Where do I even begin to describe this most precious of families? Kathleen and Andrew greeted me as though I was an old friend as opposed to a stranger and their tangible warmth upon my arrival left me feeling immediately comfortable with them. No one could fail to get on with this wonderful, laid back couple, I adored them both instantly. As for Molly, Gem and Bertie, it would honestly be impossible to meet more adorable dogs. They get on so well together as brother and sisters and were an absolute pleasure to spend time with. Molly is the gentlest little old lady, sleeping most of the day after her morning walk but then magically coming alive after dusk and faithfully bringing various items from her toy box and dropping them at your feet as a little gift at intervals. I’ve never met a dog who so adores evening television eIther... she was a total character, excitedly watching Match of the Day on Saturday night as avidly as any human counterpart football fan! Then there’s darling Gem who is in the middle of the three in ages. She’s the gentlest, sweetest little girl... so serene and demure with the most delicate and prettiest of faces. You barely even know she’s around, she just couldn’t be easier and is generally quietly snoozing in the same room you’re in, such is her beloved, unassuming loyalty. In the same way as Molly’s highlight of the day is her evening tv and toy box fetching, Molly’s true love is her food! You could rustle a treat packet subtly at a different end of the house and within seconds there she will be, looking up at you all hopefully! I’m sure she has bionic ears ;) Finally, little Bertie... oh, what an absolute bundle of unconditional love and fun! It would be impossible not to instantly adore him after the greeting he gives you upon arrival. He is full of such innocence, mischief and excitement but never in an unmanageable way... he is a total pleasure to have around and made me laugh constantly. He is such a jolly, happy little chap and, as with his two big sisters (and owners), I couldn’t have adored him more. Kathleen and Andrew’s house is beautiful beyond any description and I spent the first hour or so muttering ‘wow’ in disbelief. And yet you just couldn’t meet two more down to earth, humble and friendly owners as these two. In my 21 sits so far, I’ve met some incredible new friends (both human and furry) and been blessed to live in some beautiful locations... but if Carlsberg did house sits... this one truly would be its epitome of perfect in every way! Whenever I’m available in future, I would jump at the chance to return to all my new friends here in a millisecond. Thank you all so much for the love and kindess you showed me... I hope this review gives you an idea of the impression you all collectively made on me! x
A thoroughly enjoyable sit in a great location. The pets were easy peasy and we would highly recommend this sit!
I don’t know where to start on this sit. It was ten star! John and Sue Ellen are such genuine, lovely people. They communicated well before the sit and helped us settle into island life by giving us a tour of the cay on the golf cart (the transport used on the island) and introducing us to a few friendly locals. Their house is modern and immaculate, everything just works! Jade is so much fun too. He is easy to look after and he has a unique little personality which kept us entertained during the sit. Green Turtle Cay is stunning too. Many deserted beaches within few minutes of the house with turquoise water and soft sand. We saw turtles and stingray everyday! THANKYOU for the opportunity to climb into your life for ten days. We absolutely LOVED it. We are already missing Jade!
We had a great stay in Berlin at Hannah's place. Communication was perfect from the beginning and she left us all the information we needed to have an uncomplicated sit. We even got to meet her the night before and she gave us a very pleasant welcome :) Lucy & Fred were a little shy at first, but after a little time, they were just too curious and wanted to spend time with us <3 Hannah's flat has everything, you could wish for and we really enjoyed the cozy balcony as well as exploring the neighborhood and the close distance to the centre of Berlin. If you are looking for a place to stay in Berlin with easygoing pets and a lovely host, we can really recommend those three!
I had a wonderful time in Lanjarón with Bowser and Peach. They are such sweet kitties! Especially Bowser is very cuddly, he liked to come sit on my chest while I was on the couch. But also Peach, who is more reserved, liked to come and sit somewhere close to me. I really couldn't help falling in love with those two! Hannah and Ed are kind and easy-going people. Their welcome guide is pretty impressive, and they were always available to answer questions or give some additional information. The house is idyllic. A beautiful cortijo on the mountain above Lanjarón. Close to everything, yet very quiet and with beautiful views over the mountains. Oh, and those sunsets! A bit cold during winters, especially during the nights, but totally worth it! An excellent place to discover the beautifil Alpujarra. And when you have more time it's not so far away from Granada or the Mediterranean coast, although I preferred to do that after my sit. Thank you Hannah and Ed!
