We had a lot of fun with Haku and DJ. Haku is very playful, he will definitely try to get all your attention, and, of course he will succeed. Poor DJ just deals with it, he is also very sweet, but keeps a little distance. They have a very easy schedule to follow, and going out in the backyard makes things easy. Haku however loved it when we walked him, he can keep up a good pace and he will be very happy if you walked him.

Patti's place is in a great location, very close to the town center and of course there are a lot of things to do in the Hamptons area. Patti offered for us to use her bikes, we didn't take up on the offer but it was much appreciated. Her place is also great I thought, very whimsical and artsy, it felt like we were in a time capsule.

Clem & Simon are a lovely couple. They made me feel so welcome in their beautiful home, and invited me to join them for a family meal the day before their flights.

This was a delightful sit, and it seemed to fly-by too fast!!

Dasha & Binky are the sweetest pair of dachshunds, and it was an absolute delight to spend time with them. Such different personalities, both very affectionate, inquisitive and love their walks around the gardens and woodlands (although Binky requires a little extra encouragement to make the initial step outside, and doesn’t wander far from home). Dash lives up to her name and would probably run for miles if given the chance. Thankfully Clem clarified that she walks only on-lead!, at all times. And there’s plenty of lovely pathways, bridges, and things for her to sniff and explore throughout the garden, woodlands and along the river. As expected, Binky would often join us for part of our explorations, returning home once she’d had enough! Certainly she prefers being snuggled up in one of her beds and cosy under blankets, a wise pup.

The ducks are great fun to greet every morning and ready them for their bedtime. Dash was often keen to assist me in calling them home for the night, though I feel the ducks operate on their own timescale. After seeing how they responded to Clem’s calls, I figured it would be a piece of cake calling them back to the hutch! They flew in from quite a distance when Clem called for them, yet they diligently ignored my calls when happily within sight in the fields next door. Which, I found to be hilarious! Of course, they always flew home before it got dark. And Dash enjoyed the anticipation with me, often lengthening our afternoon walks as we kept a look-out for the ducks’ impending landings.

All of Clem’s instructions and walk-through of the estate were excellent in terms making sure everything ran smoothly for me and the animals! Communications were easy and straightforward, and all information & useful instructions were also in the booklet provided. This made it much easier to get into the routines with the dogs, ducks and day-to-day care of animals and home.

Clem was also available for any questions, which was especially valuable once I realised there was perhaps an issue with the plumbing. Fortunately, Clem and Simon were instantly in touch with their plumber and all worked out well.

Thank you Clem and Simon for making me feel so welcome in your beautiful home. It was an absolute pleasure taking care of Binky and Dasha, and the ducks, of course!

Emily and John left detailed instructions about how to take care of their wonderful pups, Judge and Paloma. Their beautiful home was clean upon my arrival. Thank you Emily and John for the opportunity to stay in and explore amazing SLC!

Bizzy is the sweetest dog on the planet. She just wants love and to hang out.

Nomar & Sprinkles are a hoot!

We enjoyed our stay and spent the mornings and evenings in the shaded patio with Bizzy. Jess & Sam are communicative, easy going and a pleasure to sit for!

I really enjoyed my time watching Robin! They have a beautiful, clean and comfortable home, which was perfect for me as I work remotely. They were nice enough to let me use anything in their kitchen as well. Robin is an outdoor cat so she did her own thing most of the time. Sometimes she’d be out late but always came back for dinner. She doesn’t like to be held but would come and sit by me sometimes if I was sitting in the living room. She has a lot of sass (In the best way possible) and is definitely the boss of the house. I would absolutely sit for her again!

This was our first house sit through this website and we had a lovely time at Emma's beautiful cottage with her 2 dogs, Bess and Bertie, and 2 cats, Nell and Murphy. We met a week before due to only living a short drive away so had a chance to get to know them before we stayed. Bertie was shy when we first met but remembered us as soon as we arrived for the sit and all shyness vanished. Bess will love your attention from when she first meets you. Both dogs are super friendly and lovely with all 4 of us. Walks are on the doorstep and both dogs led the way and well behaved - they loved their ball launchers too.
Nell and Murphy spent most of their time upstairs or in the lower part of the garden. Nell snuggled up with us and Murphy preferred sleeping in a different bedroom, both keen for smooths.
The cottage is beautiful, modern and comfortable in a peaceful location walkable to the nearest village.
Thanks so much for a lovely weekend Emma and we'd love to sit for you again if you need us.
