We have just come back from a week at Geraldine's beautiful house in Provence looking after Bonny, the dog, Sweetie and Rosie, the senior cats, and Geraldine's beautiful flower garden and fruit trees. Bonny is a large dog but very easy going and easy to look after - she was happy with walks around the property and lots of fuss and cuddles. The cats were somewhat elusive other than at feeding time but gradually got used to us. The home is beautiful and well equipped. The swimming pool is amazing and was much used during the heatwave that we experienced during our stay. There a number of picturesque villages to visit very close by as well as lots of restaurants, bakeries and other opportunities to overindulge in amazing French food. A car is needed. Geraldine and her husband kindly hosted us the evening before they left which gave us a chance to see what was required in terms of animal and plant care. Geraldine also made recommendations to ensure that we made the most of our time in the area. I would recommend this sit to anyone looking to experience a week of life in Provence!
Had a lovely couple of days with Mabel and Arthur in Jo's beautiful house. Both cats came to me for some attention but were fairly self sufficient. The house is on the edge of a village: there is a good bus service into Truro and lovely walks from the house.
We really enjoyed our time looking after Chester and Lottie, they are such characters! Chester is a cheeky chap who is always ready to play. Lottie is a bit quieter but is very loving and likes to cuddle. Cathy provided us with a detailed welcome pack which was very useful. She was very easy to communicate with before and during the sit. When we arrived she was very welcoming and friendly. The Potato Barn is a lovely comfortable house which is very well appointed. We would highly recommend this sit and would be very happy to return.
We had an amazing experience sitting Jackie the cat for Lisa and her husband in Marina Del Rey. Their home is very peaceful and comfortable in a convenient location. We enjoyed reading on the back porch and walks down to the marina/park. Venice beach and the Santa Monica pier are close and we were easily able to access them by bus to avoid having to park. Jackie the cat is so easy to care for and easier to love! Jackie sticks close to home and enjoys accompanying his people while lounging in the beautiful gardens. Jack will ask for attention when he's in the mood and enjoys light petting on his back and sides of his head. He likes to play occasionally, but mostly likes to nap in the yard or various spots in the house. He's great at communicating his needs and easily goes into his crate at night. Lisa is a wonderful host and made us feel most welcome. She is easy to talk to and quick in her communications. She left clear instructions and gave us a video tour of the home prior to our arrival. Lisa even left goodies for us to enjoy in the refrigerator! We would gladly return to sit Jackie for Lisa. If you get the opportunity, you will not regret confirming this sit.
Helen and George are very warm and friendly hosts - we immediately got on well on our arrival and everything was well documented. Having read the unfavourable previous review and the reasonable response from Helen our expectations were set and overall we were pleasantly surprised. The house is very comfortable, the spare bed was absolutely fine (but room does need decorating as Helen and George freely admit), the shower is amazing and the kitchen well equipped. The area is quiet and we were glad we had our car to visit the attractions - but shops and supermarkets are very close by. The cats were great company - Panther is very affectionate and Daisy loves a head-rub. Panther was great at taking his medication. The chickens were easy to look after - and productive too! We enjoyed our time and were really pleased to have met George and Helen. (That earlier review is bothering me a bit .... house-sitting is a two-way service, not a right to sumptuous accommodation. Helen and George had a great weekend away and we were happy to help). Four thumbs for now but would easily be five once the spare room is sorted.
Sitting Zozo and presley was such a lovely experience. They are both very well bebaved, social and relaxed dogs. The house is beautiful, comfy and clean. Located in a very safe and quiet area not far from the city centre. I highly reccommend this! Thanks a lot for the opportunity.
