We had a fantastic time sitting for Francesca and family in their beautiful home. We immediately fell in love with their small gang of animals. Wadi, the pup, was the calmest, sweetest doggo. He was extremely well behaved that many people even commented on how good he was when we were out walking him. Ora and Fabio and the type of cats that will even let you rub their bellies! They soak up love and give a whole lot in return. The house is gorgeous, open and full of light. It's also an excellent location where you can walk to just about anything. Francesca had excellent communication and we felt welcomed and at home in the space.

What a neat bunch of kitties! Morty, the outside cat, does not do human contact but patiently waited twice a day for his food. As for the inside kitties, they have their fun idiosyncrasies and alliances. Gertrude and Tedmond, the littermates, like to sleep together and often spent afternoons on the guest (my) bed. Gert normally isn't very outgoing but did come to me a couple times for pets towards the end of my sit. Teddy reliably gave me 6:30 wake-up calls and spent his mornings sleeping with me. Both he and Steele climbed on me and my laptop often for petting sessions. Steele also liked to sit at my feet and patiently wait for me to reach down and provide him with a hand for him to boop. The two boys love chasing toys, and either they or the siblings playfought often. (Steele and Gert didn't interact much.)

Then there's crunchy time. Whatever they're doing, when you bring the crunchies out all three of them immediately materialize at your feet.

The house is neat and clean and easy to care for. I found the guest bed a fit firm, but after adding an air mattress was comfortable enough. Kitchen had everything I needed, and I ran out of cat food bowls and plates before human plates.

If you head west on Club Boulevard you will find walking/bike trails that run north through Northgate Park, or south to downtown and Duke east campus.

I ran into bad luck with weather (lots of rain) but the kitties made staying inside worthwhile. Hope to see Jo, Ali and the gang again!

Pedro was the sweetest cat ever! Really enjoyed his personality, playfulness and cuddles. Definitely recommend if you want a lovely place to stay in Amsterdam west with a sweet cat.

Matt and Rhi were the loveliest hosts and were so welcoming and accommodating. Communication throughout the process was amazing and provided lots of very helpful information about the surrounding areas and the animals, which assured us massively. Hugo was a delight to look after and was very easy to take out and explore the amazing surroundings and the rabbits were very easy to take care of too. We enjoyed our stay massively, such lovely people, pets and place! Would highly recommend staying if you have the chance. Thanks again Matt and Rhi! 😊
