This has been a truly delightful sit in every way. The location of Rebecca’s place is stunning with beautiful views of the Wye Valley and some fabulous walks around. Lovely accommodation with everything you need and extensive gardens to enjoy pottering about in. The animals are great and very easy to care for. Ruby and Sapphire are independent yet affectionate when they get to know you and the two chickens are very sweet (and lay a delicious egg:-) Rebecca was very easy to communicate with the whole way through and left clear and easy-to-follow instructions. She is also a lovely and interesting person to get to know if you happen to have a bit of an overlap... I would be very happy to come and sit here again in the future if I’m available and it fits with my diary. I would highly recommend this sit.
Dawn is such a lovely person, and our stay in her home felt like a retreat. Watching Enzo and Daisy was also a joy, with their constant smiles and adorable bandana collections :) (They are two very loved pups!) We particularly enjoyed the back deck and garden, which Dawn has beautifully crafted over the years. The neighborhood is convenient for Austin explorations, and also has a wonderful, dog-friendly park a few blocks away. Dawn was super communicative and friendly throughout our stay, and her housesitting guide is very helpful (we appreciated all the tips and tricks!) We would definitely recommend a house sit if you have the chance!
I had a wonderful stay at Martyn and Lynn's place. Appreciated the chance to spend the night before to make sure all was in order and enjoyed our conversation. Both cats had very different personalities and in the end accepted me as the person who fed them. Chickens were easy to care for. The home is in a rural area with almost no noise from passing traffic. Can't speak to what things may be like in the middle of the summer but a great place to stay in the spring/autumn. Would stay again in the future if the opportunity arose. Thanks much, Martyn and Lynn.
We feel very blessed to have been chosen by Rachel to take care of her wonderful girls, Zulu and Clova. I don't know where to begin! Rachel's home is nestled in the rural Wiltshire countryside, surrounded by fields and farms. Peaceful and tranquil, yet very well connected to the local towns for amenities etc. The house is large, charming in its decor and very well equipped for cooking comfort and family life. Both indoors and outside (weather permitting) offer the most comfortable and relaxing stay. Beds are extremely comfortable, and rooms with space for our belongings etc. Rachel was thorough in her handover, showing us all we needed to ensure that we could hold the fort during her absence. Now moving on to her dogs. These girls are the highlight of the stay! Yes, despite the beautiful home and surrounding areas, the pool (we were lucky to have great weather and make use of it) and the many reasons to rave about the home, Zulu and Clova stole the show with their wonderful calm nature and personalities, the most endearing loving pets. They're such a credit to Rachel, and very well behaved. Walking the girls locally was such fun, Clova adored our children and played in the long grass, helping to create many happy memories for us all. Zulu has the calmest and most loving demeanor of any dog I've met... which is very many as members of THS for over 8 years! If offered the chance to take care of the girls again for Rachel we'd snap it up in a heartbeat! You could not ask for more in terms of location, comfort, perfect companions and the most gracious host also.
We have had the most wonderful pet sit looking after Ari and Aila in Alaska. The whole 16 days couldn’t have gone better. Anke and Dave are a lovely couple and very easy to work with and a pleasure to spend time with. The house is simply beautiful, captures the essence of Alaska perfectly. Our en suite bedroom was very comfy and perfectly placed to watch the northern lights from our bed. Anke had left us a detailed owners manual and we felt very much in control. The dogs were an absolute pleasure to be with, two very different characters. Very easy going, very loving and so well trained. They kept us amused with their funny ways and were always ready for a walk or a play in their fenced garden pen. The dogs can both pull on their leads but Anke did warn us of this! If you are lucky enough to be able to sit for Ari and Aila you can be sure of a pet sit like no other, you will fall in love with the dogs, the house and the area. We certainly did and really did not want to leave!
We had a wonderful time looking after Bonnie in Guildford for Kathleen. Bonnie is delightful and really fills the day with joy. There were many beautiful walks around the area and a delightful coffee shop in the main road. The home is conveniently situated near shops. Kathleen's home is really lovely and has a magnificent garden. Thank you for allowing us to look after Bonnie and your home.
