This comfy house-sit was a perfect February get-away! Despite the snowy drive to Bend, we finally made it, and the house was oh – so cozy once we got there. Hallway bookcases were filled with books, with even more lining shelves in the living-room, showcasing quite a selection of good reading material. We were also charmed by the welcoming, gas fireplace aglow with golden flames, where several kitties stretched sleepily on the rug, close to the warmth. That area certainly became our favorite hang-out place during this sit! In the adjacent room, Valentine’s Day balloons floated above a dining-room chair, and the table was adorned with fresh flowers. That’s where Paula & Hal treated us to a delicious, home-cooked dinner upon our arrival, and familiarized us with feeding/outdoor routines for their 3 lovely cats – Pumpkin, Dancer, & Shadow. All were easy to care for, & affectionate in their own ways. And when they were ready for treats, they let us know by sitting in a little circle together when we walked by! During the sit, we kept in touch with Paula via emails, & provided photos of the kitties. All went smoothly. The house was very comfortable & tidy, and well-organized. And we were impressed with the murphy bed in our guest room. There were even two desks cleared so we could set up our computers. In the evenings, we took advantage of all the wonderful programs on Netflix! We enjoyed afternoon strolls in the beautiful neighborhood (very safe), passing friendly folks walking their dogs. Later we learned that the Deschutes River Trail (a marvelously beautiful walk) was just a short drive away in the Old Mill District, where paved pathways follow right next to the river, with adjacent restaurants & stores just steps away. Other stores are also conveniently close to their home, including grocery stores & outlet malls. Also just a short drive south is the High Desert Museum – with outdoor & inside exhibits – not to be missed! We highly recommend this delightful house-sit, and look forward to a repeat visit!
Bobby was a joy to watch at Chris and Andrew’s house. He’s a very affectionate dog and has excellent recall when off leash. We had a great time exploring York, the coast, and the countryside together. Chris and Andrew gave me a very warm welcome into their home and a thorough handover which was great. Would highly recommend and would love to come back in the future for more cuddles with Bobby 🥰
What can we say about this wonderful sit? Paula and Nick made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. Paula made a lovely veggie stew, a welcome wintry feast, topped off by sweet stewed plumbs from their orchard. Then there were the Three Ruffskateers! Sally, Freo, and Dilly. Such characters, each in their own way, offer abundant love in exchange for the same. Over the week, we enjoyed ice-cold walks in the surrounding fields, a lovely Sunday lunch visit to the Durham Ox, and many a cosy evening, all five of us in the lounge, relaxing by the multi-fuel burner. Freo's snoring with all four legs in the air was a constant amusement on such nights. As we left, Jules thanked the dogs all for their individual gifts: 1. Freo: for her waggly-bum, bags of energy, and insistence on getting the most love. 2. Dilly: for her adventurous nature, love of belly tickles, and being the beautiful blonde of the pack. 3. And Sally, the "mama", for always being our shadow, for her intense stares and heart-melting gentle and loving way. The thing about this gig is that we always have to say goodbye to these beautiful souls with whom we've connected. However, it feels less painful knowing they're soon to be reunited with their they're "Kahu". Paul and Nick are Kahu through and through. 🙏🏾💚🌈

Heartland Kennels is amazing! Our little fur baby was always left traumatized at the last place we used for grooming. When she goes to Heartland she comes home the same pup we sent in happy, playful and full of life. No more shaking, and not eating for days! You guys are the best.

I can’t say enough good things about Heartland Kennels. It is the only place I have ever felt safe enough to board my dogs. It is family owned and they are so friendly and personable. They have taken great care of my fur babies and are very reasonably priced.
Highly recommend!! I was nervous about my dog's first experience being boarded since he's very attached to us, but the staff here were so nice. They made drop off quick and easy and my dog was so relaxed after we picked him up I couldn't believe it. They even trimmed his nails and I think gave him a bath which I really appreciated because I had meant to ask for his nails to be trimmed and I totally forgot. Super affordable as well. We'll definitely use Heartland again next time we go out of town.

We feel so good and confident that our elderly cat is taken care of when we go on vacation for a few weeks twice a year. Everyone shows great affection to the animals♡ Its a well taken care of and clean facility. We have used them 4 times and always feel good when we leave him in thier hands!
We had a great experience at Alador! Our boy, Rocky is a puppy and we weren’t sure how’d he do but he seemed very comfortable and loved the staff! So much so he didn’t mind when we left. The communication was great and you can tell the staff love the animals they work with. The price is also fair! Definitely recommend!
We used Alador for a number of years and were very happy with them. My dogs were always well cared for. Last year we had 3 unpleasant (rude) encounters with the same woman at the desk. I decided to call and inquire if there was a change in ownership to which the woman replied that her daughter and son in law were taking over. When she asked me to describe the woman she became defensive immediately and replied "that's my daughter". She then only wanted to know who I was rather than what I was calling about. Again, we never had an issue with the care of our dogs and the other employees were always very nice, but the rudeness of the new and previous owner is something that I, as a customer will not tolerate. We also received negative feedback about the same woman from another customer that used Alador based on our recommendation.

BEWARE! We picked our dogs up yesterday and spent a pretty penny boarding them, only to pick them up with 1 chewed up leash and a dog bed. Our dogs don't do this at home. I called today to complain since this is the SECOND time we've picked them up with a ruined leash, and I got yelled at. Yes I fought back, but I did not get anything from them other than "its my fault" this happened under their flippin watch. A proper customer service mentality does not exist with that place. We will NEVER step foot in that place again, and I will be blasting them with bad reviews everywhere I can, between Google and word of mouth.
My husband and I have used Alador for many years to board our pit mix, Louie. The staff is friendly and great with our boy, taking the time to great him slowly and gently, upon arrival. We love the option of a private space and run. The staff always gives him a bath before we pick him up, which is an added bonus we love. I boarded my dog at Alador for 9 days. When I picked my dog up she had urine stains on both of hips and down her tail. She had a nickel size spot on her knee where her fur was gone. She had acute diarrhea. After two visits to the vet in one week, she was diagnosed with bacterial diarrhea. Five injections and two prescriptions later, my girl is getting better.

Dr. Sanzone takes great care of my dog and always takes time to listen and thoroughly answer my questions. Fran is always helpful at the desk. The vet techs are friendly and patient. Never a long wait at our appointments. Boarding at the resort in the back has also been a positive experience.

They really are a great vet clinic! They treated my dogs like they were their own and regularly call to check up on them; after vaccines or procedures, I always get a call checking on their well-being. And the prices at this clinic are amazing. No one beats them!
I never used this vet before but they euthanized my beagle Doc with grace!
Everyone that works there are very friendly and outgoing and helpful my dog buddy is in water therapy with Alex buddy had surgery on both his back legs and with the help of Alex and the water therapy his walking As proved tremendously
The care everyone here gives the animals is phenomenal. Our dog is skeptical of a lot of people but loves everyone at Forever Friends. We even saw one person outside of the lodging facility and my dog got so excited to see her- the employee even knew it was our dog. We didn't know her and thought it was strange until the employee told us who she was. Love Forever Friends!!!
The staff at Forever Friends are very friendly, knowledgeable and kind. They have taken care of our fur babies for awhile now. They were so kind and compassionate in helping me get through a very difficult and emotional time in having our Maverick and Riley pass. They always take good care of us.
We have 4 dogs and 4 cats. We have had a couple dogs pass away in the past 25 years. And we had the ashes put in a cherry remains box. But forever friends did so much more. Like we had to go pick up the box. They brought them to us. And the way they present everything is outstanding.
I’ve debated leaving this review for a long time. Now that I’ve seen others left similar reviews, I have to put my two cents in. Okay, so I took my dogs there ONCE and I regret it completely. The place smells to high hell. I’ve never smelled anything like that in my life. Even the lobby was gross. I wasn’t updated at all about my dogs, and getting a return email was another nightmare. Back to the smell, it is something I will never forget. My dogs don’t go outside only 3 times a day either! My dogs must go out at least 6-7 times per day. I paid extra for the extra potty breaks. My flight was literally 2 hours away, and there was nothing I could do. If I wasn’t traveling for work, I’d cancel in a heartbeat. My dogs were filthy upon pickup, so I will never use them again. I’d rather stay home than take my dogs there. They couldn’t wait to get out of this dungeon. Cheaper is not always better.
It’s not fancy but my dog LOVES to stay at the kennel. He runs up to the staff when we check in and he’s happy and spunky when I pick him up. He’s been afraid at other fancier kennels we’ve used in the past but at this one he seems to feel right at home. The staff really seems to care about the animals and I think it helps that they allow us to bring his toys and bed from home too. The grooming services are okay. We don’t use them all the time but it is very convenient that he can get a bath and haircut while staying in the kennel if he needs it. We love TLC pet lodge!
I am interested in taking my dog here. After looking at their prices where they charge you a FEE for a human to pet your dog for 15 min and will only let your dog out 3 times a day unless you pay more. I’m running fast and far away. My dog is my baby and if you want people to take their dogs there you should put up cameras.
Jennifer Durst and staff did amazing with my five animals one of which has always had a hard time with boarding. The staff are pleasant and professional, I will continue to use them in the future!
I have a Cavalier King Charles that they always do a great job on. I get a full groom done each time and he always looks great when I pick him up.
I do not recommend this facility! I was very disappointed when picking my dog up after 3 nights at the facility. First, when I picked my dog up and she ran outside with great urgency to use the bathroom, as if she hadn't had an opportunity to in a long while. She then proceeded to drink three full bowls of water without stopping and according to the vet was severely dehydrated. To top it off, she came home with kennel cough which had to be treated. I will never bring any pet here again. They are poorly managed and do not properly care for the animals they are responsible for.
This was by far our worst nightmare, we had a horrible feeling once we walked in. The lobby was the dirtiest worst smelling place I’ve ever walked into in my life. We boarded our dog there for 9 days while on vacation. We dropped our dog off very healthy and he has never had any problems. A couple days into vacation we had to ask for an update because no one reached out to us, they had told us everything was going well. Two days later we received a TEXT saying there was blood in our dogs urine and they had taken him to the vet. It would have been nice to get a call letting us know they were taking him to the vet. When we picked him up they handed us the vet bill and added the total onto our boarding bill. They will not let you even see your dog without paying first. This was a last resort booking because our usual place and all other great kennels were completely booked. We will never return and will cancel vacation before we take our dog back to this place.
TLC was highly recommended by a friend. My dogs had never been kenneled before, so naturally I was very worried. I had an emergency situation where I had to drive to OH for a funeral and my two dog sitters were both on vacation. My three Airedales spent the night at TLC and received wonderful care. I have one that is reactive (a rescue) and she did very well. The facilities are bright, cheerful and clean. The staff is amazing! My dogs were happy and very settled on the long ride back to the Philadelphia area. I can't thank them enough!
This place is wonderful! Everyone was very friendly and accommodating. They got my dog in at the last minute during a holiday and even fed him Thanksgiving dinner! I recommend this place for boarding your precious fur baby!
I've gotten two Airedales from Marj in the past 15 years. Both were outstanding characters. I would and do regularly recommend her dogs to people looking for quality Airedales. I have also kenneled my dogs on many occasions at Mentor TLC. They love it there. Marj and her staff treat them with loving kindness.
