Lisa was a wonderful Housesitter. She had to deal with a hot water tank that suddenly broke down, with a dominant Mastin Español and with all our pets - 3 dogs, 2 of our own cats and many stray cats and 2 different groups of chickens - but she dealt with it all, the animals loved her including the chickens! When we got back the house was clean and tidy and happy contented animals. Lisa even left us a beautiful painting. We would throughly recommend Lisa.

James

If we could give James extra stars, we absolutely would! We loved having him as our dog sitter. He sent us daily photos and videos, and it was clear from our dog's behavior in them how much she liked him. We highly recommend James and hope to have him back soon! 10/10!

This is the second time Reg has looked after my cat, Kenya, and my house for over a month. He sent regular updates with lots of photos of Kenya who was obviously very relaxed. I came home to a house cleaner than I left it, and he even left some food for me in the fridge! I would definitely recommend Reg to anyone.

We have had several successful sits previously and we're sorry that the recent sit with Lisa looking after our pets and home didn't work out for either of us. I think both sides feel let down by the other.

Lisa left the sit a day and half before we were due to return, and my 82 year-old mother, who lives locally, had to take over. We also had to return early to relieve my mother. All of this disrupted the last few days of our six-night break.

We'd agreed that Lisa would come from Friday 21 June to Friday 28 June. This meant that we could share a meal with her and have time for a handover, and so she could familiarise herself with our home and meet our pets.

For the first few days, everything seemed fine. As agreed, Lisa sent a WhatsApp with photos to let us know everything was ok. 

Lisa arrived having hurt her foot and with a flare-up of a pre-existing health condition that meant she was in pain. Because of the pain I had put her in touch with my 82 year old mother who lives locally and can help if necessary. When they met, Lisa said she was struggling with the watering and mother offered to help which she did on Wednesday, the following day. Lisa also WhatsApped me about the pain and needing medical attention, and I did my best to suggest solutions, relying on my mother who was available and willing to help.

The following morning, a day and a half before we were due to return, Lisa rang my mother at 6.15am and asked her to take over as she was leaving. My mother got there at 7.30am. Lisa didn’t tell me that she was leaving, relying on my mother to tell me. 

We provide detailed information in advance of sits. What I have learned from this sit is:
- to confirm in advance that the house is smoke- and vape-free as we are both non-smokers.
- to check whether the sitter is expecting any visitors.
- to check that the sitter is able to open and close and lock all external doors as I had to call a locksmith who talked me through how to fix one lock, and another door was left unlocked, leaving us vulnerable to burglary as we didn't notice until the day after we got home.
- to check that the sitter understands the recycling arrangements so I don't have to go through everything and put it in the correct boxes and bag.
- to clarify expectations around a sit to ensure both the home owner and sitter support the mutual exchange ethos that is at the heart of the zeewoi platform. Lisa has blocked me on WhatsApp and sent me a message via the zeewoi app, saying that we should pay for a housesitter and were taking advantage by using zeewoi.

It's a shame as our previous experiences with zeewoi have been good. Possibly, if Lisa had not been in pain, she might have enjoyed the sit.
