The most important thing I should note about house-sitting for Danielle is that she is among those house-sittees/homeowners who embraces the exchange on TRS as mutual rather than one of disproportionate bargaining power. That is, she was from the very beginning highly trusting and respectful, and eager to ensure that our stay at her apartment, with Dakota & Echo, was as much a pleasure for us as whatever wonderful trip she was off to. Although our long drive to and from LA meant we didn't have the opportunity to meet Danielle in person, she left the apartment in impeccable condition, basically as if we were AirBnB guests. ❤️❤️❤️ Alexia and I will miss Dakota & Echo dearly, and I expect we'll be talking about them for days of weeks to come as something of "phantom limbs", lol. Echo has cattle herding instincts, which he employs on Dakota to great amusing effect. Dakota, meanwhile, is a spaniel who loves to chase scents. We were a bit hesitant to use the choke collar at first, but Dakota is already well-adjusted to it, and will cease yanking where he otherwise would. That is, we highly recommend using the choke collar; he's more likely to hurt himself without it than with it. The apartment complex/unit are very nice. It's in the West Hollywood universe, but a bit offset to the south so as to be less hectic. The Fairfax, 217, and 218 bus lines will get you pretty much wherever you like in West Hollywood, etc. That said, the cliché of LA strongly requiring a car still holds true. Luckily, I-10 is not so far, so you can quickly zip around to the beach or wherever with ease. Our house-sit was very smooth and seamless. One more thing worth noting is that Danielle's key lockbox requires you to push somewhat forcefully to open it. For a brief moment, we thought we had the wrong code -- nope, just push harder!
Adrienne was very gracious and cooperstive, and the pets are adorable: all very loving. The time went fast, and it was tough to leave. I would certainly return.
A great sit and I’m missing sweet Tchoupie! She’s a funny, chatty girl. We liked to take walks down the hall in the building so she could meow at the doors, then we would run back. It took her a little while, but then she would lie on my stomach and chest and softly purr. She also likes to play with her pretty ribbons on the stick. The apartment is very comfortable in a great location between two bus stops to get anywhere in Nantes. It’s a short walk to groceries and a bakery as well. Communication with Margaux was excellent and she kindly picked me up to show me everything the day before and dropped me off after returning home. Merci beaucoup!
We had a lovely time looking after Tazzie and Bertie in Jenny and Johns comfortable home. Everything was straighforward, Jenny was very communicative and happy to have a family to stay. Tazzie is very affectionate and easy to care for, as long as you leave your possessions out of reach. We took her with us on days out and she was happy to go in the car and very easy around people and other dogs. The pool was a luxury and the garden perfect for the kids to burn off energy. Ticehurst is a really cute little village with a couple of cafes and pubs. There are plenty of country walks nearby. Thanks for having us.
Louis and Chanel are loving dogs. They get very excited to go out for walks, and love to play ball on the back deck. They are well-behaved for the most part, as long as you don't leave certain things lying around. ;) Louis can get "mouthy" (using his mouth to try to grab or direct humans or get more attention), but learned quickly not to do that when I walked away each time he did it. Maria ensured that I knew everything I needed to know before leaving, and was responsive to messages even though she was traveling overseas. I would sit for Louis and Chanel again if the opportunity comes up. :)
Mr. Books is a super cute little guy who loves to fetch, chase a laser, and never grows tired of playing games. Liz’s home is perfectly situated in Snowmass Village with beautiful views and mountain access. We especially enjoyed the sauna, hot tubs, and grill. This is a great sit for anyone who enjoys the mountains and the company of an energetic and playful feline companion.
