Sheril greeted me at my arriving day. She showed me around and we had a very nice conversation. Her 2 cute cats were very handsome and I really enjoyed the time out at her flat. When Sheril came back from her trip she kindly drove me to my actual place. Thanks for service and for your trust.
We found this sit to be very soul enriching! Between the gorgeous scenery, lush garden and wonderful pets, our cup runneth over. Crista left excellent instructions for the gardens and the pets. Rio and Luna (the dogs) were perfect companions. We fell head over heels for them both. They welcomed Hershey (our lil dog) into the pack from day one. It was like they were all life long friends. Rio and Luna are super happy dogs. Rio, being 15 years old, moves a little slow and doesn't have a huge appetite but loves to be together and go on his walk every day. Luna is an absolute lover! She loves her belly rubs and I swear she smiles all day long. They enjoyed their short walks together in the mornings (Rio only goes on the short morning walk) and Luna and Hershey loved a longer hike in the afternoon. Squeeks and Chubs (the cats) showed up daily to be fed and loved on and then went on their way to hang out in the garden. Easy peasy! The backyard is so beautiful!! I found it very relaxing to water and tend to the gardens a few times a week and Crista was quick to reply to any questions or clarifications I had. The home was extremely comfortable.... Full of original art, beautiful outdoor space, all the cookware you could possibly want, trails right out the door, ocean views, great neighborhood! I would definitely recommend this sit if you get the chance!
Communication with Geoffrey and Sue was great from the start both on THS and the phone. They made me very welcome the day before the sit with dinner and a drive around town to show me the shops/their Vet and other amenities and left me provisions too. The house is almost directly opposite Quota Park where the "girls" love their walks (though being older they amble and sniff rather than walk briskly). Penny & Molly are adorable, both deaf (Penny more so) but respond to gentle hand gestures and certainly know dinner times and the treat cupboard! Penny is incredibly affectionate and loves cuddles, Molly took a little longer but wanted the same when she saw Penny being held. You will need a car to get around, though the main shops are only minutes away by car and there is everything you will need both in town and at the Big W Mall. Maryborough is full of historical gems, from Mary Poppins to wonderful museums and Queens Park. I am hopeful that I will be asked back at some point as a truly five star sit.
Taking care of Helen was an absolute pleasure, she is an old and super sweet kitten, it was very easy, her food regimen is simple, and all her medicine with her treat went smoothly. Kara was always very clear with the instructions and we had good communication, since she chose me to take care of Helen the first thing was a video call. Her home is in a very nice place, near the blue train, you can get off at Racine if you have a suitcase since there is a ramp. There are also bus stops less than a block away. Everything was clean and tidy, and the temperature was ideal, but now in winter, I would definitely take care of Helen again, if you have the opportunity take it!
Stella was a wonderful host, she welcomed me and prepared an amazing curry for the day before her flight so that I could already meet her, the house and their lovely cat Myrtle. I felt at home, the energy in the house is beautiful and the time with Myrtle was precious. Allthought shy at first, she opened up within few days and by the end of these two weeks we were sitting together on the sofa. I'm very grateful also for all the tips Stella was able to give me to find other places around here and the gentleness she showed me and my partner, who came to visit me as well after agreeing about this option of course I hope I'll meet Stella, Joerg and Myrtle again sometime!
Looking after Zeus and Luna was loads of fun. They are full of personality and are great to be around. I felt welcome at the house and enjoyed Carla and her family’s hospitality. The house is beautiful and very clean. It is in a quiet suburb making it easy to get a good nights sleep. Lots of parks and walking tracks close to the house made it easy to take the dogs for a walk. I Really enjoyed this house sit. I would look after Zeus and Luna again any time.
