We had great time looking after Buddy and Blue. Both are such beautiful, loyal dogs who love cuddles and walks. Blue loves playing with the ball and both are quite content to hang around in the large section or follow you wherever you go. The house itself is a lovely renovated old villa, very comfortable with everything you need for a nice relaxing time. When we got there, the house was spotless and tidy and Kelly showed us everything we needed to know. The house is set on a large section with a big Pohutukawa tree. We were amazed to see not only Tuis, but also 5 Kaka in the garden (or non-Kiwis, these are beautiful NZ native birds that you don’t get to see very often). There is a nice park just a short distance away where you can take the dogs for a walk. Kelly and Vince are a lovely friendly couple. We would be more than happy to house sit for them again in the future.
Having the opportunity to care for Fiona, a beautiful Australian Shepherd, and to share “her” home was very memorable. Adam and I met, before the actual sit. He showed me Fiona’s usual walk and “dog park” area and let me observe her fun and frolic. I learned how to feed her and heard about her “at-home” style. Fiona is a very smart and loving dog. The home is even more lovely than described and I hope, when the family travels, that they will consider inviting me back.
