You will instantly fall in love with Lola and the tranquil setting on Vashon. Vashon is remote with little public transportation, and often unreliable ferry’s so you will need a car to explore the Island, buy groceries, enjoy the local restaurants, boutiques, art galleries, parks and beaches. There are plenty of parks and hiking trails to explore with Lola so everyday was a new adventure sometime even in the rain. We truly enjoyed our stay and caring for Lola. We experienced a two day power outage without a back up generator so it was dark & cold until the power came back on. Bring some extra sweaters & coats just in case. ( during the winter months) Lola snuggled with us in bed during that time keeping all of us warm and cozy. She is a love, so incredibly sweet, loving and always close by.
Oh, Chico, how we miss him already! From his nasally "meh" greetings to the juxtaposition of his grumpy face as he follows you around to be in your vicinity - how could you not fall in love? Chico is such a chill cat to care for. He loves sitting next to you during work, chasing ribbons while laying on his back, sticking his face into brushes, napping on the couch, and laying by your feet in the morning. With his personality and traits, he quickly became one of our favorite cats! Catrina was so kind and accommodating through and through; she offered us to stay earlier if it would make our travel plans easier, connected us to the property manager in case we needed help, and even saved us from a bind after the sit was over. She thought of everything and was so responsive despite our time difference. We had a wonderful time in London thanks to her and Chico!
Jeanette and Dudley were very welcoming hosts. They kindly showed me where everything was and left detailed instructions. Their home is beautiful and extremely comfortable in a lovely rural setting. Their Mum, Nessa, was a delight and we had some interesting conversations. Aldi is about 3 miles away and Worcester is only a little further. Thank you both for a very relaxing and restful stay.
We were Jeff and Eileen’s first sitters and all arrangements went well. We spent two weekends housesitting for them so they could have two well deserved getaways. They were considerate enough to invite us for the whole week if that was more convenient but two weekends suited us well. How kind of them to give us the choice. Their house at Goolwa was just lovely, the garden went right down to the water. We enjoyed sitting in the garden playing with Katy and Max their two adorable little dogs. Both the dogs were incredibly obedient and a joy to care for. While house and dog sitting we found we were able to get out and about without feeling restricted as the house was very dog friendly. Any prospective sitters considering this sit should not hesitate to apply. We enjoyed the sit and feel sure we will be seeing those two little terriers again sometime. Thank you Eileen and Jeff as we also got to enjoy two weekends away, what a bonus!
Patricia left me with all the supplies needed for the 2 weeks I spent with her 2 amazing dogs and hilarious group of cats. Led by the lord of the manor - Simba the gorgeous Maine Coon, the cats were always doing something funny. It was a great 2 weeks in a magnificent location. Watching the changes in the lake outside the living room - icing over, free flowing and even some whitecaps when the winds really kicked up - was amazing. The cats were quite the mixed group. Simba, Sandy and Pearl were friendly and demanded my attention and Simba stole the straws out of my drinks twice! The open stairwells made great jungle gyms for the cats - so many nooks to sit in and different places to spring out of which they made full use of. Harriet and Sam were more reserved although they could be tempted to play with the laser pointer. Luna and Smokey were reserved but interested in what was doing on around them. Would sit again anytime and any place for Pat - she's just told me she has sold the house so her dream of moving to Spain is about to happen.
Mi experiencia en casa de Alicia ha sido MARAVILLOSA!!!! Alicia muy amable, muy atenta, muy generosa desde la primera comunicación, a la llegada y durante toda mi estancia en su casa. La comunicación con ella ha sido muy fácil, fluída, y siempre dispuesta a ayudar en lo que hiciese falta. Un 10 para Alicia y su preciosa hija!! La casa en el campo es un verdadero sueño, un entorno idílico muy relajante, inspirador.... La casa, además de ser preciosa, cuenta con todas las comodidades. Y lo mejor de todo... los animales!!!! Mi experiencia con ellos ha sido verdaderamente bonita!!! Mi querido Rasmus... no puedes imaginar a un perro tan bueno, tan cariñoso, tan divertido!!!!!... He disfrutado muchísimo con él. No se ha despegado de mi para nada (ni yo de él), íbamos juntos a todos sitios y los dos disfrutábamos mucho. Es verdaderamente imposible no enamorarte de él. Rasmus tiene un gran espacio en mi corazón..... Por supuesto también los bellos Billy Joe, Rosie y Mariposa. Billy Joe, muy dulce y cariñoso. Le gusta salir a pasear con su amiga mariposa pero en cuanto te ve llegar te recibe, te saluda y te acompaña... le encanta estar encima de ti o cerca. Rosie es tremendamente cariñosa!!! Cuando le vas a dar de comer te hace una verdadera "fiesta", le encanta su comida, la agradece y te colma de cariño como agradecimiento. Y Mariposa... La gatita de campo más cariñosa que me he encontrado nunca!!!!! En cuanto siente que puede confiar en ti te busca para recibir tu cariño y tu calorcito. Es muy independiente y a la vez le encanta estar muy cerca de ti... Qué decir!!! que los 4 compañeros de Alicia y su hija son un verdadero regalo de la Vida!!! y que me encantará volver a visitaros. Infinitas gracias por todo Alicia. Nos vemos!!!!
