Rodell and Robert were fantastic hosts. The four dogs were such characters and kept us amused every day. So excited to see us each morning and loved the cuddles. Our briefing was comprehensive and communication was great throughout the sit. Hondon is like a mini Britain with many ex-pats having settled there. A great mix of Spanish and English.
Daisy with the golden hair; a lovely and gentle dog who was very easy to care for as she would show you her daily routine. Short walks mainly due to Daisy's sore paws but also, being January and clear blue skies, is was also very chilly. Herne Bay is a very pleasant place and within easy reach of other coastal villages as well as magnificent Canterbury with it's imposing Cathedral. An absolute must. A good stay and recomended whatever time of year.
My week-long stay in Ali & Ru's home in Bosham was lovely. The dogs were well-behaved, fun (and funny), and good walking companions. They are low maintenance and really just require their daily exercise, besides which they are perfectly content to hang out with you all day - in the house, at the pubs, in the garden, etc. Martie the cat is very affectionate and will spend all night cuddled up with you, if you want it. The town is picturesque, great for walks, and I was lucky to be there during a week with many gorgeous sunsets, a few of which I enjoyed in the garden watching swans in the quay. As an extra bonus, I got to have two dinners with Ali and Ru, who were great hosts, exceedingly accommodating and wonderful company! Xx
Nancy is an awesome host, super warm and friendly! Her home has about anything you could need: a roomy kitchen for cooking meals, a large guest room with a comfortable bed, and nice seating for watching TV in the living room. We also loved relaxing in the jacuzzi in the evenings. We were a little apprehensive if we'd be able to keep up when we first met Louie as he is quite energetic and has an amazing jump. We soon discovered there was no reason to worry because he is well trained and a very good boy! He loves to lay outside in the sun and run in the backyard. When not outside, he'd be wherever we were in the house. There are paved trails very close by where we could go for walks and explore a bit. We enjoyed watching a movie together on the couch, and also enjoyed watching Louie watch the movie! We really fell in love with this guy and would come back to sit him anytime!
We enjoyed our stay at Peter and Annamaria's flat . Their cats, Masha and Sergej are as lovely as their photos and have very different personalities. Sergej loves to play fetch the ball (he can even return it!) and enjoys 'chatting' with you using sort of chirruping meows. He's happy to hang out and enjoys company while Masha is quieter and spent more time by herself. The flat is very nice - spacious with a big TV and two bathrooms. Sitters sleep in the spare room on a pull out lounge which is surprisingly comfortable. The area is great with lots of interesting restaurants, a lovely park and close to supermarkets and public transport, Peter and Annamaria are lovely hosts, relaxed and friendly. They explained everything clearly, communicated well and provided written information which is always appreciated. Overall it was a lovely sit but we would encourage our hosts to provide a cleaner flat for future housesitters.
