Lauren and her husband Mickey were AMAZING house sitters. They took exceptional care of our house, but especially our 2 year old Sheepadoodle Haven. In fact, they spoiled Haven by taking her out every evening to the beach, a restaurant, or some other great place to walk around the beautiful Monterey Peninsula. Haven was so well cared for that she bonded with Lauren and Mickey, and they likewise fell in love with her. Once they left, Haven was moping for over a day, wouldn't eat, and kept waiting for them to come back to our house. Our neighbors also commented how happy Haven looked, so we know she was loved. Upon our return, our house was immaculately cleaned. We had no issues at all, and their communication in terms of sending pictures and updates of Haven. They had no issues during their stay, and we traveled with a peace of mind knowing we had chosen the right couple to watch our home and our fur baby. We recommend Lauren and Mickey as highly as is possible, and would have them stay at our place again in a heartbeat.
We had the pleasure of meeting and spending an afternoon with Judy about two weeks before the sit. She connected quickly with the pets and made us feel at ease right away. Judy did a wonderful job during our recent sit! We came home to very content and chilled pets and a well cared for home. She sent several updates and photos and asked for clarification as needed. We cannot be effusive enough about Douglas and Alannah! They took care of our house and pets while we were away for 5 nights for our wedding. We were able to focus on our planning and celebration without having to worry for a moment about our babies. D&A are clearly very comfortable and confident when it comes to caring for animals- and our animals loved them at first sight! On top of that, we came home to a house that is MUCH cleaner and tidier than we left it, plus a gift of coffee beans that Douglas roasted himself! We could not be more grateful that Douglas and Alannah were the ones here in our absence. What an absolute blessing!
We joined THS in order to hopefully get our dog fix following the death of our own dog earlier this year, whilst also getting the opportunity to visit wonderful homes in great locations, and meet new friends. If ever there was a sit to do just that (and beyond) it's the last ten days that we've just spent in the wonderful company of Thatchy, Winnie and Frank. From the outset, Carole (our host) was so welcoming and accommodating, and her home and its grounds are beyond divine. Add to that the beautiful location of Carole's estate in one of the most picturesque valleys we've ever seen; reminding us of locations we've visited in New Zealand, South Africa and California. And, then there are the hounds ... a more loving, loyal and fun trio you will never meet. Thatchy melted my wife's heart with her good-natured maternal gentleness, Winnie made us smile constantly from ear to ear with her positive spirit and loving licks, and Frank, well, Frank is just the most characterful little sausage you will ever have the good fortune to share a little piece of your life with. At the end of our stay, we drove away with such heavy, heavy hearts. We already miss our temporary family very much indeed.
