will definitely have him stay in the future. thanks for taking good care of my little guy.
Alfie always seems to enjoy his time at Avonlee. We always book in early to make sure we get a place for him. I really recommend Avonlee for short or long stays.

This was my 9.5 year old dogs first stay in a kennel. He came home contented and happy which was a great sign. Apparently he made a dog friend who he would play with during free time and liked the staff.
My older dog Chloe has never had need of staying in kennel boarding before due to always having family around to care for her she is 13 years old..This situation has changed now our human kids all are moving out of home..so for an older dog I was worried that she would be anxious about being in a new environment..and I was anxious..but to my surprise on picking her up after 4 days..she was so calm..happy to see me but very keen to go back to the staff and go back inside with them..to me this means she was extremely well cared for, which I was grateful for..and I have no hesitation for future visits or holidays..thanks everyone at Avonlee..
I am always very concerned when I need to leave my cat in the care of somebody that doesn't understand her personality. Even her vet, a cat lover, has described her as a challenge. This is because she was abandoned as a kitten and has lived with nobody but my wife and I ever since she adopted us, insisting we let her into our house and our lives. I said it was never going to happen, but it did because she was brave enough and stubborn to make it happen. Ever since then, whenever we have had to travel, we have left her in the care of the staff at Avonlee Lodge Pet Resort. The staff at Avonlee Lodge have always taken care of her in a way that puts the least amount of stress on both her and my wife and I while we are away. I have total faith in the staff at Avonlee Lodge to look after her and give her the care she needs without adding to any distress she may be feeling due to separation anxiety. I know she is only a cat but I made a commitment to look after her when I let her into my life and part of that commitment is ensuring she is safe at all times, whether in my care or the care of others. I take that commitment seriously and I thank the staff at Avonlee Lodge Pet Resort for taking that commitment seriously too.
Thankyou for taking good care of my Dolly and Dixie. They both were well and happy when I picked them up. I think Dixie would have stayed longer, she seemed to have had such a good time. I only leave my girls with Avonlee.

Judy is absolutely amazing, she loved our little poodle as her own and gave us daily updates and videos. Beach trips, daily walks with the other dogs and cuddles on the couch. I felt so secure knowing scout was loved so dearly while we were away. Couldn’t recommend her enough!
We are so happy to have found Judy at Happy Tails Byron Bay. We have 2 chihuahuas who can be very particular and fussy, one of them fear aggressive and the other a little on the nippy -feisty side and Judy handled them with ease and warmth. We loved getting the fun video updates when we were overseas- she clearly has a lovely way with dogs and we were very relaxed being away, knowing the dogs were so well looked after . I can't recommend Judy highly enough.

We have been using happy tails for a while now for our dog Kenny each time we go away. I used to get so much anxiety finding Kenny a reliable sitter until we found Judy. Kenny loves going to stay with Judy and runs into her place excited to play with his doggie pals. She sends regular updates and also clips his nails which we really appreciate as struggle to do ourselves. He comes home exhausted from a fun filled time and I’m sure he doesn’t miss us at all 😂
We wouldn’t just leave our guy, Reuben with just anyone but at Happy Tails, he’s treated like part of the family! He loves the interaction with the other pups and he totally loves his cuddles with Judy and Dave. We never have to worry about anything, although sometimes we wonder if he wants to come home again! Having big cousin Vinny to hang out with is a definite bonus, too. Best doggy day care ever!

Judy was an angel heaven sent at very short notice after we were told our pup wasn’t welcome at our accommodation. Our Bear was still just a puppy but in Judy’s hands he was well behaved and loved being part of Judy’s “pack”. 100% recommend to all! Thank you Judy.
Judy was so lovely to our 2 year old spoodle Oakie for day and overnight care! She fit us in with late notice when we wanted to do some dog free activities on our honeymoon in Byron. When my partner and I started planning for a week overseas, we turned to Happy Tails to care for our girl, Poppy. She’d been to Doggie Day Care at their place a few times, and we loved the attention they gave each dog, the full access they allowed them to their dog-friendly property, and of course the impressive the pack walks. During her stay, we got daily updates, pics and videos, on Poppy’s mood, activities and play with the other pups—putting our minds at ease. We’re confident she enjoyed her time with Dave and Judy, and are sure she’ll look forward to staying with them again.
I was so so happy with Judy minding my beloved greyhound, Perriwinkle. Its a gorgeous location and so peaceful, being set in rain forest only 8 minutes from Byron with dogs lying around on the deck on daybeds. Very sweet. Perriwinkle settled in beautifully and Judy kindly sent me texts with photos of my dog who had settled in beautifully the first and second days. I wouldf highly recommend Happy Tails of Byron and so prefer to the idea of an impersonal kennel somewhere as my dog was obviously loved and pampered as she was very relaxed when i collected her.
