I spent a month keeping Cobi company in Alex and Rudy's beautiful home. It was such a pleasure to stay with Cobi and get to know them. They're welcoming hosts who communicate clearly. Their home is in a wonderful area, where it feels like a small town even though you're still in the city. Alex and Rudy warned me that Cobi can be a bit of a salty old lady. I see where she got this reputation, although mostly she's a total sweetie. The problem is that she looks like a toy and you really have to suppress the urge to pick her up and squeeze her, because she's a dog who doesn't want to be treated like a toy. I have approximately a thousand pictures of her on my phone because she is absolutely adorable, especially when she's napping in her little nests. Cobi is a bit cat-like in requiring cuddling to be on her terms and expressing when she's done. Luckily, she's in the mood to cuddle and play much of the time. When she would come sit in my lap it felt like a stamp of approval. She may as well be a puppy when she's in the mood to play. When she's in the mood for alone time she curls up in one of her beds and relaxes. Cobi is very low maintenance. I was watching a puppy before Cobi, so it was quite nice to have a dog who was perfectly fine being left home alone. In bad weather she was content to do a quick loop around the block. On nice days she was happy to explore the neighborhood with me. The house has everything you could need, with a fantastic kitchen. Their home is full of art and things from their travels. The cold weather meant I really enjoyed their gym and the heated floors in the bathroom. I loved having a house full of plants and they were very forgiving of the fact that one of them did not thrive under my care. It was lovely to be able to watch the birds in the yard. We got enough snow that Cobi basically had a snow fort, which was super cute. The city clears the sidewalks, so I only had to do supplementary shoveling. Before the sit started we thought we might have to cancel it because of covid, so we came up with various backup plans. The city went into lockdown the day I arrived, my flight was cancelled and changed several times in both directions, and the city got an exceptional amount of snow during my stay. Throughout it all, Rudy and Alex were helpful and flexible. I needed to be in Toronto to take care of legal paperwork and finalize my citizenship, all of which was complicated by lockdown. Having such a comfortable home, a sweet dog, and a quiet neighborhood made a stressful time much easier for me.
I wish I could give 6 stars! Gheera was an absolute pleasure! Home was very clean, comfortable! Hosts were incredibly kind and communicative!
Juliet and Hans have an immaculate apartment in a modern high rise in the Navy Yard neighborhood. It was a comfortable and easy home to spend time with Lewis and Clark. They are sweet cats, almost identical! Fun companions and easy to care for. An excellent sit! I highly recommend it.
Sarah is the most wonderful, thoughtful host and her animals and home are a delight! Sarah's family home is so lovely and so comfortable that we didn't venture far afield, apart from the local pub, great field and playground, striking church and churchyard and the wonderful RSPB reserve close by. Our daughter was enthralled with the chickens and the garden and the many opportunities to be creative! It was very easy to relax at Sarah's, in a pretty village surrounded by countryside (and blackberries!!). Highly recommended!
Taking care of Buddie is a real privilege! I could tell from the outset that Carrie was looking for someone who would follow her routine and treat Buddie and her home with love and respect. She calls him a ‘sensitive soul’ and it’s so clear to see why. Buddie is a truly grateful rescue dog, well trained and humble. He rarely barks, he knows how to behave in and out of the house; and he can sense when you need a little TLC! I was looking forward to some great beach adventures but spent two of the days stricken by illness. Despite that, it was my responsibility to make sure Buddie got the walks he needed and deserved. I really enjoyed going out with him, even when I was unwell… yet in between times, I went back to bed with Buddie curled up beside me. Carrie’s home is modern, welcoming and very clean. I’m grateful for the opportunity she gave me to spend time with Buddie. I miss him terribly today and truly hope there will be other occasions to care for him. Thanks for your hospitality Carrie!
Lucy and Louise are absolutely adorable and so friendly and snuggly! The house is beautiful and in a great location, close to so many things yet quiet and very walkable. Chandra left perfect and thorough instructions and everything we needed for a great stay and sit. Would definitely come back!

After a last minute debacle with my normal boarding facility, I had to scramble to find a place on such short notice with which I felt comfortable and confident to leave my fur baby, Duke. I reached out to 2 highly recommended/reviewed boarding facilities, and while both replied with availability, only Domestic asked if I would like to view the facility. I immediately said yes to the tour, and upon arrival, was greeted very warmly by the owner, Therese. After only a few minutes, I knew this was the place for Duke. The fact that she only takes 4 dogs at once ensures constant love and attention. In addition, the location/facility felt very home-like. The dogs have plenty of toys and much needed interaction/socialization. Photos and updates were provided over the 2 weeks that Duke was there and he even made some equine friends. I would definitely recommend Domestic Pet Care to anyone needing boarding care. Prices are extremely reasonable; In my opinion, so much so that I tried to give more but it wasn't accepted. Domestic Pet Care also provides a Veteran discount and a New Customer deal. I can guarantee that Duke will stay there again, along with my new pup, Tessa (once she arrives).
Therese has the ideal setup for boarding and we couldn’t have been happier with her services. She has 2 large fenced in areas for the dogs to play in and a nice clean indoor setup w 4 air conditioned kennels. We loved that she only boards 4 dogs at a time and never let’s the dogs play unsupervised. Our dog was not spayed yet so she made sure to pay close attention to who she could play with. We had a 1 week vacation across the country only 1 month after getting our 6 month old Lola and were very worried she would have a tough time with separation anxiety, etc. Therese gave us daily text updates with pictures letting us know she was having a great time and playing nicely with a couple of the other dogs. When our flight changed Therese was also very accommodating and had no problems letting us pick her up a day after we had originally scheduled to. We will definitely be coming back to DPC next vacation! Thanks, Therese!
Went to Fl for 4 days, googled kennels because pie regular was booked. Found this one and loved it! She sends daily pics and lets you know how your dog is doing. I would 100% recommend Therese and will be going back!
Therese is great. She knew I was nervous about boarding my dog so she sent me a few pics during her stay to ease my mind. The room where my dog spent most of her time was well air conditioned, clean, and there was a tv for back ground noise (which my pup prefers). There’s a clean outdoor play area with lots of toys and she only accepts a few dogs at one time so each animal gets the attention they deserve. I talked to about four boarders/kennels before choosing Domestic Pet Care- the other facilities I spoke with were not even amendable to letting me view the facility beforehand (sketchy). I I feel safe leaving my pup here. FYI…first responders get a discount.
Therese was amazing. We received multiple updates. Just when I was thinking I wonder how the dogs are doing, I would get a text with a photo of them. She had jackets on them when it was cold and I was able to have an awesome weekend with no worries. Domestic Pet Care was convenient and affordable. When you have a trip that you are not able to bring the entire family (pets), Domestic Pet Care will take care of the pets for you and treat them like family for you.
Theresa took loving care of our senior golden, and let us now immediately of any issues he had (itchy ears). She even cleaned his ears with our permission. Domestic Pet Care provides a lovely home-like experience in a quiet country setting, with a lovely exercise yard. Compatible dogs even have supervised play together! Our pupper had a great experience here.
We have two teacup Schnauzers - both less than 5 lbs. We are reluctant to leave them with anyone. Therese's kennel is small, safe, clean and she is an absolute gem! I highly recommend her.
We were in a jam and Therese really helped us out and took care of our shy dog this past week. She sent us photos throughout the week and our dog played with some of the dogs which she doesn’t normally do at other kennels. Therese had a great set and up and we were impressed with how she took care of our dog. We will definitely use her in the future.
Our 2 fur babies did great here. They are both rescues and scared of everything so we could not leave them in a kennel. They were well cared for and in great shape when we returned. We are so thankful for personalized attention, loving care, cool and relaxing space and daily access to a nice play yard for exercise!
Therese is wonderful! I have a dog who can be very anxious in new situations and I felt completely comfortable with Therese watching him. She went out of her way to get him used to the place (letting us tour, do a half day visit) etc. I can’t thank her enough for giving these dog parents a weekend break! It was stress relieving knowing he was in capable hands. I will absolutely be returning. Thanks Therese!
Quality Time has been caring for my pets while I’m away for over 10 years. It’s nice to get to vacation without worrying about my fur babies. Ella was my sitter for my most recent trip. She was awesome! She sent updates and photos each visit. My pets were happy and safe with Ella.
Toby is a long-haired Chihuahua and he is very difficult when getting his nails clipped.Quality time handled him with care and did a great job👍 …
Marie and the folks at Quality Time have been very helpful in caring for our creatures when we travel. They are thorough and responsive and truly seem to care for the pets in their charge.
Marie has a gold star company! I fully endorse Quality Time for their commitment to ensuring customers and fur babies are taken care of. Laura, our dog walker, exemplifies the highest standards and made sure both of my dogs were happy. Especially considering that one of my dogs is a bit slow to trust new people. She navigated that beautifully. I highly recommend Marie and Quality Time.
Quality Time pet sitting cared for my indoor and outdoor cats and were wonderful! I will certainly use them again. Marie and Rob are so friendly and care deeply about animals. My indoor cat is not usually social with people she does not know but Rob was able to become her friend! He was the best! I would highly recommended them.
Absolutely love Quality Time! I'm a former dog walker and this company meets and exceeds all my expectations! Making appointments is super easy and their price is reasonable. Ruth has been our pet sitter and I always feel comfortable leaving my cats in her care. She is a super warm person who I knows really cares about our little pets! My pets love her too - it's like a treat when they get to see her! She always leaves notes and will text if she needs anything! I'm super happy with their service and highly recommend them to anyone.
We hired Quality Time to take care of our retriever and cat. They offered a lot of other services, like watering plants, bringing in mail, etc. I appreciated the attention to detail for both animal care and the logistics for the house.
We love Quality Time! Marie is great to work with and we never have problems with the reservation or payment processes. Vickie has been caring for our cats for a few years now - including our diabetic cat - and she is fantastic! Even our cranky cat loves her, and she does a wonderful job caring for them and taking care of stuff around the house in our absence (getting the mail, opening and closing blinds, etc.). We couldn't be happier to recommend their services!
We’re thankful for the great team at Quality Time! From the most thorough introduction meeting I’ve ever experienced with a pet sitter, to great communication and superb attention to directions and details, we’re happy we chose Quality Time!
Quality time is made up of caring professional people. When I had need for a mid-day dog walk they were more than glad to cover that. When I had need for an evening visit they were there for me. They are bonded and insured and love working with pets.
