It’s no exaggeration to say that Odin is the world’s sweetest dog — very playful and affectionate and perfectly behaved. We will miss him! This lovely, spacious apartment is in a great area of San Francisco and there is so much to explore, including the top-notch cafes and restaurants just meters away. Stephanie and Jeff were fabulous — very organized and easy to communicate with. We’d totally recommend housesitting here if you’re lucky enough to have the chance.
Our first time sitting for Sue and Andrew in Salisbury, and we can’t wait to go back! Not only was it a lovely home and garden but their pets were fabulous. Pumpkin, who we called Madame Pompadour, is a beautiful Mau but like most cats was quite regal and aloof but still gave me head buts in the morning at breakfast and allowed me to stroke her …while insisting on her lunch being al fresco! Tallie was a peach of a dog, so loving, easy to walk around the surrounding fields and playing fields and wanted to be with us all the time – our kinda dog! She didn’t wake us early and joined us in the evening for a cuddle but then settled down and watched TV! She is definitely one of our favourite pooches…. Sue and Andrew were very friendly and welcoming. Their house was very easy to keep clean, modern and spacious… and they had a robot called Ron to cut the lawn! It is situated in a small private road which made us feel very secure. All in all, a sit we would highly recommend.
We were so fortunate to be able to sit with Cindy’s two adorable kitties! They both had their own sweet personality and loved to play. They were very easy to take care of, and were very cuddly once they got to know us a bit. We were sad to leave Frankie and Ruthie, and look forward to being able to come back another sit! Cindy’s home is very lovely, and in a super quiet nice neighborhood. We very much enjoyed being able to walk down the street to the park and take the trail around the lake.
Billy is a dream boat. He's such an affectionate and easy little chap to be around. Lucie's home is gorgeous and close to lots of fab cafes. It was an all round lovely experience. : )
We had a lovely stay looking after Jerry, Raisins and Olive. The house is light and airy, very well equipped and super clean and tidy, so we didn't feel like we were intruding. Fiona and Dieter were there to welcome us and provided excellent instructions regarding the animals' needs and where to reach out for assistance if required. Jerry and Raisins were instant best mates. Olive was a bit more reserved, but we gave her plenty of space and had no trouble finding her at feeding time. The neighbours are friendly too. We thoroughly enjoyed our brief stay in this lovely leafy part of Brisbane. We'd be delighted to be asked back another time.
We had a wonderful two week stay with Layla in Barcelona. She is an extremely friendly and cuddly dog and it was a pleasure getting to know her. Although shy at first, she quickly warmed up to us and by the end of our time we were the best of friends. It was great to cuddle together on the sofa with her (she loves belly rubs) and she made us laugh a lot with her antics when she played with her toys. Layla is very intelligent and well trained, it was impressive how many tricks she knows and she had fun showing them off to us. As Jesus and Melanie told us in advance, she is scared of city noises when going on walks. To make this the most enjoyable experience for her, we took her out at quieter times of the day and kept away from the busy areas when possible. We went to the Jardins de la Maternitat park several times and she loved the green open space and meeting other dogs. She is gentle, playful and gets along well with all of the other dogs we met. She also enjoyed playing in the nearby dog park, although she seemed to enjoy the grassy park more. The apartment is absolutely stunning, very modern and super comfortable with everything you could need. It is located in a nice residential area which is well connected to the city centre with public transport. The area is safe and quiet with plenty of supermarkets just a few minutes walk away. We enjoyed cooking in their well equipped kitchen and spending time on the balcony. Josh was able to do home office very easily during our time as they are also setup for home office, with a comfy chair, desk and fast and stable internet. He was often kept company by Layla which made the work days pass quickly. Melanie and Jesus are great hosts who were extremely welcoming. After video calling them for the first time, it felt like we were already friends and had a great connection and smooth communication. The communication was very honest and open about what to expect when we arrived. They are very organized and provided us with a very extensive welcome guide which helped us to settle in smoothly and we felt immediately at home. Although they left their apartment really early in the morning on the day of our arrival, it was clean, tidy and everything was ready for us. As our first TrustedHousesitters sit, we were extremely fortunate to connect with such a wonderful couple. We enjoyed every minute with Layla and it was extremely hard to say goodbye. We hope that we’ll meet her again sometime in the future!!!
