This is the perfect house sit ! Lesley & Colin are kind gracious hosts and Poppy the dog is just a delight. She loves people and her walks but isn’t needy, she’s obedient, calm and cuddly and you can take her anywhere. The house is beautiful, has everything you need and is in a great spot in Winchester. Five mins from the water meadows and great walks, yet close enough to the action in the city centre. Would 100% recommend this sit.
We had the great opportunity to take care of Caroline's cosy home and her adorable cat Charley for 4 weeks. Caroline gave us a very warm welcome with a delicious Gascon dinner. The house has been tastefully modernized and is very comfortable. It's a stunning place, right on the pilgrimage route to Santiago di Compostela. When the weather is nice, you can see the Pyrenees! There are great cycling routes and incredible places that are really worth visiting. Perfect place in the heart of Gascony. Traditional Markets, restaurants, shops, bakery, pharmacy 15-20 min by car. It was really great to have the heated pool, thanks so much again! Communication before and during the house sit was excellent. Caroline gave us lots of practical and interesting tips about the area, food, people, places to visit and anything else we needed. Charley is a cuddly and very affectionate cat, uncomplicated. She immediately captured our hearts. We would love to come back and highly recommend this house sit!
I had the honor of sitting for a lovely couple with the most adorable dog ever! Tia is a very well behaved, charming and playful English Lab. What a great companion for walks and relaxing. Pam is a delightful hostess who left perfect instructions and communicated very well during my stay. Her home is very cozy, well appointed with everything a sitter would need and a very comfy guest room. I felt safe at all times and although you are in a rural area situated on a lake you still have access to several small towns with restaurants. To top it off we are both diehard Texas Longhorns! Had a great sit and would do so again if the need arises. 💖🐾
Buddy is soooo adorable and such a sweetheart! He just loves being around people and will be your cute little shadow while you’re there. He’s great on walks and has lots of energy! I honestly wish I could’ve stayed longer with him, he’s THAT sweet. Zoe is wonderful to communicate with and super friendly. Her home is cozy and located a few minutes walk away from the stunning Staunton Country Park! It was a lovely sit and such a pleasure :)
Kylie and Dean are very friendly and accommodating people, and I promise you will fall in love with Rosie! She’s a great companion to have during your Gold Coast stay, and Kylie and Dean will make sure you feel right at home. Wonderful stay!
Roger and Monica were super hosts, welcoming me warmly into their beautiful home. Their house is in a rural location, but easily accessible by public transport, and the picturesque town of Shrewsbury is only 4 miles away. Dido (springer spaniel) and Tess (flat-coated retriever) are delightful, and very easy to look after. They know their routine, and enjoyed their walks straight from the house, along a farm track and through the surrounding fields (top tip - take your wellies, it can get muddy on the lane that the dogs like to walk on!). The house has a large beautiful garden, which is secure, and the dogs enjoyed spending a lot of time in it. I really enjoyed my few days in Shropshire with Dido and Tess, and I'm sure all other sitters will too.

Abbie at Free Range Doggy Day Care has recently been grooming my dog. After several grooming experiences with other groomers I highly recommend Abbie as a #1 dog groomer. He is clean, smooth, very well brushed out with great looking nails and happy. He has never looked and smelled so good. And best of all he likes being with her. What a great place to leave your dog for the day or during a vacation. Remy always comes home exhausted and mellow. I even take advantage of their onsite groomer, Abbie. Remy does not like baths but Abbie always gets the job done. His fur is always so clean and smooth. The staff will not disappoint you or your dog.
The groomer Abbie K at Free Range is by far the best groomer for my tempermenatal cocker spaniel who does not liked to be groomed at all. He is about 3 years old and has been to about 5 different groomers. None of them made my dog look so good. Most groomers would actually shave him all over and indicate what a handful he is or give up and ask that he be picked up because they could not handle him. I have had to medicate him in the past that is how much he dislikes the process. Abbie has the patience of a saint and was up to the challenge and no longer is medicated for the process. Henri now has a beautiful coat fully brushed out and looks like his breed. Abbie really is a miracle worker. We bring him every month now for a bath or to be fully groomed. I know how difficult the process is as I tried to groom him myself with all the professional tools and let's just say he looked choppy and uneven. This is why I believe it's so important to tip all dog groomers. Thank you Abbie for your hardwork. I appreciate your perseverance and can do attitude. Henri loves going to daycare here too, I love Saturdays less dogs as during the week.
Found this place by chance when our normal place was booked. Our Great Dane would walk into the old place a little hesitant, now as soon as the car door is opened he is as happy as can be ... Staff is super friendly and throughly enjoy what they do. Update 9/30/22: Wow! they are getting serious upgrades inside and out. Pete the manager was awesome once again. Even with everything going on around him (contractors, people coming and going) he was professional and took the time with us -it's a great feeling when you leave your pet with Pete and his staff; you can walk away with confidence that your pet will be well taken care of and loved.
Free Range is the top dog daycare in the area. Not only is it clean, but the staff is professional and my 2 large breed dogs come home exhausted after a day there which is great for me. The staff is always responsive and they offer a wide range of services including grooming. You will also receive frequent “report cards” that track your dog’s behavior, habits etc… I always trust that my dogs will be well taken care of when I drop them off at Free Range, and their hours of operation are very convenient for the average work schedule as well.
I recently booked an appointment with Abbie for the first time for my dog, Opie, and I couldn't be happier with the experience! She was friendly and professional, and she did an amazing job grooming my dog. She left him looking fresh and tidy and kept in contact with me from start to finish. Her attention to detail was impressive, from nail trimming to ear cleaning. My dog came out looking and feeling fantastic! I'll definitely have Abbie treat him again soon!
My experience with the staff and services at Free Range Doggie Daycare and overnight camp have been fantastic. They are super organized and efficient. The system used for uploading vaccinations and information is easy to use. If you have to contact them, they get back to you right away and are happy to let you know how your pet is doing and behaving. The drop off and pickup has been flawless and our dog looks great and happy being with the other dogs. This was her first time going to daycare and kenneling overnight, I would definitely bring her back again.
Absolutely love this daycare. I take my dog multiple times a week and she is always looked after. The staff are incredible and you can tell how much they care about the dogs. I’ve had safety concerns with my dog at other daycare, but not here. They have incredible safety measures and I never worry about my dog while she is there. I cannot emphasize enough how much I trust and love this daycare. Plus, they post the cutest pictures on facebook!
Ulti-Mutt Academy is a great dog day care with a safe and clean facility. Both of my dogs love it there, and always come home tired from a day full of fun. The owners/employees love their customers dogs as much as the dog parents do. Having a safe and trusted place to bring our dogs is a great relief. I can't recommend Ulti-mutt academy enough.
We have taken our Aussie to 2 other dog day cares before ulti-mutt and when we brought her to those other places she scratched and clawed not to be left. I hated dropping her. But at ulti-mutt it’s the exact opposite she is actually excited for me to leave her!! It’s insane. We couldn’t be happier with our experience. This has to be the best day care in CT. The staff is so friendly. They even did a doggie birthday party last week and our dog came home with a goodie bag!! I can’t say enough good things! A+

We hired Amanda two years ago to take care of our senior kitty who requires daily medications to control her seizures. We have found Amanda to be completely reliable, responsive, and totally caring for our pet and her well-being. We are away most weekends in the summer, and have never had a worry about our pet as long as Amanda was taking care of her. Meeting her and hiring her to take care of our pet was one of the best decisions we have ever made. We cannot say enough good things about Amanda and highly recommend her.

Amanda was recommended to us several years ago, after we moved and were in need of a new pet sitter. I take my anxious senior cockapoo here for grooming and Hallie does a wonderful job. My pup always looks fantastic and always comes out calm and relaxed. She does a great job and is clearly very gentle and kind to my little old guy and we are very grateful for her and Silver Trails.
I Took my yorkie here and what she did was take a pair of clippers and just buzzed off. All his whiskers now I have the most misbehaved dog I have ever had. He was fully trained, never barked. Did his business weary where he was supposed to? Now? He doesn't walk in circle. She ruined his life!!!!
Our dogs go here for boarding when needed, and for haircuts. Never an issue, and people are super nice. The one star review for hair cut must have been a communication problem, because we've probably gotten our dog's hair cut 10 times here and it's great every time. Also, we just boarded our dog here for 4 days and no issues as usual
Relatively decent, no real itemized receipt provided, and if you take things there for your pet(s), do not expect them to track those items well enough to return the items upon pickup. Pups are still alive, so that counts as something. Perhaps a check in form detailing items recieved. Also kennels we have used in the past had an intake form allowing selection of activities or requested services that facility can provide grooming etc during drop off, that would be really helpful.

We've boarded our dogs with Silver Trails multiple times. It's always a great experience. They are kind, safe, clean, helpful, and super responsive. I do wish like some other places they either had a cam or send you periodic pics of your dogs, especially for longer stays. But, otherwise, they are awesome. Highly recommend.
Silver Trails has boarded our puppies for a couple of years now. They are always treated well and handled safely. The facilities are clean and well maintained. The staff are amazing and so sweet to our babies! Our puppies come home happy, clean, and well fed. This is a great place to board your animals!
We have been boarding our Great Dane here since she was about 7 months old. She is almost 3 now. She enjoys the staff and atmosphere. We always book her in a suite and she is always healthy and happy when we pick her up. The staff, especially Candi, are her home away from home playmates. I trust Silver Trails to keep my big baby happy and healthy while we are away for extended weekends. Thank you Silver Trails! We would miss so many life events if we did not have Silver Trails as our babysitters.
Our dog, Tinker Belle loved her stay there! She came back in wonderful condition and we took her with us yesterday to make reservations in August...she ran over to the tech and kissed her! We love this kennel....it's just like a camp for pets!

My cat Olive stayed at Gagnon’s Pet Resort while we were away on vacation. I never used a pet boarding service so I was a little nervous and I wanted to find a trustworthy place. Every single employee that helped us was so kind, sweet, and compassionate towards animals. They’re very meticulous with their intake so they know how to best take care of your pets. There was a texting service that I was able to check in and see how Olive was doing. I’m so happy with the service there and will be absolutely booking with them in the future. Olive and I thank you so much for being so caring and loving!
I have been bringing my dogs to Gagnon's Pet Resort for grooming with Abby for over 7 years now and I have such a positive experience every time. The grooming quality is amazing, the dogs clearly are treated well since they wag their tails when they see their groomer. The front desk staff and assistants are professional, efficient and polite. Gagnon's Pet Resort also makes me aware if there are any issues and my pets are actually inspected while groomed - more than once Abby notices health concerns that help me with the care of my pets. I highly recommend Gagnon's Pet Resourt!
We recently boarded our 6 month old puppy at Gagnon's and I have nothing but good things to say. I would highly recommend it for dog boarding. They are so popular that they do not have availability for daycare at this time but hopefully they will have openings again soon. That staff was super friendly and accommodating. Gagnons has been taking care of our indoor cat, for day boarding while we have major construction happening. They have been more than wonderful with her and have obvious adoration for EVERY pet who walk through their door. The staff are always eager to please. We are grateful they are there during our time of need, and will definitely be boarding her there should we travel.

Sadhana is an amazing resource for dealing with anxious or reactive dogs. She has great instincts and is very knowledgeable. She helped my pet immensely. MuttyPaws Academy is an excellent daycare and boarding place for dogs. The staff is very helpful and friendly. It is the best facilities for dogs we have ever used. I would very highly recommend sending all dogs to MuttyPaws. Our miniature Australian Shepard loves going there for daycare and boarding!
I rarely board my dogs but whenever I have to I’ve always gone to John Gagnon’s. This was my first experience since change of ownership. My dog is well socialized and stable minded. When I picked her up she smelled of urine and the bottom of her belly was sticky with urine residue. It was apparent to me that she was lying in her own filth. She is not one to soil herself or sit in her own filth unless given no choice. The front desk staff was apologetic but the manager never called me back after I left a message and it’s been 2 weeks later. The neglect management is showing me as a client clearly matches the neglect my dog had experienced.
.We regularly bring our dogs to be groomed at John Gagnon pet resort. They are very busy so you have to book your grooming appointments way ahead of time So my appointment was today, I take the day off work so I can bring them in and pick them up. They gave us a 2 hour window 7-9. I got there at 8:56. Sat there until the girl came and told me the gave our appointment to another customer!!!?!?!!?! That’s terrible business ethics, I have a business myself and couldn’t do this to a good customer. I walked out but wish I stayed and demanded my appointment I was within the time slot. The other groomer in town has no availability! I would go somewhere else in a heartbeat if I could find another groomer!
Gagnon's Pet Resort has been such a gem since I've rescued Rooney. They've worked with him so much to become a better socialized pup and I truly see his growth and give them so much credit for it. They are so professional and knowledgeable. Loving and attentive. Every tail I see coming and going through their door is wagging and all doggies have big smiling faces. It means the world knowing my boy is taken care of so well when I'm at work or away. It's not the closest for me, but Gagnon's will always be our first choice resort. We love you guys 🖤🤍🐾

We were very happy with Candlewick Kennels in Glastonbury, CT. We boarded our furkid dog for 3 days. It was a great process from scheduling to check out. We signed him up for their doggy daycare while he was there so that he wouldn’t be alone all day. He had a free assessment before he arrived to be sure he would be a good candidate for mingling with a group of dogs. He passed and he loved it. We watched him on live CAMS. We knew he was happy. They gave him his meds! Staff is wonderful. He always gets groomed there.
Can’t recommend Candlewick Kennels enough! After a really bad experience at another local daycare/boarding facility, I was hesitant to bring my dog anywhere else — until I found Candlewick Kennels. I know my dog is in great hands here! He absolutely LOVES going to boarding / daycare. The staff is always so pleasant & I can tell they really care about all the dogs. They communicate any concerns immediately & are super responsive. Truly cannot recommend this place enough for any / all of your pet needs :)
This place is awesome. Great, friendly, efficient service at good prices. I had my Bernedoodle puppy’s first grooming done here yesterday and he looks like a brand new pup, in a great way!! Jessica did a fantastic job and we’ll be returning every month for a bath and brush at least until he’s a year old. And will continue to use for grooming.
I have been boarding my dog at Candlewick for the past 2 years. Also am frequently using daycare to keep him socialized. The staff is great and prices are similar to others. I love the web cam so I can check in whenever I want. I highly recommend.
Candlewick is the only place my wife and I are comfortable bringing our dog Iroh. The staff are always friendly, and remember him. Anytime he’s boarded their communication has been top notch. He once had an upset stomach while staying with them, and they called me and made a plan to add rice to his meals and keep us updated. We feel like he is safe and cared for, every single time. Doggie daycare is great, and they have live cameras so you can see how the dogs interact. There is always plenty of staff members. Their groomers are amazing and have an immense amount of patience. My dog is very energetic, and they do amazing work on him and he never comes home stressed. The groomer always checks what we want done first, and he comes home smelling amazing. This facility is 25 minutes from my house and we will never use anyone closer, peace of mind is huge.
I don’t want to bring my dog to any other kennel. Some kennels you can sense when your pet does not want to be there if they stand at the door not wanting to go in. At Candlewick my dog has no problem with going with the staff. They really seem to care about peoples pets and not just treat them as an animal. I got texts from the staff when there was anything out of the ordinary happening with my dog. I love getting the snuggle sessions for my dog and getting the selfies texted to me. I would definitely recommend! You feel at ease sending your pet here and aren’t worried they are scared or miserable when you are away.
My dog Teddy previously went to multiple Petco locations over the years for grooming but the stylists always said that he gets nippy with them so recommend going to a private groomer. I have brought Teddy to Candlewick for recurring 7-8x week grooming appointments for the past 4 years and their report card always gives him high praises. This just shows that environment and space really do make a big difference when it comes to our fur babies wellbeing and comfort. I have not done the boarding service yet but will definitely not hesitate if needed to. Their app allows viewing of the playtime areas so you can virtually check to see how the pups are doing as well which is a huge win I think for dog parents. Teddy is an elder dog now so he likes being alone which Candlewick also accommodates for dogs who need to board solo. Overall great services, and super friendly staff! Thanks from me and Teddy!

I Needed to board my 5 month old kitten Riley as I was going way for a few days. My good friend recommended Candlewick Kennels. The website made it easy to book her stay. Any extra information they needed they reached out via email/ phone call. Julia who had checked my pet in was very curtious, friendly & knowledgable on all questions i had asked. When I was away I was able to text them everday to check in on my pet., and received a text back within minutes. They also sent me a picture of my kitten. I was amazed at the huge facility & interior of this establishment. This is a very well run business. With exceptional customer service from the staff. I highly recommend this establishment! I will in the future being using this facility.
Leaving a 1-star for now, but I was a customer for 5 years, and in that time their prices for overnight cage free boarding was $55. Just picked up my dog today from boarding to find out that the cost went up by $45 a night and they charged me $100/night for boarding which is absurd. The fact that they can’t tell you what price it’s going to cost on their website Insane and to have a policy like the one that they do. I will not be returning back to them Unless that policy changes and they have their pricing listed on their website.
My dog loved the place. She had so much fun playing with more dogs she met! I would really recromend this place, About an hour in and she is already tuckered out because of all the fun she had. The outside feild is also really nice. It's a nice place for many dogs. In fact, on the car ride she was super happy to go to the place. So, 5 stars out of me
Not only do my husband and I love Wagging Tails, but more importantly our dog, Tucker, does too! We are always welcomed with a smile and the staff knows Tucker well. The daycare offers many fun activities for the dogs and gives daily report cards, giving parents fun memorabilia and the dogs different ways to engage and play with each other. Tucker always comes home exhausted from a day of playing, and his ears perk up when I ask him if he wants to go play at daycare. Wagging tails is the best!
I brought a dog to/from daycare occasionally, so my experience is limited, but by all accounts seems like a great facility with great staff. They know the dogs by name of course, and you can tell that they've all developed a unique connection with each animal. They offer half and whole days and have very workable hours for all clients. I recommend!!
I find their online system confusing and difficult to book dock diving sessions. Last time we went they messed up our reservation time and asked me to change my time and I did and they said they would give it to us for free but then charged us for it. Today I tried to book my dog and they asked me to bring in a rabies vaccine, and I found that it expired literally yesterday and she canceled our appt. I come here when I can’t get out to K9 Dock diving in colchester, it is not my first choice😒
My dog seen in the picture below stayed at the west hartford location from 8-12-21 to 8-14-21. He is an 8 month old Rottweiler who has never stayed at any kind of boarding facility. When my pup came home from his visit Saturday evening he was not himself. I called and emailed less then 24hours from the time that he was picked up to inform staff that he most likely has kennel cough. No office manager ever called me back. When I called back not to long ago, I informed staff of what the vet said all I got was what do you want me to do. I will never visit this place again. I will upload pictures of all the dogs he was in close contact with. I am also going to report their unsafe practices to BBB. The facility seemed to be understaffed compared to the ratio of human/dog contact. Never again!!!
Clean facility and helpful friendly staff! I brought my dog here for a private swim in their indoor pool and couldn’t have been happier, nor could he.
My concern with this daycare is that you can't call directly to West Hartford. I tried calling at 7am, about a concern I had with my dog and I didn't receive a call back until 2 1/2 hours later. When I did get a call back I was told phone lines were down and there is no other way to get in touch with the facility absolutely no direct line. I then called after I got my dog with hopes I could speak with a manager, I left a message and no one called me. I feel if I leave my pet at a facility I should be able to get in touch with someone quickly and directly. If you are open 7 to 7 you should have someone available to answer calls from 7 to 7. Also, the person that did call me back had 0 answers to my questions I had. Ex. How high are your fences? They had no idea. Is there an emergency back up number when your phone lines are down.....not that they know of. How many dogs are there today? How many staff are on? No idea. And as of 9pm tonight no report card or pics of how the day went. I knew when he was apprehensive about going in i should have taken him immediately but i honestly thought it was because he hadnt been in a while. Just all around a disappointing experience. 😞
Love that my dog can sleep over with someone in the room at all times to supervise. Love how friendly the staff receives my dog by calling out “Hi Bud” when his name is Tevye. I never have a problem or have to wait to book an appointment. The prices are affordable. Thank you for wagging my tail, too.
I have a 15 month old Spinone Italiano that I recently adopted and she’s still a little unsure of herself and her new surroundings. I took her here to try dock diving, trying to find something she’d like to do for fun. She loved it, and the folks here were welcoming and encouraging and patient. It was great fun! For both of us. We will definitely be going back.
Our boy plays hard all day and sleeps all night. A tired pup is a good pup. I can tell he’s playing hard from the sheer amount of dirt on him when we pick him up! Lol we love it, and the socialization aspect he gets as well. When we drop him off he doesn’t even look back once
Its a Dogs life is the best! My pup Lexi has been going for about 6 months. I got her as a rescue and she was a shaky, nervous bundle of nerves. Scared of everything. Danielle and Mike are amazing. They were extremely patient and caring with her and helped her to socialize with the other dogs which has helped build her confidence. Lexi can't wait to get out of the truck every morning and comes home nice and tired from playing with her friends. I wouldn't send my fur baby anywhere else.
My dog has been coming here for over a year a couple days per week and loves it! It’s very relaxed (you rarely hear dogs barking when you pull up, they are playing or relaxing inside or outside), the facility is super clean and you can tell the dogs love Mike and Danielle- who are the best!
Doggie Daycare has been a saving grace. Poor Kobe was quite the wild child before starting! Now he’s matured and can’t wait to leave in the morning. He sits by the door waiting to head to school. The hours are great and it's nice to know our dog is well taken care of during the day.
A tired dog is a good dog. My two play all day and sleep well all evening. They get the dog socialization they need and exercise.
The grandpuppy started attending a few weeks ago & loves it. Well run, super clean, great fellow clients. Tired and happy pup at day's end.

I love this Dog DayCare! It's so nice having piece of mind when I drop my dog off that my dog is comfortable and I am comfortable leaving him there. Danielle is so attentive to all the dogs there. And my dog always has a great time with all his friends.
I absolutely love It's a Dog's Life! Danielle and Mike are both great with dogs....and people! My 100 pound Bernese Mountain Dog comes home exhausted and happy and can't wait to go back the next day! I highly recommend this place to anyone that wants a great place for their dog!
