Lucia and Chris did an amazing job taking care of Shadow and Lola. Both our pets were sad to see them leave. We received regular updates and were totally at ease that our pets and home were cared for while we were traveling.
Joanna and David were WONDERFUL. they were great communicators before arrival and during their stay. The house and all the plants thrived under their care. And they left the house in immaculate shape. We were delighted to come home to caring and thoughtful touches like cut flowers. We hope to have them housesit for us many tubes in the future.
It was a pleasure sitting for Paws and Jude in Ivana’s peaceful oasis in the desert. Ivana is thoughtful, friendly, exceptionally well-organized and an excellent, clear communicator. She’s very responsive to messages and answered all my questions quickly and clearly (before, during, and after the sit). I enjoyed getting to know her. Ivana’s house is located near a small “village”, Falaj Al Mualla. Although small, it has a decent number of smaller grocery stores and restaurants (along with some other shops). The nearest town, Al Dhaid, has better shopping (I recommend the Sharjah Coop for groceries) and restaurants. It’s about a 15 minute drive from the house. Ivana has lots of excellent recommendations for restaurants, attractions, and shopping. A car is an absolute necessity for the sit. There’s no public transportation around the area/getting to the house (from Dubai) and walking isn’t a good options for daily needs. FYI that the UAE prohibits tourists from driving local people’s personal cars, so you’ll need to rent a car. Paws and Jude are independent cats and were happy just doing their cat thing during the day. Although they have very different personalities, they were happy playing together or cuddled up on the couch. It was fun to watch them interact. I had a wonderful time, enjoying the peacefulness of Ivana’s house. Highly recommended sit!
Absolutely gorgeous dogs, and very active and fun! friendly and cuddly. Also Belinda was very friendly and good company. I would have liked to know relatives would be popping by daily, before I arrived. It was not a hassle as they had a key and came early, and he was nice, but I felt I couldn't fully relax with the knowledge family could pop by at any second to use the bath/ get things from the house. Not an issue for most people but I have mild social anxiety so wasn't my ideal situation. Also heavy building works until 7pm every night outside, might have made me rethink doing this sit. alongside house inspectors coming in to check my bedroom for structural issues. while I'm sure the building stuff was exceptional circumstances, and last minute, I think the son needing access to the house regularly was quite standard, and I really ought to have been informed of this, as this would have been something I wouldn't have applied for had I been given that information. Either way I loved the dogs and did enjoy spending time with them exploring the local sights, so I don't regret going, but would think it's best to convey these important details in the listing.
We had a lovely couple of days looking after Archie in Broadwindsor. Archie is just the sweetest, cheekiest little dog and we had a fun time looking after him. He was no trouble at all and loved playing with his toys, going on his little walks and then snoozing with you on the sofa. James and Rebecca are very friendly and easy-going and their home is a beautiful place to stay. It is well set up for guests with a very comfortable guest bedroom and shower room. They have thought of everything which makes your stay very enjoyable. Really this sit does have it all - great hosts, gorgeous little dog, beautiful house and in a great location if you're looking for rural village life. We'd be very happy to return sometime to see how Archie has grown!
What a delightful sit in Cyrelle's artfully decorated "garden home" with sweet but shy Polygon!! They have recently re-landscaped their front garden and have included a great tiered pathway and steps that make entry into the home a delight! The inside is equally welcoming, with sunny spots to work, and a craft room that I took full advantage of to compete a project while there. As for "Poly", I initially did not see much of her, but over the course of the days that I was there, she increasingly sought me out for love, scratches, and attention (on her own terms). She is a sweet-heart .. and in the end, would curl up at my feet at night, on the very comfortable bed! Thank you Cyrelle, for the wonderful stay! I'm happy to come back whenever our schedules might mesh again!
This housesit was amazing! Julie was very welcoming and made sure we understood everything we needed to — not only in taking care of her home, Dodger and Lily — but also recommendations for fun things to do around Greenville. Her home is lovely and comfortable, and it was also very clean when we arrived. We loved sitting on the deck and listening to all the birds. And she is not exaggerating when she said her guest bed is comfortable. We slept so well. Dodger is so cute, well-behaved, and such a sweet dog. He loved to play in the front yard and would also sit in the kitchen with us when we were making meals. He was comfortable with us almost immediately, and we loved his sweet personality. Sarah is such a good cat! She is very self sufficient, coming and going from the pet door as she pleased during the day. We had no problem getting her inside for the night and she would meander upstairs to sleep. Julie also left us with a helpful print out of info in addition to her Trusted Housesitters Welcome Guide of everything we would need during our sit. Overall we highly recommend this housesit and hope to return! Thanks, Julie!
Jennie and Dan were AMAZING hosts! We met with Dan the day before for handover and himself and Jennie had gone through how the house works, written instructions, general housekeeping and as they was leaving early the next day offered us a night to stay. We kept communication throughout their trip and Eliott and I never felt worried about messaging them. With a 4 week sit, Jennie and Dan came back for a night and even gifted us Chocolates and flowers. We really could not fault them. As for Joy, what a JOY! Joy was an absolute pleasure to sit. Extremely calm and well trained. Joy was table high tall but not once did she try and get food from your plate. She was easily fed herself and knew when her feeding times were. Following instructions like going outside for the toilet before bed was incredibly easy and her selections of toys were remarkable haha! Joy was easy to walk, not once pulled on the lead and remained calmed with other dogs. I couldn't fault or recommend this sit enough! X
