Lee
I sat for Lee's household- Jenny, Claire de Lune and Smudge in South Park and they are a great bunch. Jenny the dog still enjoys her walks and treats. The cats love sunning in the backyard during the day and Claire cuddled with me at night. Smudge was talkative in a good way and would also come and be nearby at night. And the yard and the neighborhood rock! Watering was easy and I enjoyed it. Not to mention the butterflies that Lee raises, I got to see all three stages, although none hatched while I was there, one came to the yard. I would sit for Lee and Molly and the gang again.

Anja & Hermann
Anja and Hermann are 2 great pet owners. They welcomed me like an old friend and I felt immediately like home. The entire stay Anja and Hermann were always easy to reach during their trip. Their home was very clean and I really missed nothing. I loved so sit in the garden and terrace with Max and we watched the beautiful birds around.
On the other side of the house I enjoyed so much to pick some vegetable from the own garden for my meal. There is a bakery, supermarket, pharmacy and bank easy to reach by foot.
Max has a great behavior and is easy to handle. Even brushing was easy going ;) It was a great sit and I love to come back.
Thank you very much. Wish you a great time.

We would have given a 4.5 if we could have but that unfortunately isn't an option. The downsides were fairly minor but we feel it helpful to the owners and others to give an honest review.

We'll start with the good: The house was lovely, comfortable, had a great kitchen for cooking in and was the best Brighton/Hove location we've experienced! It was really easy to walk from the house to all the hot spots of Brighton, plus super easy to take the dogs on walks around the neighborhood or along the beachfront. The dogs were very easy to walk and weren't affected by other dogs they would come across which made for stress-free walks. H was away in the US so we didn't meet him but PJ kept great communication throughout and H would fill in when PJ was out of service areas. The dogs were very sweet and enjoyed affection and walks without being overbearing in any way.

Reasons for not giving a full 5 star review: We had just come off a house-sit with a lot of barking and expressed that as a concern for this sit, and while we were assured they weren't barkers, they did bark more than we had hoped. They were especially barky when we first got there doing the walk-through, making it more chaotic than ideal, especially since this was our only sit without a welcome packet or written instructions so it was all being told to us verbally (while the dogs were barking). Not having any written instructions also resulted in us having to ask more questions to PJ while she was away instead of being able to refer to the packet first. Due to Ellie having had a few pee accidents the day PJ and her daughter were leaving (perhaps due to some anxiety), we were instructed to crate her at night. This unfortunately resulted in her barking several times in the night. After discussing with PJ, we decided to not crate her after that first night and she was absolutely fine and did not have any more accidents. The dogs remained in the kitchen area the second night, again due to concerns over accidents, but Fig then began howling at 6am when the kitchen area began to get light. Going forward we opted to have the dogs sleep in our room, which was much better, but Fig insisted on sleeping on the bed, and Ellie often wanted under the covers which was fine with us but we feel sitters should know this going in. While the dogs were all quite sweet, Snuffles is getting older and has some behavioral issues as a result, growling or snapping at the other dogs when they would get in her way, or even us when trying to shoo her out of the kitchen while cooking so she wasn't a trip hazard at our feet. When eating, she would get a good amount of the raw meat stuck in her beard but she was not a fan of being cleaned and dried, sometimes resulting in her snapping at us when trying.

Finally, the parking situation was unfortunately difficult. Street parking was available but expensive (almost £10 for 2 hours) and if paying, you could only park for 2 hours during the day and then not return for another 4. While there were guest parking passes, they only receive 20 (or 25) per year and with us staying a week, we would have used up a chunk of those passes and PJ expressed concern over this. We opted to return our vehicle to family in Seaford, taking public transportation to get back and do without our vehicle for the week but that may not be an option for others.

Overall we did have a lovely stay, despite some of the hiccups and we would recommend this sit to others.
