Pet sitting for Gigi, Bella and Pooh Bear was easy and sweet. They are absolute love bugs, but do take a little trial period. Initially they are nervous, but after one evening they warmed up to us and by the end of our short stay,all three of them were in bed with us. They are so soft and adorable! We were sad to say goodbye. Taking care of the garden was easy. Katy was very communicative with us around the sit and was extremely generous--previous to the sit she asked us what we enjoyed eating because she wanted to stock us with some food that we enjoyed. So kind! Thank you Katy, and the cutest gang ever!
Tigger is a very handsome cat and he was very well behaved. He was very shy to begin with and spent a lot of time coming in and out of his cat door but slowly began to settle down. By the end of the sit he was quite vocal and wanted stroking and to sit on or by us. The house is in a very quiet, good area. We were warm and the bed was comfortable. Michael was a good host and recommended some good places for a walk which we really enjoyed. He was very friendly and made us feel at home. He was easy to communicate with and always available should we have had any questions.

Host - Rebecca was a very responsive, friendly, helpful, & kind host. Home - A rustic and basic property with only one cumbersome portable air conditioning unit made the stay uncomfortable during unusually hot days (over 100 degrees F and 40 degrees C temperatures). Due to on-going renovation projects at the home, the house was out of sorts. Animals - The two young dogs (each three years old) were super energetic, which was fun. However, that same energy created situations when they would not listen to any commands and posed a "flight risk". "Charlie" can open the doors to the rooms. About 7 feral cats are also around looking for feeding, so have to keep certain windows closed at all times, as dogs go after them and they get into things. Two house cats and chickens were easy to care for. Location - Remote location (20 km / approx. 30 mins north of Tavira) is a double-edged sword. The surroundings are serene and taking dogs out for a walk in the hills is great. However, a car is a MUST for this sit. Rebecca was generous with providing a vehicle to us, which was the only way we would consider such a sit as we did not have our own vehicle.
Lovely couple, gorgeous dog and cats. Great house with lots of interesting things to see and do near by. Clumber Park in particular is great (take Ted he likes it too).
