I had a great time taking care of Stevie and Slash - they're wonderful dogs who are well-trained and well-behaved. The dogs normally travel with their humans, but in the rare event that they do not, you're in luck. Stevie and Slash are very young and energetic, so even with their three to four walks per day they'll want more; I found it impossible to wear them down. Even when all I was doing was throwing a ball or a stick for the dogs to retrieve, I tired before they did! At the house the dogs always want to be with you, whether you're cooking, reading, or sleeping. They're really affectionate animals - the ultimate extroverts. I guarantee that you'll want to be around them as much as they want to be around you. Emily and Brian have a beautiful house and yard, with lots of light and plenty of room for dogs and humans. You should have a car, though, as this is a quiet, residential part of Seattle. Highly recommended!
We loved our time house sitting for Harry and the Bantams. Harry is a gentle older dog and loves company always being by our side in house or garden. We enjoyed this peaceful location in a beautiful home and surrounds. Each of the Bantams Speckle, Lavender and Fudge had their own personalities, loving their treats and were easy to look after. Walks with Harry were slow and short to suit his needs now, but provided a lovely walk in the quiet and pretty village of Bucklebury. Piers and Viv were kind and generous hosts, inviting us to a meal on the evening before they left to holiday. Information was full and comprehensive and we were grateful for every home comfort. Thank you, we would love to return again should the opportunity arise.
Tammy left good instructions on the dogs and house. Her home is very warm and welcoming! She was a great communicator so i understood what my responsibilities were. Zues and Sam are huge honeys. I really enjoyed snuggling them. They have lots of energy on the leash and enjoy burning it off at the dog park. The area is very convenient for shopping, groceries etc. Make sure to check out the Riparian Water Preserve-so many birds, turtles, fish and plants.
We had a peaceful time at Sophie and Jon's beautiful home whilst looking after the loving Alfie. Sophie and Jon were lovely and receptive, they showed us around the house and the surrounding area, gave us tips on places to go and all the necessary instructions, being always at our disposal on WhatsApp. Jon and Sophie were great hosts! The house is beautiful, very well equipped and comfortable, not to mention that the nature around is inspiring and the house has beautiful pieces of art. The chicken care routine is easy and peaceful, and the eggs are delicious. Alfie is a caring and calm gentleman, looking after him is easy and he is a good buddy. He loves his naps and meals, but he is also happy walking around the gardens (it was really cute to watch him play in the grass). Alfie is an old friend, so he deserves patience and care, and we were happy to respect his time during the walks, as it must be done by any sitter who would have the pleasure of spending some time with him. Besides the beautiful surrounding area, the house is located a few minutes'drive from Winchester which is a must considering it's a beautiful city to visit. We are grateful for the trust that Jon and Sophie placed in us and happy to have looked after the old buddy Alfie. We highly recommend this sitting!
Luna, Cosi and Orca are cute, affectionate and happy animals! They play together and will follow you around the house and the big outdoor space. It's so lovely to see them enjoy themselves, they have the life all pets should have! Luna is amazing, sweet and joyful, a pleasure to walk freely on the countryside road around the house or on walks on the lovely Ridgway. She is great on the lead as well, a star in the pub. Orca and Cosi are independent and cuddly, so so adorable! They are all so good with children. Lucy has been an amazing host, we had a phone call and a video call prior the sit and was always available to reply to any questions (we didn't have many anyway!). The house is lovely and comfortable for the whole family, set in beautiful countryside. Thank you Lucy, Ned, Wilf and Albie for trusting us!
Our time caring for Amy and Michael's animals and house was totally simply perfect. Michael's calm, trusting demeanor made us feel at home immediately. Given the variety of needs for the animals, I found it very helpful that they gave us a day to go through the care and feeding routine with them present. By the time they departed, I felt confident that we would be able to provide proper care for the goats, chickens, ducks, cats dog and cats. No details were left unaddressed. The homestead is well kept and very well organized. Fencing is in excellent condition. Animal enclosures are secure and easy to operate. Their system for feeding and watering is smart, reliable and low maintenance. The casita offered privacy and was very well furnished. It was very clean. Wifi and cell signal was reliable and strong.
