I greatly enjoyed my time with Ryder at Oscar's lovely home. Ryder is such a joy to be around. She's so loving and sweet, incredibly well behaved and wonderful company. We had a blast adventuring around the neighborhood together - everyone knows and loves her! She loves her walks, she loves to be pet and doted on, she's gentle and quirky and will make you smile all day. I miss her so much already! Oscar's home is beautiful! Even nicer than the photos and the neighborhood is central with everything you could want right at your doorstep. The place was refreshingly clean and perfectly appointed - I felt like a guest, treated with care and hospitality. I am grateful for the whole experience and definitely recommend this home for a loving, affectionate sitter.
No one welcomes sitters like Christine and Gerhard! They graciously welcomed me into their home with kindness and excellent communication from the very beginning to the end and beyond. They are well-traveled and humble humans—probably some of the best, if not THE best, hosts I’ve had to date (and I’ve completed over a dozen sits). I’d love to sit for them again, but if I can’t, one of you lucky souls should not hesitate. My whole experience with them, Anton their cat, being in their home, and beautiful surroundings is something I’ll never forget. I truly feel like I’ve made new friends with the three of them and that is very rare for me on THS. Anton, my King, my buddy! He’s a pleasure to get to know. I don’t think I’ve ever bonded with a cat as much as I have with Anton. It’s been four days since the sit ended, and I miss him. He has such a great personality. He does need some time to warm up but don’t most cats? He’s got lots of toys and Christine & Gerhard do an excellent job communicating all things Anton. He LOVES to chill. I enjoyed having coffee with him and cuddling with him on the couch in the mornings. Also, at dinner or after dinner was another great time to chill with Anton by your side or on your lap/legs. He’s a big sweetie! Once he knows you’re his caretaker, he just melts like butter for you. You’ll see. Their home is modern, comfortable, and cozy. It’s got all the up-to-date conveniences you need for day-to-day life, including a dishwasher, washer, dryer, shower, tub, and more. The bed was super comfortable. The neighbors are kind and lovely. Christine and Gerhard took the time out of their busy schedule to show me around their town, Eckernförde. It’s a 15 minute bike ride from their house, and they let me borrow a bike. Very convenient and kind of them. The town has everything including a weekly farmers market, a variety of grocery stores (bio-markets as well), delicious restaurants and coffeeshops, newly remodeled sauna in town, gyms, clothing shops, and lots more. There were even a couple dozen cultural events happening in town while I was there for a month. I didn’t even get to half of what Eckernförde has to offer. Of course, the nearby forests and sea were the activity highlights for me. What a place! Must see! Christine and Gerhard do a phenomenal job making sure you have everything you need for the sit and beyond. Thank you thank you thank you and hope to be back again :).
Tracy was fantastic, she was very laid back and easy going. The communication was excellent and the house was very clean and bright. The three cats were wonderful; Floris was super cuddly from the very beginning. Frida was shy In the beginning but she warmed up to us after a few days. Frankie is very independent but likes his treats. We really enjoyed our stay at Tracy's looking after her amazing cats. We felt at home there and we already miss the cats:)
Traci and Ryan have a beautiful dog and a beautiful home! Bella truly is an amazing animal. She is well-behaved, fun to be around, and has an absolutely adorable personality. She loves attention but is not super needy or demanding like some dogs can be. Taking care of her was so much fun and not very difficult. I took her for walks when the weather was nice, but you also have the option of letting her out in the back when more convenient. She's a cuddler and slept with me every single night. She follows commands very well and I literally only heard her bark once (while we were on a walk). She gets very excited when you get home but settles down pretty quickly. The house was very clean and had everything you would need for a short or long stay. Traci and Ryan communicated effectively and made all of their expectations clear from the beginning. It was truly a pleasure to stay at their home and sit Bella while they were on vacation. I recommend all three of them to all sitters on this site.
