I had such a wonderful experience staying at this lovely home on beautiful Bainbridge Island. The chickens are a hoot and fun to care for. Would definitely recommend!

We loved this sit with Doc and Lucy!!! Such great dogs and great pet parents. Andrew and Alison's house is warm and full of character. We felt right at home. Location is close to the beach, restaurants, and the free trolley. It was fun taking the trolley around town. We also enjoyed our daily walks to 1000 Step Beach with the dogs to play fetch. Andrew and Alison are excellent communicators, instructions were clear, and they responded quickly to our questions. We highly recommend this sit, and look forward to sitting for Andrew and Alison again in the future.

Frances and Paul were great hosts. We arrived at their home a night early to meet them and the pets. The animals are all a little older and require individualized care. It was extremely helpful to see everyone's routine in person. It was also fun to spend the evening with Frances and Paul. We enjoyed dinner, wine, and sharing stories.

Callie takes shorter walks now that she is older but still loves lots of cuddles. Madison and Salem took turns sitting in our laps and soaking up the attention. Anakin is the liveliest of the bunch and loves playtime and racing about the house. My husband loved taking 10 minutes out of his day to feed Lizzie the turtle.

The house is quaint and in a great location; great for wine tasting and exploring Napa. The yard is fantastic. We spent one of our days sipping wine and playing games on the back deck. It was like being at our own private resort.

I highly recommend pet sitting for Frances and Paul and would jump at another opportunity to do so in the future.

I’ve taken my time to type this review to ensure the diplomacy of this feedback, so it is constructive.

The intention for this review is to provide awareness for the owners, so they can create a healthy environment for the animals and a positive experience for future sitters.

The representation of this apartment appeared to be bright and clean on the TrustedHousitters app. I was informed, beforehand, that the apartment was cluttered and I was understanding. I anticipated a sanitary environment that smelled clean or at least a neutral odor.

To my dismay, the stench rooted from the hallway bathroom where Tody, the cat’s, litter box was located. The litter had some flies swarming above the litter box.

The pet food was stored alongside the litter box next to the designated trash can for Tody’s feces & urine clumps, all compacted within the bathtub. I switched out the litter for clean litter, scooped out the litter box twice a day, and tossed the bag of remains into the dumpster to reduce the smell. I held my breath every time I entered the bathroom regardless of my attempts to eliminate the toxic odor. I moved all the bags of pet food from the bathtub and placed it away from the litter box as animals don’t like to eat where they defecate let alone eat food that has absorbed particles of feces & urine. I also moved the cat food bowl outside the bathroom for Tody to dine in a more sanitary area that was out of reach for Annie the dog, so she wouldn’t devour Tody’s food.

In addition, the master bed I was assigned to sleep on had dirty sheets due to the couple running out of time to prep. I booked an Airbnb because my senses are keenly sensitive and it was an unbearable atmosphere for me energetically. I didn’t want the owners to feel insulted, so I told them the distracting odor and compactness of the space as to why I was choosing a welcoming abode with Airbnb.

I drove across Austin 3x each day (morning, afternoon, and evening) to honor my commitment tending to the animals 5-6 hrs everyday. I walked Annie during the heat of 103 Fahrenheit degrees in the afternoons for only 15 minutes, which was not a safe protocol due to the heat advisory from the city, but I complied to the owners’ request for 7 days.

I spent time with Tody & Annie recreationally everyday with love and the utmost care. They were all I could think about 24/7 because I wanted to ensure they were always happy. I took Annie for a walk in the park underneath the shade in the morning. I turned on classical & jazz music for Annie when I would leave because dogs enjoy that soothing beat. As for Tody, the cat, I played sounds of nature to stimulate her mind and boost her spirit ( she appeared sad from the moment I entered the apartment).

This was a very challenging housesit that costed me A LOT of sweat, time, and actual tears. Upholding the integrity of this network and health of the animals matters AND empathy for the sitter. My experience of this place was borderline negligent from the owners due to the toxic smell and dinginess of the environment.

What was required from me was a lot to ask for with nothing to give in which would be an actual fair trade. I felt duped and like Madison didn’t particularly care about my own humanity, just another person to get this demanding job done.

The greatest lesson I learned from this experience is:

I am able to work joyfully regardless of the circumstance and serve 100% excellence in ANY situation.

We had a wonderful time housesitting at Robyn's house looking after Louis and Storm. Robyn was really warm and welcoming and had clear instructions for the house and cats. The house is beautiful and Kiama is a stunning location. Louis and Storm were great company, easy to care for and cuddled up on the couch with us at night. It was an absolute pleasure - thanks so much for having us!

Cherry, Toots, Holly and Rocky are just lovely. We arrived a day before Cherry left so that she could show us everything. We had a really great time at her place, a comfy room and everything we needed. The dogs were really clingy when Cherry was away which was so cute. There wasn't much work to do except from feeding the dogs and taking them for a walk once a day. There are some really cool things to explore in the area but it's also quite nice to stay around the house and garden if you need some relaxing time. Lots of cuddles for the dogs and maybe some gardening work for Cherry are really appreciated!
Thank you so much Cherry and hope to see you again soon?!
