A little piece of heaven! Bodhi and Luna are so full of love, they were my guardian angels during my time in Carlsbad. I had so much fun taking them for walks during the day and relaxing on the couch at night. We had a nice routine together. I had a hard time saying goodbye to them but I know I’ll see them again! Nancy and Steve and their sons are an amazing family, so warm and welcoming. I am really grateful that our paths crossed. The house was beautiful and luxurious, they’ve created a peaceful and grounding home. The location is great, just a few miles from the beach and restaurants. If you like to walk, you’ll get a great workout walking the hills of Carlsbad too. I’m looking forward to coming back again someday. Thank you for everything!
It was a fantastic time spent with the charming and kind Solveig in a spacious, bright, and cozy house. Johanna and Eric are wonderful individuals. They were hospitable and attentive hosts, always in touch and helping us with our queries. Our enjoyment included walks through the beautiful woods, the warmth of the wood stove, and the delightful 'big cupcake' named Solveig. Unlike some dogs, she is not intrusive but so sweet that you want to cuddle her constantly. We hope to revisit this marvelous place someday!
I had a great time with Cedar and Harley. They are extremely well behaved and a pleasure to spend time with. Nicola and Stewart made me very welcome in their lovely home and provided a very informative set of notes. I so enjoyed my time there and would love to come back.
I loved this sit so much. I wish it had been longer than one night. Luxo is the sweetest, cuddliest boy. He greeted me upon arrival then took off to another room for a couple hours, then reappeared to sit near me. He later sat on my lap, and then that was the situation most of the rest of the sit. When he wasn't eating or playing, of course. He's a lot of fun to play with and Alecsandra has equipped him with a wide array of fun toys. He's a smart cat and a great companion. Alecsandra was excellent with communication and very kind and thoughtful. I am fortunate enough to live nearby, so was able to meet her and Kevin and Luxo before the sit. Their home is in a great location near so many attractions and amenities, yet away from traffic and noise. Even on Halloween night, I had a quiet evening in the neighborhood. And the house was spotless and cozy, with a fascinating collection of books and art to read and admire. I would absolutely do this sit again in a heartbeat and you should, too! Luxo will steal your heart and be your best friend in no time at all. I'm happy to give them all five stars and would give 10 if I could. :)
Amanda’s home is extremely comfortable and well situated. Duke, or as we call him the Dukester, is a super funny intelligent and snuggly dog. He IS a counter cruiser, and will snack on things left anywhere in his vicinity so you must be super careful there. We enjoyed taking care of him and staying at the house, and Amanda and family were super communicative and kind.
Kaia is such a sweetheart and a thoughtful host who was a delight to get to know and befriend. Her house is warm and cozy, and she had everything beautifully organized and well stocked to ensure my comfort. Mochi and Tuey are two memorable characters! We had a rocky start, and as Kaia warned, Mochi can be challenging. He wants to be the mayor and doesn’t necessarily take at first to any new sheriff in town! Once you settle into a routine, though, things smooth out, and the dogs are affectionate at heart. They enjoyed two walks a day around the pleasant tree-lined streets of Maywood Park. Folks are friendly, although Mochi, being a Jack Russell, doesn’t do well with other dogs and can get territorial and aggressive. Since Tuey and Mochi both crave regular and steady attention, it can be tricky to have focused concentration if you need to work from home. The dogs like to snuggle and find your lap as much as possible, and Mochi wants to be the center of attention. They both find times during the day to rest. Sweet Tuey is a remarkable and energetic gal, but at 16, she understandably needs to get up occasionally to go out in the middle of the night. She will pace and offer a few barks to alert you. She liked to be near me pretty much at all times during the day. Mochi will spend time independently, but he also loves to play. I was mostly successful in keeping the dogs on their beds at night, but it took a few weeks to get into a nighttime routine, and they usually shifted around a couple of times a night. It’s great that you can go for quick visits to the backyard if needed (there’s a fenced in and easily accessible yard from the sunroom at the back of the house). Things worked best when I could stick with a routine, which Kaia also mentioned as being effective. It takes a little while to sort out a schedule, and if you go out for a lengthier period you may return to the occasional accident, which was usually pee on one of their beds, which are easy to wash, or on the floor, which is easy to clean up. This is a nice sit for anyone who is happy to spend time with the dogs and has a good sense of humor about devoting a lot of attention to them. Things work well when the dogs feel secure and loved, and they enjoy a human presence. And Kaia is a very grateful, gracious, and generous host.
