Luke was absolutely fantastic as a house and pet sitter! He truly was the best sitter I've ever had. My house was spotless and my fur babies were extremely well taken care of, it was like I was never gone!! He went above and beyond normal house and pet care, communication was perfect and I never had even an moment of concern or worry while he was staying at my home. Pkease be sure to scoop him up if you get the opportunity as a house and pet sitter, you'll be so impressed and happy!! I cannot recommend him enough to take excellent care of your home, plants and fur babies!! Thank you so much Luke!!
CeCe was a dream to sit for - an independent kitty who also loves a cuddle! Katherine provided excellent care instructions, has a gorgeous home in a great location and was super easy to communicate with ☺️
What a pleasure and privilege it was to meet Maria and Phillip and their two dogs. I felt warmly welcomed and so at ease. Instructions and communication were clear and provided ample detail. The dogs are extremely well-mannered and affectionate - an absolute delight! Dog-walking in this historic village is interesting and most enjoyable. Hiking trails, walking paths and outdoor activities are at the doorstep - an outdoor enthusiast’s dream! The area surrounding Clapham is also beautiful and offers so much to explore. I highly recommend this housesit and am so grateful to have had this opportunity - I would return without hesitation again and again. (Thank you so much, Maria and Phillip!)
I hope James decides to take care of Daisy’s severe flea problem before he allows anyone else to sit. When the home guide was shared the night before the sit, there was mention of a comb in the drawer due to her getting “the occasional flea”. (What? Already a red flag, but I already accepted and confirmed the sit—what are my options now? I had to reluctantly deliver)“Occasional” was truly an understatement, as I ended up combing out at least 20 LIVE FLEAS from her fur the day after, most of which were still alive and jumping!!! On top of this, I was constantly worrying about cross contamination to myself and my belongings throughout the sit. I did not want to track eggs into my car...on myself...and to my own cat at home. Any stray egg that sticks to my shoes could mean an infestation for me, then weeks of constant and consistent cleaning to hopefully rid of the problem. The bedsheets even had a fully grown dead (laundered) flea in it!!! It is a miracle I made it out there without going absolutely crazy—not that I wasn’t halfway there already from the situation. Before getting into my car, I bagged my shoes and put on another pair of “clean” shoes that would stay in the car only. When I got home, I immediately bagged all my shoes/clothes and showered. A few days later, I noticed 3-4 bite marks scabbed up on my arm in a straight line , a known indication of flea bites. I made sure my cat got her flea medication. Thankfully, I did not end up having an infestation with all these precautions. Allowing someone into your home like this to care for your six pets is hugely deceitful, irresponsible, and just plain gross. Previous mentions of the house being a bit dirty are true if not more so. I did not even shower there because it just felt too dirty.. moldy, humid, and cold, and I was already too stressed out to figure out the logistics of not cross contaminating in this process. There were at least 3 loose crickets 🦗 that escaped the children’s room and many large black flies that just buzzed around the kitchen/living room. In addition, Daisy had been subjected to wearing a flea collar 24/7 and her eyes had been turning red from the toxins. As I had agreed to do the sit, I performed all duties of feeding all animals and walking Daisy several times a day as needed. She is most likely untrained, because with every single walk she would be highly uncooperative (let her body limp and even sit when I started to head back to the direction of the house. I hope no one else is subjected to the same conditions as I had, as a flea infestation is not to be taken lightly!! It is about time that I finally share my review especially seeing that the listing is up again.
We had a great time looking after Peanut, he is such a character and we grew to adore him very quickly ! Maddy was really organised and welcoming to us, and even left us a bottle of fizz and chocolates ! Maddy & Will have a colourful, bright airy and comfortable home and garden, with a bus stop on the door step. Peanut is a gorgeous and hilarious kitty, super playful and loves being around human company. He is a night owl and hides in his little hiding place most of the day. It's a joy when he comes out to spend time with you in the afternoon and evenings, and we were glad to spend an extra couple of days with him. Contact with Maddy was great all throughout the sit. Hope to see you again in future !
A highly recommended sit with a very cute and entertaining cat! Maidstone is within easy (an hour on the train) reach of London and provides a great platform for exploring the SE of England. The house is situated an easy 20 minute walk into Maidstone town centre and that contains all you need for your usual shopping and dining experiences There are large M and S (clothes and Foodhall) and Next stores about 10 minutes walk passing through the lovely Penendean Heath The house itself is a lovely bungalow with a beautiful and well cared for back garden area accessed from a sunny conservatory - grass, flowers and fruit and veges. Our early Sep sit allowed us to pick fresh strawberries and raspberries each day as well as harvesting as many tomatoes as we could eat. Gillian and John left the house in superb condition for us. Everything that we required was there. We slept in the spare front bedroom, in a very comfortable double bed together with adequate storage and hanging space for our clothes However the best part was Tiggy. She is a very cute and friendly kitten/cat who kept us highly amused throughout our stay. She loved company but was also independent enough to roam the neighbourhood a lot of the time. In summary, this is a highly recommend sit should future opportunities arise
Cosmo & Jerry .. The most adorable cats.. ever.. and I stayed ONLY tow nights! Great communication with Daniel and Sofia. You two, I know you are expecting a "different" type of kitten but if you need a sitter let me know
