We selected Patrick because of his prior great reviews. HOWEVER THIS WAS NOT THE SAME BEHAVIOR WE EXPERIENCED. I am not sure what was going on with Patrick but he was a terrible pet sitter. This was a 9 days sit. For starters he hardly said anything to us when he came in. He never asked questions about the instructions or any clarifications. He would not respond to half of our texts or emails and if he did it would be one word or so . He actually never answered my telephone calls. When I asked him to call me about his texted statements he stated "there is nothing to talk about". This individual seriously lacks social skills. As far as following instructions: Our dogs were to be walked twice a day. He walked them for the first two days and never again. When asked about walks he would be untruthful and evasive. We have several cameras around the outside of the home that tracked all the activity. He came in and out many times but without the dogs. I requested daily pictures of the dogs. He sent them for 2 days and never again. He resented my communications and after 4 days he texted "your communication does not suit me, this is the worst housesit ever", this was after only 4 days at the home. I was just asking about walks and medication. Wow, if this does not suit him then he needs to find something else to do. The only reason he was in our house was to take care of the dogs for 1 week. He could not do that at all. The last 3 days he was there he left the house for 4 hours one day and 6 hours the other two days! That is absolutely NOT acceptable. He texted me one day " I am with friends and will be out for a couple of hours" He had already been out for 4 hours!. After 6 days of this behavior I wrote him an email stating that it was obvious he was not happy with the sit and that he could leave the home. I also gave him the option to stay ONLY if we agreed to follow all the rules. He decided to leave. I had a friend coming to take over the sit. He refused to wait for her (only two hours of wait) and left the home. He threw away all the instructions of dog care and the home was left filthy. I found numerous poop from the dogs throughout the house that had obviously been there for quite some time (some upstairs and one in the other spare bedroom). Cannot be blamed on the other sitter as she was only here for 20 hours and I saw her letting the dogs out continuously. She also had minimal instruction and did not know about the upstairs room. Unlike him, that sometimes would leave the dogs in for 10 hours!! Before I wrote this review and in the interest of fairness, I sent him and email asking him to explain his erratic and completely contrary behavior to what previous reviews had said. Needless to say he did not answer my request. I believe Patrick was here for a vacation and the dogs were in his way. Needless to say I would not recommend Patrick to anyone.
