Wonderful on all accounts. George and Toffee are both gentle and easy dogs to care for. They have their own characters with an established routine. They are good company on walks or in the lovely garden when chilling with a book. They enjoy human company and will often join you on the sofa in the evening. John and Lucy have a beautiful home overlooking Mawgan Porth with lovely sea views. On your doorstep are coastal walks in either direction or a wooded valley stroll. Of course there is the beach! John and Lucy were very welcoming and provided a quick and informative had over. Communication was excellent from acceptance to end. Highly recommend and would certainly return . Thank you .
We very much enjoyed our time on this sit. The homeowners were wonderful to work with. We were provided detailed thorough information on house, pets, neighborhood, city, etc. There was no yard maintenance except a little watering. We enjoyed fresh strawberries out of the small strawberry patch in the back yard. They offered us their vehicle which we did not use because we had our own but that I think that is telling of the kind people they are. The home is located north of downtown and blocks from a lake. We enjoyed the location, we enjoyed the neighborhood and the neighbors. The cat is very lovable. The dogs were a lot of fun. The dogs need to be let out often so long day trips are out unless you take them with you. We did not, we limited our outings to between two and four hours. That afforded us plenty of time to explore and enjoy Seattle. The pets are early risers, their day starts usually between 5:00am and 5:30am with a short walk for the dogs to relieve themselves and then breakfast for all. If you want to sleep a little more they loved to nap with us. We had plenty of time to enjoy much of what Seattle has to offer, and that is a lot. We enjoyed exploring the city and its attractions. If you have bicycles bring them if you can, Seattle is very bike friendly. Luckily we had our bicycles and we are so glad we did. You can rent too.
Heidi is, hands down, one of the best and most fun dogs we've sat for in almost five years on TrustedHousesitters. She has SO much personality, she's incredibly smart, and she's a cuddle bug. We were so sad to leave her at the end of the sit! Lee and Britta are obviously experienced TH hosts and provided us with everything we needed for a smooth sit, including detailed instructions and rapid responses to our questions. They have a lovely home in a beautiful neighborhood just outside of downtown Asheville. We felt incredibly comfortable there and loved the location.
Having a Pet Sit in Kilkenny was an absolute dream and thanks to Lindsay and Ralf we were able to stay there. What an absolute joy it was to take care of Momo the kitten. What a sweet kitten she was, she took a liking to us almost right away and spent many nights sleeping on the bed with us. Or letting us know when we had slept too much and she had needs we needed to attend to! She was both independent and yet relied on us for playtime and treats. She amazed us when she came running when we called. Granted, the sound of the shaking treat bags helped. She was friendly and would sit on the sofa with us at night while watching a movie. She loved rubbing against our legs if we were the one getting her breakfast or dinner. Kilkenny is a charming small town, with lots of history to explore. It is special for us as it is the place of family ancestors who immigrated to America, so sitting there was a special gift. We enjoyed every minute! Their home is a warm and comfortable family home. The guest accommodations were large and homey. We got to spend a lot of time with the family when we arrived, as they didn’t leave until the following afternoon. All of them were the best ambassadors Ireland could have! We felt privileged to know more about them and the kids as well. Highly recommended!
Marie and Laurent made us feel most welcome when we arrived. Their beautiful home is situated in the hills overlooking the valley with easy access to the village for the basics. We had an amazing three weeks looking after Piton and Mousqueton, Barnaby went on vacation with Marie and Laurent which gave us plenty of flexibility to explore the area and take long hikes in the mountains. We have done more than 20 house sits and this goes down as one of the best. We will be visiting the area again, still so much to see. We would highly recommend this sit to anyone invited to spend a few nights looking after the house and pets.
I had a great time looking after the bunnies. Lucy left very clear instructions so there was no doubt as to how to care for them. They are also clever creatures and knew that a plastic bag could mean treat time! Or that if I opened the fridge, they might get a treat.. it was great to see their personalities. Every evening, they sat a little closer to me and by the time I left, they were sitting by my feet watching the TV with me! They were also coming to say hello after I returned from being out and do so by bumping their noses onto my foot or ankle. I think they got quite used to me and settled quickly. I loved my time with Benji and Rosie and look forward to returning :-)
