Enjoyed meeting Jody and John and they were great guests. They kept us updated on Ziggy. The only thing I would have liked was perhaps a photo or two. Otherwise, all was great! Would definitely invite them back!
I had an amazing two weeks with Tucker and Hazel. They are so well behaved and love to cuddle. There's a walking trail perfect for daily walks right behind the house and they have a doggy door to the backyard so they can lounge in the sun and goo to the bathroom whenever they need to in the day. Michelle and Martin are wonderful and welcoming people who want you to feel right at home. The house itself is beautifully decorated and they're both artists which make the house feel so curated and loved. I had a fantastic time caring for Tucker and Hazel and look forward to it again in the future.
This was my first pet-sitting through the THS website, and I can only hope they are all as enjoyable and rewarding as this. AK (A&T) were perfect hosts. Helpful, polite, and genuinely keen to make sure I would be fine helping out when their plans changed and the sitting started a day earlier than expected. I was picked up at the station and shown around the house and met all their pets. They went above and beyond to make sure I would be able to enjoy looking after the five horses, and their dog Lulu who loved helping out. After being picked up at the station and a quick tour of the stables, fields, and feeding details/processes (plus a set of really detailed instructions that were super useful as a reference) they were able to get on their way to Cornwall for the week. The routine became anticipated and I found myself looking forward to the visits to feed and check on the 'five friends in a field'. I have never had to regularly tend to horses before, but the two mature horses and three shetland ponies were really well behaved, and even jogged up the hill to the gate on my arrival at feeding. Looking after Lulu was straight forward, and she wouldn’t allow you to forget a feed, with a gentle, normally early, reminder to prep her one of her 3-a-day. While Lulu is not as young as she once was and has an occasional slow-start, she still enjoyed our walks in the morning, and some ball-games on the lawn in the afternoon (not the best at 'fetch', but an enthusiastic ball/frisbee chaser!). AK’s home is lovely and has fantastic light through the day, all the mod-cons, and a great kitchen. It is only a 15 minute walk in to Billingshurst where the station and Tesco’s were usefulI even started doing yoga again in the big, bright atrium - When I could actually stop Lulu trying to claim the mat. They were really helpful and quick to respond to the couple of practical questions that popped up, and I had the peace and quiet to get a significant amount of remote-working done during the day, with the checks on the furry friends a fantastic way to break up the day. As above, this was a really great stay, and felt restorative after a week of carng for the animals and lovely barn conversion, and I hope I get the opportunity to look after all their lovely four-legged friends again some time soon.
Sandra and Steve are very kind and hospitable! They provided a greatly helpful welcome guide outlining all the pets needs and behaviours - it was handy to have for quick reference. Their home is convientely located, only a short stroll from the bus and train station and the town centre. Roxy, Sooty and Mopey are truly an easy going and loveable bunch. Mopey may take a little to warm up but enjoys a brushing and talking with you in her chirping style - its very cute! Roxy and Sooty are extremely friendly; despite their senior ages, they didn't require any extra or special care, however, I would recommend that sitters should be comfortable with older animals. It's easy to feel at home with the animals and I would happily sit for Sandra and Steve again anytime!
Cleo the cat is very affectionate and easy going. The appartment is very spacious and cozy. Communication with Merel was top! The location is perfect: the tram wich brings you to the center is round the corner.
The dogs were incredibly sweet and polite; we had a great time and would love to look after them again anytime. The hosts are very friendly and helpful, and the apartment was clean and very cozy.
I highly recommend this house sit! Tom and Rebecca were very hospitable and their house was quiet and comfortable. The neighborhood was filled with beautiful walking paths and nearby parks. Coco, the dog, was only a tiny bit nervous with me at first but was my best bud once we started our walking routine. She was happy to go long distances (at least a half hour) as long as she got out twice! The cats are mellow and like Coco they warmed up to me soon enough - one took a little longer - but they were affectionate and chill:)
