Caring for adorable Barney and meeting Melissa and Chris made this housesit one of our favorites! Barney is one of the sweetest and most well behaved dogs we have cared for. He is loving, well trained and just wants to please you. We have never seen such pure joy th as him racing down the beach and plunging into the ocean. Everyone on the beach was captivated by his spirit and friendliness. He is happy, too chasing tennis balls or just cuddling with you on the sofa. Melissa and Chris are the perfect hostess and host. They made us feel so welcome and comfortable in their beautiful, spacious home. The first night we enjoyed a homemade gourmet meal that rivaled any restaurant on the island. We enjoyed talking with them about their travels and wish we had more time together. Melissa and Chris' home is like a peaceful island escape, quiet with incredible views of the golf course right outside their deck. Their kitchen is a dream come true! Our bedroom ensuite had plenty of room for our luggage and the bed was extremely comfortable. St. Simon's and Sea Island offer so many things to see and do. Walking on the long secluded beaches first thing in the morning was heavenly plus Barney made it even better. There are hundreds of restaurants both casual and upscale close by. If you are a history buff this is the place to be. This is a 5 star housesit! We do not know how it could be any better. We miss Barney!
