A big thank you to Dan and Jody for looking after our two dogs Monty and Maddie, our house and garden so well during our 2 week trip to visit family in the UK. They are great house and pet sitters. We had good communications with them from the moment they applied to a subsequent video chat and even a visit prior to the actual sit (they only live two hours from us). It was very reassuring for us and meant we were able to go through the specifics of the dogs, house and garden with them in great detail. When they arrived for the sit the evening before our departure we just had to do a quick recap. Dan and Jody were very good with our two dogs. Both are rescues and Monty, the older one, had shown signs of stress and anxiety whenever we had gone away previously, whether we had housesitters or when we left them with other people, even when it was with friends. It was obvious that Dan and Jody are animal lovers and Monty had clearly bonded with them, in particular with Dan, following him around. Monty and Maddie were cared for really well, they got their regular walks, their familiar meal routine and lots and lots of cuddles and love as well. Maddie was even allowed to sleep on the bed :-) Dan and Jody were also happy and confident to administer eye drops to Monty every day. We also had good communications with them whilst we were away, enough to give us peace of mind that everything was fine (pictures and updates) but not bombarding us with daily messages, allowing us to switch off and make the most of our family time. A special thank you to Dan and Jody for the regular watering of our fruit and citrus trees and of the pot plants dotted around the patios that weren’t on our irrigation system. Not a small job in the extreme Alentejo summer heat! Dan and Jody were equally great and conscientious around the house. We came home to happy dogs, happy plants and a tidy house, muito obrigada. We highly recommend Dan and Jody and would definitely have them back in a heartbeat. Thanks again!
