Sonia and David invited us over the night before for a delicious supper to meet them and the dogs. They were both super hosts and we had a lovely afternoon and evening together. Sonia and David have a beautiful home a few mins drive from the beach. We enjoyed some nice walks down by the beach front with the dogs and on the nature paths round the back of their home. The dogs were a joy to pet sit. They all have very kind and loving natures and love affection. We also loved caring for Scouty their Scotish Terrier who was pregnant and needed a little extra TLC as her puppies were growing fast in her belly. There is a real sense of community feel in the area, all the other dog owners knew who we were and we met lots of lovely new people on our walks. Brighton is a 15 min drive or long costal walk from their home. They have a local Co-op Supermarket which is walking distance together with a great Italian restaurant (which we would recommend) and some other local shops too. We had a great stay and pet sit. We'd love to come back for longer next time and would highly recommend Sonia and David to any sitters you genuinely love caring for sensitive dogs. Thank you Sonia and David for a super sit experience.

Kate and David, thank you so much for sharing your home and allowing us to spend time with Sunny. We received an excellent written guide before the sit, so we had the opportunity to ask any questions. The family welcomed us at the property for an introduction and thorough handover the day before the sit. Sunny was chilled and happy to see us and go for a walk when we arrived in the morning. Sunny’s routine was straightforward to follow and very consistent. She is very easygoing, loves her food, being in your company, and having her teeth brushed, which was a new skill for us. It was difficult to resist her pleas for food because of the cute face, but she didn't hold it against us if she had to wait a bit longer! The walks with Sunny were memorable; there are several parks and interesting things to see around the area. At the beginning of the sit, we were fortunate to get great weather and ventured out for longer walks, which Sunny didn’t mind at all! She wasn’t too keen on the rain, but once out walking, she accepted it, as did we. Sunny is excellent on the lead and will follow your pace. Sunny adapted to either of us walking her or if we were together. Some days, her recall was better than others. She changed noticeably and was very respectful in the cathedral cloisters and happy to move aside to let people pass in town. The house was warm and comfortable, with everything we could possibly need. We stocked up on M&S meals and got some work done between exploring with Sunny. We really enjoyed Salisbury; it is walkable, and the people are friendly; something about it is comfortable and familiar yet intriguing. The food and atmosphere were great in the market, cafes, pubs, and general. The gentleman at the Salisbury Information Centre gave us some good sightseeing recommendations. Contact with Kate during the sit was via WhatsApp. We sent photos of Sunny regularly and had a couple of questions, all of which Kate responded to promptly. Not knowing what to expect of Salisbury, we were pleasantly surprised, and delighted Kate and David chose us to care for Sunny. We would absolutely recommend this sit! Conrad and Deborah
Had a great sit for Sue talking care of Tater Tot. Tater was friendly and relaxed, and all instructions for his care were provided. Having a guest bedroom was wonderful, as was the entire house. The location is fantastic: the neighborhood is walkable and has plenty of restaurants (loved Encanto) and breweries. Overall, a great sit if you want a great cat, house, neighborhood, and host. Ginny was very nice, clear and open since the begin. All the information provided was accurate and absolute no issues happened. I felt comfortable and welcomed. Luna is a lovely, sweet and cuddly baby. She’s very obedient. She can get a bit excited when around other dogs or passing by restaurants, but just tell her no and she’ll obey. I found out that when noticing other dogs were coming, by stopping a bit away and telling her to sit, she’d stay put and understand, until it was time to go again. It was a lovely stay, altogether.
Laurel's home is beautiful and clean, and she has the absolute sweetest cats ever. They were such great company. Rhaegar is always ready to do tricks for you (for treats!!!) and Drago is super social. Laurel was responsive whenever I reached out and we'd would highly recommend this sit!

This business is the best of the best; well run and staffed, excellent caregivers and definitely worth paying a bit more than other services. Our petsitter Naomi sent us daily pictures and briefings on our dog and two cats while we were in Italy; it made it so much easier to have a good time knowing our pets were in good hands. I felt she went above and beyond what she had to do, and was very caring and responsible to our animals. Planning to use them again and would highly recommend.
Once Upon a Dog Tail was the BEST pet sitting service that I have ever used. The owner is wonderful and went beyond all my expectations to make sure that our three cats were cared for and loved while we were gone. Since we had 2 and a half feet of snow while we gone, the owner made sure the cats were set with food and water before the storm and the owner's husband personally made the snowy trek to our house the day after the storm to get our cats fresh water and food. The owner also made attempts to get our driveway plowed for us before we returned and even picked up glass from a light that broke from winds while we were gone. Above and beyond all my expectations!!! I highly recommend Once Upon a Dog Tail. You will not be disappointed with their services!!!
The team at OUADT is reliable, kind, compassionate, and awesome with my dogs. I have a high maintenance pack - crate and rotate requirements, medications, escape artists - and yet I never worry when OUADT is taking care of them. I love the messages and pictures I her after each visit. I know my doggos are loved and well cared for in my absence.
I moved to Lancaster from Philly at the beginning of September of this year. Besides moving, one of my top priorities was finding a great pet sitting company for my 11-year-old calico cat, Candy, since I'm out of town for quite a few weekends and holidays. Naomi was able to meet with us that Sunday so that I could get care scheduled for the following weekend! Everyone at OUADT provides wonderful care to Candy while I'm away--it shows that they are animal lovers! I love how they use the Time to Pet app and write a message with photos after each visit. Even when Candy has days that she likes to hide and not be social, it's evident that they still love seeing her! On other occasions, Candy greets them at the door and is social, allowing pets! After our meet and greet I felt completely confident that Candy would receive great care, and she has, each and every visit. I'd highly recommend that anyone looking for pet care in the Lancaster area contact OUADT!

We recently moved to PA, and Eleanor (4 yrs old) has had the same groomer since she was a puppy. Finding a new, trustworthy groomer wasn’t an easy task. We are so happy to have found Gochenauer. Eleanor had a good experience, and she looks great. We particularly appreciate the excellent communication we have with them.

Forewarning, I am actually a former employee and not a customer. But I feel as if my review should be even moreso impactful since I have seen all the "behind the scenes" and nitty gritty. I worked for Gochenaeur Pet Resort part time during my pregnancy in addition to my full time job. They treat the dogs excellently and their system is practically flawless. If they tell you they will give your dog a special treat you packed for them, your dog gets that treat. If you request they get their favorite toy, I promise they got it. It is incredibly clean and biohazard free. They are an incredible staff who are truly all animal lovers. As an employee, even part time and only there for a short time, they treated me like family and I was exposed to some of the best working conditions I've ever experienced. They throw little parties for important life occasions, even barely knowing me I was given a "mother to be" celebration with the other pregnant women in the facility. I have since left Gochenaeur's to pursue a home job where I now work comfortably and am with my baby all day, and yet months later, I still think about how wonderful of a place it is!
First grooming here for our bernedoodle puppy. A little shorter than expected, but overall good job! Reasonable pricing for that doodle crazy fur.
I don't know how I feel about this place. The fact that there is an extra charge/fee to play with the cats being boarded, makes me feel like they may not be cared for as well as the dogs there. The cats are cooped up in a room for the majority of the day without much interaction. Yes, dogs don't use a litter box, and need to be walked, but the fact that I would have to pay you to acknowledge and interact with my pet doesn't sit quite right with me. And as expensive as it is to board a cat, you shouldn't have to pay for the staff to play with a self-sufficient animal that doesn't need to be walked or picked up after as much as a dog. I've been reading some of the reviews and the majority are from dog owners, so it is obvious this place is geared much more towards dogs; which is fine, but cats still need some attention & love too!
I would never trust any other facility with the health and safety of my babies! The girls at the front desk are always kind and absolutely ADORE my boys. They always make a big deal out of seeing them :) they always come home clean and happy! My smallest aussie is a puppy mill rescue and is VERY wary of people. Even with his quirks the staff is patient and caring. They were just there in the beginning of August while I was on vacation. They were informative and up front about the strain of kennel cough circulating nationally that isn't covered by the current vaccine and explained their sanitization process thoroughly. Very grateful for the staff and their love of all of our babies!
This was our first time boarding Maddie at Gochenauer Kennels and I couldn’t have been more impressed. We were worried because Maddie is dog reactive but Gochenauer’s took every precaution to make sure Maddie was comfortable and safe. She had a great time playing with the friendly staff and making new human friends! Staff member, Sam C., is extremely knowledgeable and simply incredible with dogs. We wouldn’t want Maddie to stay anywhere else while we are away on vacation! We always know that she will be well taken care of and having a great time at Gochenauer’s!
We have loved the customer service with PetSmart so far! Our dog loves day camp and his overnight stays. They always remember him by name when we come in and they are always willing to update us on how he’s doing at his stays. The staff is wonderful! I recommend them to anyone!
All I can say is Thank you!!! Had to make a reservation a few days before the 4th of July weekend after driving for over 16 hours from Florida to visit family. My sisters dogs were not having it with a strange dog in her house. The staff at Petsmart PetsHotel took great care of my Shadow. My kids and wife were sad so I stopped by for a visit with them after Shadow’s 2nd day and he was a happy pup. Staff was very friendly, from the phone receptionist, the front desk at hotel, to the people in back. They answered all our questions and were really reassuring us that Shadow was in good hands. Best decision in short notice and it was worth it. When we picked him up to head back to FL he was bathed and got a goodie bag of treats with a report card!!! Will definitely use this place again in my future visits to PA.
I send my pups to this location occasionally and have never had an issue. Even if I have last minute plans, they are always able to accommodate. I go to Banfield for my pet's health needs so transferring information was easy.
Our dog Loki was a stray rescue we had picked up about a year and a half ago. We work really hard with Loki about his insecurities with humans and other dogs. We were very anxious to have him stay in any kennel. But let's face it. Everyone needs a Vaca. After researching we picked pets hotel at petsmart. We booked a 4 day 3 night stay. We added half day doggy day camp, doggy ice cream and a private suite. We packed up his huge comfy blanket and all his toys. I pre portioned food so there would be no issues. Off we went. We did receive two pictures of Loki. This was awesome but also had us missing our pooch. We returned Monday morning. We did get there earlier than we had said. But they were fine with that and had Loki packed up very quickly. Loki came out and had a huge smile on his face. For a minute he didn't want anything to do with us. Then he realized. Barking kisses and rolling on the ground quickly insude. He seemed healthy and happy. The girl who rung us out let us know key points to his stay. For example, Loki wouldn't poop inside, go figure :) But what impressed us is she took him outside and walked him instead then! Wow, going above and beyond! Thank you petshotel and all the employees! We now can take vacations with no worries and honestly it was reasonably priced.
Loved it! They sent me a picture of my puppy while I was on vacation and he received a goodie bag when we picked him up. Everyone knew him when walking out the store, I felt like he was very well taken care of.
