Natasha and Adam are the lovely generous pet parents of Bella and Bruno. They stocked the fridge with vegetarian food for me and left several bottles of wine. They did delay their trip to Europe too, by 5 weeks, to have me as a sitter. How not to feel honoured?! Now, to the pets. I left my ❤️ in Lindfield. Bruno is a chill slippers and TV King Charles Cavalier. Bella is a wired pug cross - full-on energy (and an enthusiastic chewer of all things!) and quite an extraordinary beauty. They are both very endearing! Easy to walk together, Bruno trundles along with more energy than any other time of the day (bar his little mischievous moments every evening after dinner). Bella struts along perkily with such zest for life attitude! They both love their walks! The area is leafy and lovely (and rather hilly!) The house is very comfortable with a lovely garden backing into a ferny grove. Excellent, well-equipped kitchen for cooking enthusiasts. Midway between Lindfield and Roseville stations for commuters like me. Easy access to Chatswood too. Thanks to all 4 critters great and small, two and four legged, for the welcome - and the company.
Trip and Susan are incredibly kind, considerate and accommodating people. The tasks were very simple and manageable and Holly is very easy to care for. Location is just 2 blocks from the ocean and beach and the home is quiet and comfortable. I really enjoyed my stay!
Gentle giants in an art filled home on a lovely tree lined street. The Ridgebacks are big, but they are very well mannered, sweet, affectionate and pretty easy to care for. Nichole is very well organized in how she maintains her home, cares for her pets and communicated with me. Good location between French Quarter and City Park.
The Home & Neighborhood: Let me describe the home and the neighborhood—it's quite charming. The house itself has a lovely, artistic vibe with unique art pieces serving as both decor and kitchen utensils. The backyard is a tranquil haven, perfect for enjoying the outdoors on a pleasant day. Plus, it's conveniently located just 10 minutes away from the city's main attractions, making transportation a breeze. However, it's worth noting that during peak dog-walking hours, it's best to exercise caution as Rosie and Nootz aren't the friendliest towards other dogs. The Fur Babies: Caring for Nootz and Rosie was quite enjoyable. Rosie makes for an excellent running companion, although I learned the hard way that the leather leash isn't the best choice for our runs; it detached from the harness twice. As for the cats, they were generally low-maintenance, except for Lulu's tendency to vocalize her needs frequently. She's quite persistent, especially when it comes to food. To avoid any dinner table drama, I found it best to give her some space in the cat room during my meals. The other two cats are much more reserved in comparison. The Host: Meredith was a wonderful host. She provided thorough instructions and was always available for assistance when needed. We maintained regular communication throughout my stay and even had the opportunity to meet in person. Meredith's warm hospitality and artistic flair truly made the experience memorable.
Louise and her daughter Bess were the loveliest and kindest hosts we could have asked for! They were so welcoming and warm from the get go, extremely responsive, made sure that we were comfortable in our stay, and left detailed information about Tibby and the house. Tibby was the loveliest kitten we have ever had the pleasure to look after. She is extremely playful, full of energy, very gentle, and very loving. She always wanted to be in the same room as us no matter what we were doing, and often slept with us during the evenings. She loves most of all playing with her squeaky mouse toy (and we had lots of fun watching her play). The house in Knutsford and the town itself are wonderful. The house has so much history and character, and we absolutely loved it. We can't recommend sitting Tibby enough!
I had such a great experience looking after Bell and Audre! It was my first time looking after rabbits and I would certainly do it again. Alex gave very clear instructions and was always available if I needed help with anything. The house was extremely clean and tidy. Beautiful views, and an extremely comfy bed. I would highly recommend Alex's home for future sitters!

Updated: July 13th 2023 For several years now the team at My Best Friend Dog Care have helped us out when our daughter's dog,Huxley, our furry grandson comes to stay. They always manage to fit him in. Even at short notice. Today it was Lauren who has done an excellent job. As well as him looking great, he also always seems to enjoy the experience. We really can't recommend this place more highly. Thanks to all the staff who provide such a friendly and professional service. Updated: December 2022 This is a superb dog groomers. At very short notice they were able to accommodate a grooming for the dog of a family member. The dog was staying with us for a few weeks. The dog loved it and looked really tidy. We will certainly use this place again in the future, when our doggy guest is with us 🐶 Indeed we have returned : Once again Clara provided a superb grooming for our guest dog. Indeed his next visit is already booked. It is reassuring to know that such a professional service is available close by. As 2022 draws to a close, yet again our visiting dog has managed to secure several visits to Clara and her team, during his stays with us. Each time he returns looking and smelling great. He is also full of vim and vigour when we collect him.
I have used My Best Friend Dog Care for both grooming and for boarding and can't recommend the service I have received highly enough. My elderly (and quite smelly) dog always comes away looking and smelling lovely from his grooming sessions. When I needed to use Jon and Clara's boarding services they took great care to match their carer with my dog's needs and I wouldn't hesitate to use this service again. I can't think of one thing I would change about the experiences we have had over the last two years and I would highly recommend MBFC to any dog owner.
Highly recommend , Jon has found some brilliant carers to have our dogs when we are away , they have always been well looked after and have had a great time , Put your trust in Jon if you are looking for dog boarding when you are away , he will match you and your dogs to the right people. Always professional with booking the dogs in to meeting the carers and sending out invoices. Highly recommend My Best Friend Dog Care. Left our 9 month old Golden Retriever with Jon and Clara for the day and I couldn't be happier. Penny was well looked after and came home one happy pup. Lovely large garden so they can roam around freely, long walks and the online booking system is great.
We have always used My Best Friend for all of our dogs and have never once been disappointed in the care and service they have demonstrated. Jon and his team are fantastic, trustworthy and very reliable. They go above and beyond just caring for our dogs. All of our dogs have been extremely well cared for, loved and fussed over just like we have never been away. My puppy loves going to Jon and Clara twice a week, I think it's the highlight for him! He jumps out of the car, tail wagging, and pulls all the way to the gate! He has the opportunity to go for walks off lead as well as access to the garden all day and a nice sleeping area if he is tired (which is hardly ever!) I would highly recommend this service!
Poppy was welcomed by Jon And went off happily with him . I received a text that evening to say she was settled and doing fine. When we picked her up after four days she was happy and tailwagging. I would have no hesitation in recommending my best friend to anyone And would definitely leave poppy again
Visited MBF last week for a much needed nail clipping for Henny (GSP). Really impressed with the lockdown safety measures in place with a one in-one out system and a sanitiser station outside, and inside with a defined area for customers behind a series of screens, whilst everyone was fully masked. It’s clear that Clara, Jon, Lynsey & Molly are all doing their best to look after our pooches and their owners during the pandemic. We look forward coming back, hopefully in better times, but for now this will have to do! Well done gang, keep up the good work.
Our hamster, Cookie, has just spent the past couple of weeks at Fluffy Paws boarding, whilst we went on holiday, and I would highly recommend them if you need someone to care for your small animals. Zoe has been amazing, at not only caring for Cookie whilst we were away but also supporting and guiding my daughter in being more confident in handling Cookie. We had regular contact with Zoe whilst away, and my daughter loved receiving the photos and videos of Cookie to see how settled he was. Thank you again, Zoe, for all of your guidance 😍
We cannot recommend Zoe highly enough for the care of your small animal. Our beloved hamster Pouch stayed with Zoe for the week and where we were very worried about holding Pouch, Zoe has helped give us all confidence in handling and some excellent tips on play times. We feel extremely lucky to have found Zoe ☺️
Zoe has been the most dedicated and amazing person looking after my rabbits when we were away ! She has updated us everyday with photos, videos and messages. We knew how our rabbits were doing, how well she was taking care of them while taking them inside or outside depending on the weather. Their food has never been so diverse and they loved it ! We have introduced many many things in their diet and habits thanks to Zoe and the time she took to actually educate my partner and I about rabbits needs. Milo my eldest rabbit actually fell in love with Zoe and her husband. Very funny and cute to see ! They were amazing with them. Not the mention the price which was very very very fair considering all the care and attention they had ! I don’t think there is anyone able to compete with them. Zoe thank you so much again, you will clearly see these two little terrors again as I am pretty sure they are looking forward to it. Not to mention that Milo has always been scared of going on someone’s lap or in someone’s arm but it seems like Zoe’s house was a paradise for him! His behaviour changed and he is such a gentle and confident little fluff now. Thank you so much again!! xxxx
We are so glad we found Fluffy Paws Boarding! Zoe and Mike offer an excellent, professional, personal, and friendly service from start to finish. They really do go above and beyond – nothing is too much trouble. They are extremely knowledgeable; and it’s clear they love animals and know how to look after them. We knew our pet rabbit was in a safe and caring pair of hands. They looked after her brilliantly. Whilst we were on holiday Zoe sent us pictures and video clips of our rabbit which was great. The grooming service was excellent too, with our rabbit returning like she’d had a full service. She was so happy and content too – she’d obviously had a very enjoyable time. We highly recommend and will definitely use them again in the future. Thank you Zoe and Mike.
Zoe and Mike have been absolutely fantastic looking after our two guinea pigs. Our piggies have never stayed with anyone else before but Zoe's set up helped them settle in straight away, with loads of toys to play with, hay to nestle in, grass time and pen time. We were really pleased that they got lots of cuddles every day and Zoe and Mike even taught us some things they liked which we didn't know about before, like belly rubs. Zoe and Mike were super friendly and seemed genuinely enthusiastic about looking after our guineas and seemed to love looking after them, which really put our minds at rest. I would highly recommend Zoe and couldn't fault anything.
Our gorgeous Guineas spent their first stay at Fluffy Paws last week and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them! Zoe and Mike went above and beyond to make sure our daughter felt comfortable leaving her most treasured pets with them, from letting her set up their cage to sending lovely photos including the sign she had made them, which really reassured her. I honestly cannot recommend Zoe and Mike enough. I dropped off my two female bunnies to them not long ago both of which we thought were mini lops. Zoe was able to tell me that actually one of them is a lop X rex which has been a massive help to us with understanding her personality and traits. Not only did Zoe manage to bond my two girls in a week, but it's literally like I've brought home two different rabbits (in a good way!!) they've gone from me thinking that they may never be bonded and never like being picked up, nails cut or anything like that to being the complete opposite. they are now best friends, beside each other and playing 24/7, are fine being handled and cuddled. Zoe has managed to achieve everything I have trying to in months and has completely gone above and beyond for me and my two girls. She also sends regular updates with pics and videos which really help when you're missing your pets. Not only is she a lovely person but she is absolutely fantastic with animals and that stands out a mile off. I cannot recommend fluffy paws enough, I am so grateful for all of the hard work Zoe has put in and I will definitely be booking in for future boarding!❤️🐇
Our house rabbit had a great time with Zoe and Mike. They are very experienced and Lola settled in very quickly and was obviously happy with her environment. We were sent lots of updates, pictures and videos so could see what she’d been up to. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending Zoe for your small animal boarding needs.
Zoe recently looked after my tortoise Henry for a few weeks and did a great job! Zoe is very friendly and professional with a wealth of knowledge and experience! We got regular updates and pictures and I know Henry was well looked after. It's clear that Zoe is a huge animal lover and welfare and care are her top priority. I would happily let Henry stay again. Zoe looked after our bunnies for two nights in August. This was the first time we had really been apart from the bunnies since getting them but felt I was leaving them in safe hands. Had updates each day from Zoe about how the buns were and what they had been up to and a cluster of photos to reassure me that they were happy and looked after with time out of their hutch. Zoe did her due diligence in finding out plenty about what the bunnies were used to before their stay and was happy to continue providing the medication that one of my bunnies was on. We have booked in again this month and plan to for Christmas. You can tell that Zoe and her partner are animal people and really care about the pets in their care. Friendly, reliable and our dog clearly loves to stay as he always runs towards the door to greet the staff! They also send pictures so you know your dog is well and having fun. Would definitely recommend.

I cannot speak highly enough about The Retreat. We had never boarded our dogs before and were apprehensive about doing so. However when we arrived at The Retreat we were immediately put at ease. Ally and Rob met us and showed us around the impressive set up they have there. Lovely glass fronted kennels with underfloor heating, a raised bed plus access for them to a little covered outdoor area. They also have an outdoor enclosed play area with an agility course which the dogs can be taken to run around in. On top of all that the dogs get walked a couple of times a day around the lakes at the water park. The entire facility is immaculately clean and professionally run. When we collected our dogs after boarding them there for 4 nights they were in excellent condition and in no way desperate to leave. We were so impressed that we now use them for day care and despite our dogs being a clingy pair, they always happily trot off to their kennel, tails a wagging. Ally and Rob also look after anxious owners by emailing pictures of the dogs out on walks whilst you are away so that you can see that they are happy. I thoroughly recommend The Retreat for either boarding or day care.
Dixie,and Daisy were obviously very happy spending Xmas at The Retreat, they came home looking great with none of that kennel smell. Highly recommend this lovely family run kennels.
A quick review to say thank you to Alli & Rob for taking such good care of our dog. Our previous kennels closed due to the pandemic and The Retreat couldn't have taken better care of us and the dog in transitioning to a new place. We particularly like the supervised play with selected other dogs. Angus made a new friend in Sam! We will be back. The Retreat is a family run business and their commitment to the animals is clear in everything they do. Thanks again.
I would have no hesitation in recommending The Retreat! They do a wonderful job of grooming my Westie and she is always so happy to go in to see Rob & Ally. The day care service is brilliant and whilst I’ve not yet used the facility for boarding, I definitely will in the future. It’s just a shame they don’t take humans! Maddie particularly likes the dog playground and of course the fabulous walks around the lakes. Great value, professional service and a friendly welcome.
Could not fault this place, lovely well kept and friendly staff. My dog enjoyed her stay, she was able to socialise with other dogs during the day and settled very well on her first visit. Fantastic customer service and excellent rapport with the dogs. I took my dog for a very overdue groom today. We were both very anxious due to previous bad experiences with groomers but were very quickly reassured we were in good hands. A hard job well done, we both could not be happier and I will be recommending The Retreat to everyone.

What a lifesaver!! Having been cancelled on last minute on Christmas Eve by our sitter, we had to hunt for a space for our dogs Kevin and Maggie. The Retreat kindly took them on, and I am so pleased they did as they were so well looked after. Both came back tired and happy, having stayed in heated and modern kennels. Kevin is a very nervous dog and they made extra effort to ensure he was comfortable and well looked after. A very stressful situation made much easier by these guys, thank so much!
When I met with Melanie last summer to chat about daycare for our puppy, Waffle, I was immediately incredibly impressed as I was a very nervous new puppy mum! Melanie’s love for dogs is so clear to see and she has a wealth of experience. She immediately won my heart and I knew that Waffle would be safe, secure, stimulated and most importantly loved while I’m at work. Melanie has been looking after my puppy for the last three months and she has been everything I could have wished for and more. My pup comes home tired from a long day of fun, and can’t wait to be back, often not wanting to leave! Having quite an irregular work pattern and sometimes needing short notice care, Melanie has always been so accommodating and flexible which has been invaluable. It is reassuring to know that my pup is getting top quality care and being well socialised. I trust Melanie completely and I am very happy knowing he is being so well looked after. Melanie was a God send for me. Having a puppy and a job at the same time is not easy to manage. She made it easy for me. Melanie is kind and professional, and my young puppy Henry has had a great time going to hers. He was super happy to go each day and came home exhausted from a happy day of play each time. Dougal has been going to Melanie's for about 4 years now. He goes for day care once or twice a week and also for his holidays (!) Dougal is always greeted by Melanie with a big smile and he loves to lay on his back and have his tummy tickled when he is dropped off. A day at Melanie's is filled with lovely long walks (even on cold, wet, windy days - that's dedication from Melanie !) cuddles and plenty of playtime. What could be better ! I trust Melanie 100pc. In the last few years when the weather has been unbearably hot during the summer months, Melanie made sure that the dogs were kept safe from the dangers of overheating. Each dog was provided with a cooling coat - and the pooches were even treated to a paddling pool and gazebo in the garden - amazing ! Melanie is just brilliant, the best really. Always reliable, incredibly helpful and very knowledgeable. Nothing is ever too much trouble. We are incredibly lucky to have found her. Dougal comes home exhausted but oh so happy !
I have had Melanie look after My retriever several times and each time, he’s come away happy, tired and content! He got extremely excited each time he caught sight of her and I could not recommend this lady enough. Your loved one and fur baby will thank you from the bottom of its paws 🐾 100% recommend. The We Love Pets team have been walking my two border terriers for the past 7 years, more recently adding my Whippet puppy to the crew! Over 7 years Claire & her team have got to know my dogs really well, understanding the dogs quirks, especially as they are getting older, adapting especially as their needs have changed. Our current walker has been walking the dogs for a while now, including the whippet baby! The dogs love her she loves & cares for them, they’re always delighted to see her and enjoy their walks. She looks out for their welfare & notices when something is not quite right. More recently we have been using the home boarding services, this is a really welcome service where I don’t want my elderly dogs staying in kennel, I also like the fact that there is someone in the house. I feel I can go away on business or holiday and know that my dogs and home being in safe hands with a totally trustworthy team who keep me up to date with what’s going on at home! We Love Pets offer an incredible personal service with a loving touch for your pets, I would highly recommend them.
There are not many people who are brave enough to look after three boisterous weimaraners, but Claire has welcomed this wholeheartedly! My dogs absolutely love Claire, and can’t wait for their cuddles. She is so attentive to their individual needs, and she spends lots of time with them in the garden and making sure that everything is operating just right. Claire also looks after my house with the dogs in it, rather than us worrying about kennels or having to take them to someone else’s house, which provides us with so much confidence. I have no hesitation recommending Claire to anyone thinking about using her company for dog-sitting and walking services. ❤️

Claire is a fab dog walker, takes the time to get to know both the family and their pets. By understanding the needs and requirements of the dogs she’s able to plan and execute wonderful walks either alone of with a buddy. When odd occasions arise and she’s unable to attend, a friendly colleague is always on hand. Never out of the blue as she ensures that the customer has previously met the colleague beforehand. Our collie has grown very fond of her and always looks forward to his next adventure! I would recommend Claire as she is fully insured and background checked. Completely reliable and ensure our pets get their usual pettings as well as food and the basics. When our travel plans changed unexpectedly they were able to add us to their busy schedule. Michelle looked after my cat Charlie whilst we were on holiday even though he decided to eat something he shouldn’t and become ill 2 days before we went 😩 She ensured he was loved and well looked after. He was on a special diet and nothing was too much for her. I had regular updates from her and he was a happy relaxed cat when I came back. She is someone who has the best interests for your pet. I would recommend her to everyone I know. She even checked up on him when we saw her out and about! She doesn’t forget a pet!
Our Harvey has been coming to TLC since he was 13 weeks old (now 3 yrs old) and he loves it. He can’t wait to get in through the door and play with his dog friends. Michelle is lovely, very down to earth, open and honest. She looks after the pets in her care as if they’re her own. Harvey’s stayed overnight a few times and will be a couple more times later in the year, I am out at ease and have peace of mind he’s being loved and cared for. Highly recommend.
We had tlc Michele to have our coco for 3 weeks whilst in America , coco is a jack Russel and nervous , when we picked up she was so happy and content she loves Michele which make us feel relaxed to leave her thank you so much Michele your amazing
If I could give 10 stars I would! Michelle has been looking after our dog Patch for many years. Both day crèche and boarding. When I had to go into hospital recently she was very flexible with having Patch, so my husband could visit. We moved to North Yorkshire for 3 years and we still used Michelle when we went on holiday. She is an animal lover and it shows in the care she gives to pets in her care. Patch always wags his tail as Michelle takes him from me, when I drop him off - you can’t get a better review than that!
I am so happy with the care given to my dog and cat by Michelle. It was great to come home to two happy fur babies. It makes me feel safe when I go away knowing my pets are very well looked after

I have used Michelle to look after cats for 5 yrs when on holiday and my cocapoo Leo since he was 4months old at least 2-3 days aweek when I work long hours, he is now 2yrs and still loves going to Michelle's he practically runs out the door, when he see's her. The service she gives is above and beyond, the animals love her and they are the best indicators of a person's personality professionalism and stability. He has also stayed overnight and weekends with Michelle at TLC, I will be using her till one of us retires 👍😁
HIGHLY WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND! DO NOT TRUST THIS WOMAN! I initially thought Michelle was a caring woman who I could trust to take care of my 2 boys while I was away(2 beautiful male rats). I’ve never left them for longer than a few hours to go to work so I was extremely worried about leaving them in someone else’s care as they are very dependent animals. I didn’t receive updates at all and when I returned home it was a devastating sight! She had obviously neglected them and when I asked why she hadn’t cleaner their cage AT ALL she gave me rude petty replies of ‘I couldn’t get the cage open’ or ‘I didn’t want to wake them up’, knowing full well it’s extremely important to clean and disinfect at least every 2 days as they are extremely prone to respiratory diseases from breathing in their own urine, I now have rats with respiratory diseases and infections, I will be paying vet bills until they die their early death because of this! Not to mention their water bowl was filled with bedding and faeces and the water was non existent. As well as old pieces of food I had noticed from the day I had left. ABSOLUTELY SHOCKING! No care whatsoever it is disgusting. I feel sick to my stomach how someone else treated my babies and in my own trust as well.
Michelle looked after my 2 cats and canaries when I went away for the weekend. She was professional and kept me updated on how they were doing as I had never left my pets with anyone before. She is someone I will happily use again should I need someone. I recommend her to everyone who needs a pet sitter.

Our dog Otis loves it here, probably more than he likes being at home 😂 we never have to worry when we go away as Lottie goes above and beyond to make sure Otis feels at home and has the best time. Lottie makes sure to send us regular pictures and updates which we are really grateful for. It’s great having somewhere local where we can take Otis and know he’s going to be so well looked after!

Lottie is an absolute superstar! I feel so happy dropping my cockerpoo off to hang out with her and Bella and Narla. The setup she has is like a home from home and my dog is always rushing to get through the gate to play with her friends. I get regular updates including photos and videos and it’s such a relief if we’re away - I know my dog is so well looked after and happy with Lottie and Cotswold Home Boarding. Coco loves her days with Lottie at Cotswold Home Boarding. She is always excited and eager to get through that gate. She loves being with other dogs and I’m so glad to think she is socialising safely with Lottie’s dogs and any others that are staying. Cotswold Home Boarding is my go to dog sitter when required. Lucky, my 3yr old lab, has no hesitations or issues when we go and equally I have zero reservations about leaving him behind. I was reassured to see that I was able to specify a lot of items with regards the stay, such as pet socialising and feeding / walking times. 10/10 it’s a great service.

We have been using Barking Mad for almost two years and are very pleased with the service provided. Flora is always happy to see either Alun or Rosie when they collect her. We found Barking Mad after we realised that our 13-month old cockerpoo Paddy had been unhappy and very unsettled during a short stay in kennels. From start to finish the Barking Mad experience was excellent, and so well thought out. Alun came to our home and took time to meet Paddy and understand his routine and needs, and managed at short notice to find a perfect match for our energetic, playful and affectionate dog. An update with a picture to show us that he had settled in with his host Sharon, and the knowledge that Alun would be in touch should there be any problems meant that we were able to really relax and enjoy our holiday relatively guilt-free. Welcoming home Paddy was fantastic - he bounded in to our home a very happy boy indeed, accompanied by a hand-written postcard from Sharon telling us all his holiday news. Thank you Alun and host Sharon for giving us all a great holiday - and we look forward to the next one!
We are quite new to Barking Mad but everything about this service has been fantastic so far. Alun was very thorough with taking all the details of our elderly Staffie Peanut, not even flinching at her likes and dislikes! It's always a bit of a worry leaving your dog with a new sitter for the first time, but with Barking Mad everything is very well organised and you are left with no worries at all. The system of collecting and returning your dog is great, less stress for everyone. We received a picture of Peanut while she was away to show how she was getting on and a postcard report when she returned. We have no doubts that she was very well cared for and all her usual routines continued while she was away. Peanut has a couple of stays booked over the next couple of months and we look forward to using Barking Mad again in the future.
We have been using Barking Mad for many years now and always find Alun courteous and on time ,our dog Roxy even sits by the window waiting and runs to get in the car ready to go on her holiday,and we are totally relaxed as we know she is in safe and caring hands. .We also get text and pictures confirming she is ok,and a nice postcard on return telling us about her holiday.Having used Alun on multiple occasions over the last 3 years,we can highly recommend Barking Mad and would not dream of going anywhere else.
Our Lucas Terrier Stanley has now had three holidays with Barking Mad and all have been very happy experiences. Everything is extremely well organised - Alun arranges the pick-up and return with great efficiency and no fuss. For the dogs it is a great comfort that all their essential equipment - food, bedding, grooming tools and , crucially, toys go with them to ensure minimum disruption to their routine. For the owners it is a joy to receive a text or e/mail from Alun the following day - often containing a reassuring photo - telling how well your cherished pet has settled. For me that is a guarantee of a happy, relaxed holiday! Stanley arrived home in fine fettle, completely unfazed by the whole experience. I would recommend the Barking Mad service to anyone. And indeed I have!
I have been a host for Barking Mad for over a year now - I love looking after such a variety of dogs. All of them have been so well behaved and are a credit to their owners. All the dogs I have had have been on a trial with either Alun or an experienced host so I know every dog I get is going to be a pleasure to have around the house. I would love my own dog but I'm afraid they are too much of a tie right now so hosting means I get a dog when it suits me and of course I spoil them rotten for their holiday :)
Alun & his hosts have been absolutely fantastic with our 5 lb Chihuahua, Cooper. As most dog lovers could imagine, we were quite reluctant to leave him even with family, however after meeting Alun several times for test runs leading up to our big holiday, he put our minds and hearts at rest. Travelling across the Atlantic several times per year as well as taking other short family holidays abroad has always been our norm, however since getting our puppy 17 months ago, we had to change with way we lived, until meeting Alun. The trust and care which Alun and his hosts have built with our family has only strengthened the fact that we would not leave Cooper with anyone else except for Barking Mad. The great care Alun's hosts give to Cooper is even better than leaving him with family. Cooper gets regular walks, sleeps in his hosts beds and has the most amazing holiday when staying in the Cotswolds with Alun's team. Copper comes back to us as a well adjusted and very happy little dog. Wonderful Company, Wonderful Service, an all around great experience for our very much loved Cooper and for us. Thank you Alun for allowing our family to travel again.
Our dog loves Alun and trots off with him as happy as can be. We feel confident that he is in the safest hands and that is so reassuring when you are holidaying abroad. This year he is returning to the same host family as before so we can relax knowing that he will be well cared for and will enjoy his holiday too!
Our dog, Uno (a Jack Russel) was I believe, Alun's first customer, and given therefore how satisfied my wife and I (and indeed Uno) have beed with both the excellent service provided by Alun, and the care and attention given to Uno (who much like most Jack Russel's) is quite highly strung, by his hosts, we have been loyal customers of Uno and Barking Mad!
My Lab retriever Milo has been going to spatchsotch kennels for 4 years he loves socialising with the other dogs, Lynn and her team are fabulous, l wouldn't take Milo anywhere else. ❤️
Our two lurchers (Denny and Bailey) love Spatchcock, all the staff are very caring and think about your dogs as individuals. The very large enclosed paddock is brilliant as lurchers love to run at top speed, but can be prone to running off after small furry wildlife, so it's great to know they're not going to escape!! Lots of walks during the day, and meals included. Very happy dogs = very happy owners.
The Kennels are situated in a lovely remote area South some great views. The dog visited for 3 days and she had a really enjoyable time with lots of walks and fun. Since her stay, we've been back to use the training service so we can get some guidance on her behaviour on and off the lead. We spent an hour in the paddock and the dog truly loved it. We knew she enjoyed her stay, because when we got back for the training she was really pleased to see the team. We are looking forward to seeing them all again soon.
My Boys are regular guests at Spatchcock owing to my work commitments and they absolutely love it! I have a terrier type who can be a bit tricky and a chihuahua, so not the most easy going of dogs, but they are both delighted to return every time. The Chihuahua in particular, adores his stays and actually returns a happier dog! I think he finds life at home a bit dull after the fun and entertainment of Spatchcock. Lynne and her staff are just fantastic, they are brilliant at dealing with the differing needs of my dogs in order to keep them happy. Whenever they go to stay, they rush in to say hello to the staff and check out who else is staying. I never have any worries about whether they are comfortable and happy and I would recommend Spatchcock to anyone without hesitation. Thank you Lynne and Co for looking after The Boys so well and we will see you soon!
Brilliant kennels and staff that really treat your dog like their own. We were super worried about our 10 month old Golden Retriever who has separation anxiety and never been to kennels but he spent 3 days for our wedding in the area here and from the videos and updates was absolutely fine. Thanks for taking such good care of our furbaby.
We couldn't be happier with the way Lynne and the team have welcomed our dogs to Spatchcock. It's not been easy to find somewhere we are happy to leave them - but they always come back so happy and tired from their time there! We would highly recommend the excellent Spatchcock Kennels to anyone who was looking for doggy accommodation.
We've used Spatchcock Kennels for many years and our current dog Jessie (chocolate lab) loves the 3 walks a day she gets. The staff all seem to know her so well and are so friendly. Highly recommended.
Happy Well-Run Kennels I have been using Spatchcock Kennels since Lyn and Lee took it over from the previous owners a few years ago. They have made some excellent improvements to the property which is ideally suited for a kennel with the spacious grounds for exercise neatly fenced off for safety. My labrador is a very nervous, easily frightened fellow and I was worried that kennel life might be too stressful for him, but somehow Lyn and Lee have managed to make him think it's his own holiday camp or PGL! They have kept the same supporting staff - always a good sign, and always done their best to accommodate awkward changes of plan. The most important thing is that my dogs (a terrier, lab) always come home happy and well from their stay away.
We have used the kennels a number of times for our border terrier. She is always happy to go and comes back home for a rest after a great time socialising and walking with the other dogs. The owners sometimes let her sleep in her basket in the office for company while they do their paperwork. Very happy to recommend.
Our Rom rescue has stayed for different periods of time, from half day to nearly two weeks. She has come home each time with no issues. Knowledgeable and kind staff. We really enjoy seeing our pooch in the paddock on the uploaded vids, having a good sniff round and interacting with staff and other dogs.
Jo has been looking after my boy for a couple of years. He loves her and she always gets the “full-body-wag” when she comes to get him. He’s very content, and I’m happy that my dog gets first-class care when he is with Jo. Recommended without any reservations whatsoever.
My Cavapoo, Nelson, has been walking and hanging out with Jo for a couple of months now and always has the best time. Jo couldn’t be more helpful and it’s a real comfort for me knowing I can rely on her if I need Nelson taken care of.
First time for Poppy over the weekend with Jo. Nothing was any problem for Jo and Poppy enjoyed her time with her. I will definitely use again and highly recommend.

Don't take the risk. Genuinely cannot believe that this place is still receiving custom. Our family dog was absolutely terrified and disengaged on pickup after his day here. He still flinches when I try to touch his legs. God knows what happened here, but you would expect them to be taken care of whilst under the care of the pet hotel. Looks like we're not the only ones, too. I would go as far as to say that our puppy came away traumatised, whereas with other daycares he has always come home happy and with tail wagging to see me. David, the taller staff member, was awful at dealing with our puppy and kept trying to make us feel like we'd somehow not trained him enough. Safe to say that's rubbish as our pup has since had a fantastic time at other day cares and is well beyond his age in terms of training and behaviour. Regardless, I will not be returning to this pet hotel. Maybe you'll be alright if you have a dog that goes unphased, since I suspect that something happened during my pup's time here that I imagine will now cost us a fair few £ in behavioural training and recovery. Obviously posted under a pseudonym due to these people having my home address etc.
Such a lovely pet hotel, and the owners are amazing! They are super knowledgable and really care about each and every dog. They want the very best for all of their dogs and take extra care with each breed. My puppy absolutely loves going there! Four Paws is definitely the best pet hotel in Oxfordshire - without a doubt.
Do not send your dog here. We normally use home boarding, but as our dog had not been spayed yet, we had to use kennels. This looked very nice with the heated floors, ensuite, and good reviews. We were not aware of the change in ownership. Our dog is not a barky dog. So much so that when we first got her we were concerned as she was so quiet. She might nip playfully which we told them in writing. So you can imagine our shock, when we received a phone call on the second day of our ski holiday, saying our dog was barking. Please could we collect her? They did not return all of her belongings despite them being labelled as requested. The manager was not there when we collected ourr dog, we were told she would contact us. She never did. Hence this review. DO NOT leave your dog here. These people have no idea what they are doing. Thankfully our dog has not acquired a barking problem. I am even wondering if they had the correct dog. BTW they will. tell you they post daily photos, they don't look at their FB page.
Our dogs are 13, 11 and 5 and, after using the same kennels all their lives, we had to make a change after that business closed. We found Four Paws as a fairly close alternative and the team initially asked that our boys went to them for a morning for a try out which we found very reassuring. They have now had several stays and we couldn’t be happier as they have all come home looking as happy and healthy as ever. The team are friendly and responsive and have been very helpful when one or more of the boys have been on some medication. The facilities are excellent and pricing is reasonable. Leaving your dogs in the care of someone new is always hard but we have felt fully confident that they have been in a professional and caring environment. Overall, we are delighted to have discovered Four Paws and know that we have a safe and reliable place where our boys will be looked after while we are away.
Not only from working here but also from bringing my own dogs to stay i can say that the four paws pet hotel is a wonderful place. Every dog's needs are catered for and if your dog enjoys socializing they will be exercised with other like minded dogs in the secure field. Every dog is given the love and attention that they are used to having at home, as well as being groomed frequently. The kennels are immaculately clean, and the owners are very friendly and understanding with a good knowledge of a variety of breeds. I guarantee that if your dog(s) stay here, they will never want to leave!
Our Staffie has stayed at Four Paws since he was 7 months old. We cannot recommend them highly enough, We have always received a warm welcome from David & Tony. Four Paws accommodation is spotlessly clean, light, bright and very modern. As soon as we pull up to the gates our dog gets so excited and cant wait to get inside. have just picked up my JRT Toby from here and must say this place is fantastic. I have used other kennels for previous dogs but Four Paws knocks the rest out of the park! from drop off to pick up the service for myself and my mutt has been fantastic. As he is still a puppy he had a trial with these and as we were getting in our car they already had him out playing and now he is back home from a long weekend he is the most content dog. I cant write enough to explain how much he has obviously been cared for but if you are in the area I 100% recommend these. Also the prices are VERY reasonable. I have read one or two bad reviews for this place but from my experience of here I am very dubious about these bad reviews. We have already booked him back in without hesitation as we were so impressed. well done four paws team keep doing what you're doing.
A fabulous new kennels in Bampton. Lovely new accommodation with under floor heating, hammock style beds and outside areas. They have various size "rooms" to accommodate more than one dog. The kennel area is very clean as is their doggy kitchen. They have a lovely enclosed area where the dogs can play off lead. The owners obviously love dogs and look after them well. I would highly recommend the Four Paws Pet Hotel.
